Honestly, I’ve done a ton of thinking about that game. It looks great, visually. And I’m sure there are many good people who have poured their heart and soul into that game, in order to make sure it looks great. But even so, I still don’t have any plans on buying it just because it’s associated with Rowling’s IP, and I don’t really feel like lining her pockets any more, because she doesn’t deserve it. Not with all the harm she’s caused.
I can see why you’d want to play it. But it’s not for me. I won’t be watching these streams.

I know they claim that "she has zero involvement", but reading into it shows that they're just using fancy phrasing to simply say "she didn't write this one", because there's no way they aren't paying her royalties for using her IP -- and frankly, abusing language like that to mislead people is already disgusting in its own right.
Given that this is a game with a publisher behind it also means it's the usual AAA formula: the devs already got paid and won't be suddenly paid more just because you're buying the game, it's the publisher getting all of the money from this point onwards, so no matter how many "good people" worked on this, you're not supporting anyone worth supporting financially with this purchase or promotion of the game.

It's never been a secret she profits from licensed products, I don't know how you can mislead people in that regard. They only have to say that she's not involved so people know her views aren't reflected in the game's writing. In the end, this game is another in the thousands of licenced merchandise that feeds into her estate.

Just, as someone with a platform, you can't really just stream the game and enjoy it without offering it support. See Thor says this all the time and it's just... a weird statement? I am not an Amazon employee. I am a trans person. Why should I care about some random people who are not me or someone close to me being hurt? I don't.
And, yes, these restrictive policies and hateful agendae that are pushed for by transphobes do contribute to people being hurt, both physically (through abuse that they encourage) and mentally (obvious one here), and sometimes to suicide and/or murder. They do cause harm.

I've been talking about this subject openly for the past several months on stream. If the origins or money channels of works going to shitty people or businesses bother you then do not watch or play the game. At the same time Twitch is owned by Amazon which is in the news for human rights violations regularly.
Warner Brothers also publicly states on their FAQ that JKR did not work on this game in any way. The game is just based on the world she created. At the same time you can actually play your character as trans if you like. It gives you the option to wear any clothing and be referred to as a Witch OR Wizard regardless of gender.
The arguments I've seen online have quickly devolved into people stating you hate trans people if you play or stream the game. Even trans people who play it in some cases have been accused of "not being real trans" or "not being trans enough"
Simply put I don't give a shit about JKR. Harry Potter and that world meant a lot to me growing up. It's why I got into DnD. It's why I got into games. My dad used to read us the books every night and they mean a lot to me.
With all that being said if you have an issue with the game or JKR then thats totally fine. I get it and I don't think you're wrong.

Hi, I'm girn. I've received a few DMs about the Discord malware talked about on stream and wanted to put my thoughts into text.
I conduct authorized offensive security operations and write malware used during these ops. To put simply, I work with companies to help them prepare to respond to real adversaries. Some of my work involves reverse engineering and dissecting malware to better understand what the bad guys are doing and sometimes replicating their techniques.
During the Feb 14, 2023 stream, @minor nymph shared a malware sample with me that was distributed via Discord and unfortunately some of the community had fallen victim to. I conducted what I'd call a light analysis/reverse engineering of the sample. Goal being to get idea of what data it was targeting and if it was persistent (e.g. could restart/resume execution even if the process was killed or system was rebooted). I may spend some more time on this, but I can't commit to that atm due to professional/family responsibilities.
The malware bypasses antivirus, steals browser cookies, clipboard data, has a keylogger, and is persistent. Without spending more time to identify if it has multiple persistence methods and give advise on how to remove each one, the best remediation is to do a complete wipe/reinstall of Windows. ALL passwords for ALL accounts should be changed using a clean device and MFA enabled if supported. If you had any crypto wallets on the system, take appropriate measures to secure your crypto (I'm not a crypto guy so I can't tell you what those measure should be). Don't click links from people you don't know. Be extremely cautious of exe files or zip/rar archives containing exe files.
If you fell victim to this, please don't beat yourself up. I have extremely security conscious friends and coworkers who have fallen for this kind of thing. I'd be lying if I said I have never clicked a link that I shouldn't have. Crap happens, rebuild, and learn from it.

It's not that much harder to use the HTTP API for it but it certainly is more annoying.
Plus if you are connecting to the Twitch chat yourself over IRC (there are good reasons to do that, for instance staying in the chat while you aren't streaming without having to keep a browser window open), you lose the ability to do any moderation stuff
I suppose it helps make sure that any moderation commands are sent over a secure channel, but that is also weird since TMI already supports secure connections even if they are optional there

I guess this new approach allows more granular control over what a bot can and cannot do, since before you could only grant it moderator status (and it would be able to send all these commands over IRC), or not grant it moderator status and it wouldn't be able to do that.

If a single interaction like this happens and they see someone brigaded by 50+ people that creates a pretty clear pattern.
In order to break that association you need a similar event of people doing positive things from the same community.
Prejudice is built from pattern recognition in circumstances where only negative things are associated with a group.
Even if those associations are made with a small vocal minority within that group.

The notes for attempts on the package are the only ones we have and are technically for attempted deliveries that require a signature so couldnt be left, but some drivers will use those for pickups, and sometimes so say they picked up your package if you just left it outside for them. Now Sometimes the package scan doesn't go through at the truck, so the online status wont change from awaiting pickup until it is loaded onto the outgoing trailer at the end of the night (then would say on way to y, or at x facility) so you can try to check, after 9pm should be safe, to see if it changed, so then you don't have to call tomorrow
