This is a relatively simple module that I wanna make for my first ever module!

# lilac elbow This is a relatively simple module that I wanna make for my first ever module! ...

It's dull (in the sense that it's not particularly imaginative) but it's very inoffensive especially for a first module. Here are the issues I have with this, though note the further down you go the more it's down to personal preference:

  • I don't see a good reason for it to be five stages, if it were up to me I would only do one, especially since barely anything changes between stages. A good rule of thumb is to give it a number of stages which is consistent with the theming of the module (Simon or Memory modules will almost always have more than one stage due to their nature, and they don't get as dull as what you're doing/working with can change significantly between stages).
  • This is going to sound nitpicky, but the proper NATO Phonetic Alphabet word for A is Alfa, not Alpha. If you decide to include more examples (see the next bullet), you can check the spelling for other letters here.
  • While not necessarily required, you may want to consider having the complete list of NATO letters in the manual, or none at all (i.e. remove the 'e.g.' parenthetical). I personally try to avoid adding examples to manuals as they're often a sign that explanations in the manual aren't good enough on their own, but that doesn't necessarily mean examples should never be used, especially since people learn in different ways. In this particular case I think it should come down to what you think fits the theming of the module better.
  • There's an argument to be made that it is unnecessary to have the first paragraph of your manual describe what the module looks like, because that's partially what the SVG is for, making it redundant, and that space can be better spent telling you how to actually solve the module. Vanilla manuals don't do this for some variation of the above arguments.

i made it 5 stages because i took some inspiration from Green Arrows, so I made it multi-staged (in a sense it's a reverse Green Arrows).

#

ill update the manual later to add some of your tips tho

  • Oh and in the top-right should match the module name exactly so NATO Phonetic Alphabet not just Phonetic Alphabet.

Also you can just simply look at the first letter of the word on the display to get its letter
it could potentially work backwards if you have just the letter, convert it to its whole word, then fetch the letter within that word to... do something
and yeah im not sure i like it being 5 stages

Yeah I'm probably not gonna post it cause it's very basic and was only for practice

I have a really good idea for a module but it's gonna be ambitious

its a neat idea

The correct spelling for this module is the one that's used in the manual. If they decide to go for the common spelling of the words instead of the official NATO guidelines that's a hit to the theming but that can be counted as accessibility, since most people are more familiar with "Alpha" than "Alfa"

#

Both have their pros and cons, depending on the design decision that's taken

its the NATO phonetic alphabet for a reason (the phonetic part causing this problem), plus it should be consistent with most other mods that use said phonetic alphabet
