The main problem is "gearfear", but I don't know all details how it worked in AoC.
Gearfear is fear to permanently lose any gear or items in PvP, so you keep good stuff in safe place and using only trash or middle-tier all the time

Well, building a Frigate isn't an easy and fast task, you need a lot of wood and other materials and time. Lose it in one hour isn't a funny things. I compare it to my BDO experience, I spend weeks and weeks collecting and processing materials, building and upgrading my ship, it was easy repairable on dock, so you can lose a fight and try again.
But lose it permanently is impermissible

They can, its true. But suicide gankers now a really rare creatures, mostly players with 5-7 eve clients to kill their targets.
The other thing - Official wars, some corporations can declare wars to other corporation and start kill ships in oficial war freely, some players use it to get easy kills in highsec. It also nerfed.
You can declare war only if corporation have an installed structure in space, like citadel.

2. GM spawned T2 BPOs for his alliance and they get too much power using it. You know what part.

3. After investigation CCP stoped to create new t2 BPOs forever and create a dedicated team insice CCP who watching what devs spawn on TQ server. The rule is "If you spawn anything on TQ - you must trash it or it must be destroyed".
   For any event, dev roaming, anything, this team will watch you and if you forget to trash even a bullet, they will email you in a hours and remember to do it, event with item IDs

And its worked very good. I knew about at least 2 GMs (one in CCP and one in outsorced team) who was fired for spawning items and not trashing them

Ratting DED space complexes for the random missions was the last thing I did in my Ishtar

I tried doing rifts, but the person I used to rift with got ganked outside the rift exit and left the game lol

They said it wasn't worth a chance to lose your ship in the rift, only to have someone sitting outside of it whom you can't defend yourself against if they have 10 people there ready to pop you

Abyssal Deadspace is a strange thing. Instance, but timegated. Also boring after 100+ runs. But profitable. And gankers looking only for gilas, because only noobs run such uneffitient ships in Abyss, too predictable, expensive and vulnerable, but you can run it on free account (to make you more fragile). You need around 20 catalysts to kill an assault cruiser in 0.5 with assault damage control, its rarely happening, most of gangers have 5 accounts in one hand and hunting gilas

One streamer try to kill my Onyx once, and two times another gangers try kill my Cerberus. Not even close.

But they used 5-6 ships, not more.

Gila is a bad choice for 99% activities. Don't use it.
