Been watching games this patch (on and off), plus feedback from my Discord and others, and honestly… it feels like not many people are actually enjoying the game right now. It’s hard to watch at the moment too for a few different reasons.

First off... value-generating units and Scrapper / Pawn Shop
Players should not be able to sell units for a profit. That’s incredibly damaging to game design. We nerfed this once… then brought Scrapper back to 90%. Why? This is not a healthy interaction for the game. Just have units sell for their base value.

Personal suggestion
Scrapper, Scrappy, and Pawn Shop are a mess.

I really hate that we have:
a unit + mastermind that are way too similar in name
a spell + mastermind that are basically overlapping in function

Solution - Just remove Pawn Shop as a legion spell, and rename Scrapper to Pawn Shop. Clean it up.

Champion/Evolution
I've tied these together since they both buff a unit(s) and make the game much more roll orientated. Champion makes sending early so much harder while Evolution just becomes more absurd as they further buff their combo line meaning you have to either sui to break them or starve long enough you have enough myth it doesn't matter.

I'm not sure of an initial solution - I just don't like what it's become. Honest opinion.

New Unit
Boosted Heroic Scrappy has now been out for about a month and it’s insanely busted. It’s holding waves it absolutely shouldn’t. The splash/AoE is way too large and ends up hitting ranged sends that should be safe. I would lean into it being an AoE unit. Change the Wind-Up ability to something else. Maybe it gains a bit of range? or changes its damage type?

DarkQuaker also pointed out it's very hard to see when it is boosted or not since it doesn't show on the tab screen. Having the unit change colour would certainly help.

Witch
Something I have mentioned once or twice. Witch's Frogs currently deal magic damage.
Dread Knight, Gateguard, and Crab Warlock's summons are fortified.
Lord of Death, and Slime Lady's summons are arcane.
Soul Gates summon are natural which is a downside.

Solution - Make Witch's Frogs deal impact damage to deal with more of the units and their summons. While it becomes slightly weaker against the Warlock line itself, it becomes stronger vs their summons which is what it is going to kill. At the moment they are just too slow unless you get a big chunk of myth.

Pack Leader and Safety Mole
Pack Leader may as well have a line in it saying "only send against comps that scale" while Safety Mole has the opposite "only send against AoE or low damage comps".

I think I just miss the old variations of them, when you could tell someone to send aura and ping Pack, Mole and Hermit. Now it feels detrimental to send Pack Leader with Safety Mole.

Smurf Boosting from 2025
I was also really let down by the people who smurf-boosted last season and still got to keep their legend badges. Some of them are now struggling this season (ha!). Honestly annoying and disappointing to see they got to keep the badge. Guess some of their alt accounts got banned instead.

Closing Thoughts
My gut feeling is that the game might just be winding down anyway, especially knowing there’s a new game in the works. Beta soon?

I agree with most everything, mentioned, however I would prefer Pawn shop the stay in the game. Pawn Shop + Chaos/Redraw has been a viable combo for a long time and adds complexity to the game.

Regarding Witch, its basically primarily the counter vs Gates, changing it to Impact would require a nerf to gates. Also, I personally dont consider Witch at all vs Hades and idk why anyone does, Hades vs froggo is just more drakes.

Well having them take Pawn means they arent taking a aggressive spell or buff spell, you can also bait them into losing value by sending a different wave than they expect

I don't think it would be missed too much, and Sacrifice can have a similar result. I'd be surprised if it were actually missed anyway.

sacrifice is alot more limiting, knowing you have pawn shop later lets ppl play more agressive early game with t1 spam since they will be sold for little loss later

I don't think much of it - the one place you'd think it would be abused is in classic but it's seldomly used like that there.

Realistically I don't think you'd miss it if it were gone tomorrow.

Sorry to backtrack a bit here to about the Gates vs Witch. Isn't Pack and Imps better most of the time unless you can garner 3/4+ Witches?

isnt it the same for vs crabs? pack and imps are better if you think u can burst thru, witch is better if you think the fight goes long

Yeah pretty much, odd really Imps are more effective at dealing with summoners (to a degree) than the anti-summon merc Witch.

I also kind of miss the interaction of Witch + Snail spam to get out more summons

one complaint I would like to add about Scrappy is that its too hard to tell the base and upgraded forms appart on the tab screen, and its also hard to tell when exactly its boosted when looking at the unit visually

I'm curious how people feel about Pipsqueak post nerfs. I know that it's not quite as strong, but it still feels insanely strong as an opener and honestly just feels like a better version of PotA in almost every way. It's significantly cheaper, has better typing for most early waves, and can scale just as hard as Azeria (if not harder?) once you upgrade to Lumerian. I cringe a little bit every time I need to send into it.

Also agree with everything in the post. I can see Mr Quacker's point about Chaos + Pawn Shop, but being able to sell kingpins for 100-200g profit is just dumb.

I personally dont think lifesteal is that crazy unless theres also like champion or something

At the same time, its more frustrating in lower elos since players arnt able to save as long or send as big

I think it's just the early pushing potential that gets me. I agree that it somewhat falls off after Wave 11 without champion or a similar buff generally, but it seems to just enable risk-free hard pushing early in the game. I know it's not the only opener that does that, but it feels like the best one to do so with right now. Boney's let you push hard but they at least fall off way earlier.

But you're a better player than I am, so I'm inclined to trust you if you don't think it's that big of a deal.

It is realtivly easy to push with and doesnt have that difficult of positioning compared to pota,

Looking at the drachbot stats Pip opener wr goes down as elo goes up. Other players without pip can find strong openers with 2-3 units instead of pip alone. Im not sure how pip would need to be changed to be weaker at lower elos only
