Have you seen the reactions to the new Street Fighter characters or even the newest revealed character for Tekken 8? Lot of love and excitement there.

It's a chance to show off new gameplay, new fighting styles, to get more representation and diversity into the roster, to show off new gimmicks, expand the world, etc.

Refusing to introduce new characters creates stagnation.

Having new characters is healthy.

You can split the kameos into two different things.

The first half and majority of it is that Kameos are just character plucked from different timelines (the OG games)

The minority is that they are characters in the actual story mode (Motaro and Goro and maybe one or two more?)

It would mean that ashrah’s story line of Havik taking his chaos elsewhere would make it weird that Havik would have Sareena fight with him and then Sareena doesn’t actually appear

It could be different in the story but leaks point to Motaro also being a Kameo and we’ve seen him in the story

So unless Motaro is the unleaded final character on the main roster, there’s exceptions for Kameo only characters
