If there are new openings, I believe they already have a few people in mind. If not Thor will post something about it.

I wouldn't go asking about it. As asking to be a mod is usually not the way to get it. Most streamers ask someone to be a mod. Those people have usually been in the community for a while. Are active in the community and welcoming to new people in the streamchat. That's how I got asked by a streamer to become a mod for them. It also helped they knew me from another streamers community.

If you do want to make it known. Handle it the same way as you would when contacting any other company that doesn't have an open position. You could send Thor or Khronos your information and credentials. But to be honest, I'd wait for them to post about an open position.

I have though tried to DM Khronos but Ive adopted a more passive approach of getting to know him and building a strong rapport first. Simple things like asking him how he is, what he's been up to, just trying to be friendly. Im just kind of scared if I outright ask him then that'll just ruin my chances of ever getting the opportunity. My Mum was always really harsh on me if I asked for things and only let me have what was offered, Im assuming this is the sort of lesson she was trying to teach me

It's a difficult situation. On one hand you want to let them know you are avaible and think you are a valid candidate. On the other hand you don't want to be pushy.
The way you are handeling it now feels like a good start. Get to know Khronos, but perhaps also get to know the other mods. As well as get to know the active people in the community. Talk here and in other channels that have your interest. That way the mods and the community get to know you as well.
You don't need to go back in time to do that, you can start doing that now. Maybe by the time Thor needs a new mod, you've built up a good reputation. The times Thor was asked about a mod position, it sounded like it would be a while before a new mod would be added to the team.

Enjoy being part of the community for now. And good luck with going for a mod position if the opportunity arises.

Also, the TTS is getting hit earlier and earlier, so getting yours in early always helps. He tends to average ~120 TTS for a regular stream, sometimes more or less depending on the activities that day
