Hello Everyone !

I Am Back after finally playing the Full Version of Mortal Kombat 1 for the first time. And I can say with all confidence, that: The Game is Great !!!!! The Fighting Mode is incredible. I only spended 1 Day playing and, I already had Lots of Fun. There are a lot of Combos you can do and that makes the Fighting very fun. The Kameo System, is also very interesting and gives you many Possibilities for strategy in your Fights. Returning Characters after so many Years !! I have played a little bit, with each one of them. It is very Interesting to see these Characters finally come back like: Reiko, Ashrah, Havik, Shujinko, Darrius, Sareena, Li Mei. I have not decided who my Main Character will be for Gameplay, because they are all very fun to play !!

There is also the Story Mode that is always very focused in the Modern Mortal Kombat Games. I have to say, that I enjoyed the Story very much. It was interesting to see New Versions of Characters like now Raiden is a Human Farmer, Baraka is a Diseased Man helping the other Infected, and Shao Kahn is now General Shao and a Soldier for Sindel. There are other Twists that I do not want to mention because some People may have not played yet. The Story has a lot of Different Threads and is very interesting, and the Climax is very . . . You need to Play to Find Out !!!

I predict, that even if some Hard-core Fans are unhappy with changes to Story and Gameplay, that this Game will eventually be seen as a Very Good Mortal Kombat Game and a Very Good Fighting Game. I am already enjoying myself . . . History will show that This is Right. The Universe Conspires

To be fair || Ermac and Quan Chi are clearly not finished in game. They're like how MKX had Rain and Baraka, borrowing really heavily from previous games. In this case Shang Tsung and Noob Saibot ||

All three look fun. I've been doing Kenshi's mastery first because he's my favorite character in the cast but I don't totally gel with his playstyle, even if he looks to be one of the best characters gameplaywise. I'm not really a stance kind of player, I'm much simpler than that. I like rushdown/bruiser types. Either fast strikes that put you in a corner or hard-hitting and staggering.

I will say that MK1 definitely looks like it was supposed to be Injustice 3, but due to circumstances (most likely the WB Merge), NRS decided to make MK (so they wouldn't have to worry about the DC license), This meant that while the gameplay would be relatively unaffected, other parts of the game's development was hindered.

Mostly just polish and QOL stuff.

Gameplay is really good though, the Story mode is also fine as well and has well the usual jank that NRS Story modes have (it's also the most entertaining Story mode with strong character interaction).

Invasion is a let down, but hopefully they'll take criticism of Invasion to heart and make the maps more fun when rotation happens (probably not the next one, but possibly the one after that. Next invasion is most likely close to completion).

What it needs really is more polish, that's the biggest thing. Just more QOL and small fixes here and there and the game will be be great.

I wouldn't call it unbalanced at all. Just because a fighting game has high damage does not mean that it's unbalanced. There are other fighting games that have high damage and they are perfectly fine.

In any case, the gameplay is good and it feels good to play. It really does, might actually be the best MK Gameplay wise. Much more fun and much more freedom than MK11.

I saw the excitement and joy die out real fast with MK11, life-long NRS Pros stopped playing the game and went to find different games to play because MK11 just did not feel good to them. The reaction to MK1 has been the exact opposite, you can really feel the life in the scene, the genuine love for the gameplay in their voices and excitement that was lacking in MK11.

It didn't, it really didn't.

At least not on the pro-scene, because Pro's and influencers got to play through the various betas and would do updates. You could definitely see the excitement wane before the game even came out.

I know, I was there day one and I'm one of the people that truly do love MK11 (Kollector for life), I own the game on two consoles and was/is die-hard for it. But I saw the writing early on the wall.

That writing isn't here, at least not yet. Will it get there? Maybe, but at this point I doubt it.

The big difference between MK11 and MK1 is player expression and freedom. MK games have always sort of not had it to the degree other big Fighting Games had, MK11 might have been the pinnacle of that. This game diverges from it and allows for a lot more freedom, thus this contionous excitement and discovery.

And player expression and freedom was one of the tenants that NRS talked about in the lead up to release and seem to have delivered upon. In some ways mK1 is slower than MK11, but in a lot others it is monumentally more fun and faster in ways that is incredibly enjoyable.

Peak Player Count for MK1 is almost 10k more than peak player count for MK11, furthermore it has a 20k average player count thus far. (And that's only the steam numbers we know, console numbers are most likely much higher).

That's nothing to scoff about at all.

Cross play has also been promised and is being worked upon, so when that gets implemented it'll even be better for allowing it to thrive and getting matches.

I did agree with you that it lacks polish and needs QOL updates, but despite some rocky things the over all foundation and everything else is sturdy and seemingly promises a bright future.

I know it’s probably a martial arts or Kung Fu thing but I hated how he was always moving and shifting.

Tbh I disliked all of the character stances that had them moving a lot. MK9 was the worst of it with pretty much everyone not sitting still. MKX was better, with the characters generally not moving too much (funny that Tanya was literally just arms-down standing around).

If they have to move a bit I liked MK11 Johnny’s stance and MKX Sonya’s stance. They move a bit, but not too much.
