Ryu almost killed him with a ShinShoryu back in the day (it's the scar on his chest) when he was young and tempted by that sweet dark hado. Killed Dan's dad, had a good story scene in SFV from it. Seems like he's mostly "retired" from the crime life and doing his own thing.
