Poison swamps were just "high X zones/missions" where you'd just lose AP the whole time and had to basically speed run the mission before you died

I get it, it's a game series that has always been pretty hyper focused on the gameplay loop and I do wish the missions were longer personally, I find longer missions that really push you to manage ammo and AP more fun, I find that outside of dying ammo is rarely an issue I think.

that's the question, idk, i'm not a game designer. like... should not compare to souls, but i will. or even sekiro. exploration. anything like that. i know it doesnt really fit into the whole AC gameplay, so i can just say, it's not for me.

perhaps the build variety feels a bit too tight also, but i can see how that is a pvp design choice.

i always liked to have semi light machine to boost and dodge consistently. nothing felt worse than having a heavy machine.

I think the issue with comparing AC to Souls is they're entirely different games as a feel from what I can tell. I've yet to play any of the Souls games cause it was never my vibe but I'm curious to try one, but AC was a series I played as a kid and a bit as a teenager and so I've always loved it.

Souls games are tactical dueling games where it's you carefully doing the combat dance in a comparatively slow pace. AC speed has depended on the entry as some are faster and slower but largely AC6 is a twitch reflex action game above all else. The game is at it's peak when the game is screaming warnings about incoming danger.

Also funny, 6 was like, the worst the series has maybe ever been far as I can tell in regards to heavy vs light weight builds. LW were mega trash on release, HW was busted in comparison, but they've figured out a lot of the balance issues after some patches.
