Hello people.
is a unit that has caused frustrations all around. The design makes it boring to play and play against, hence it also has a low pickrate. Therefore I would like to suggest a rework of the unit. To do so, I would like to brainstorm a few ideas here. Keep in mind that ideas have to fit the "theme" of the unit. I can contribute three ideas, one of which is due to GreenSpirit.
Idea 1 (GreenSpirit): Make Banker statistically very strong, however, instead of giving you gold everyxx wave, he is a tax agent, and you have to pay him some gold every wave. This would fit thematically as he is literally sitting on piles of gold and gameplay wise it would obviously fix the issues.
Idea 2: Banker is statistically weak, however you can pay him gold to make him stronger. He stores this gold in his cart, as long as there is gold in his cart, he is "boosted"/stronger, when he is killed, he loses all gold in his cart. This would again fit thematically and be closer to the original idea of banker's design to have an incentive to keep them alive, but you still need to play aggressively to use the gold you invested properly.
Idea 3(probably stupid): Banker only works if he gets paid. Before the wave starts you pay him (x) gold, so he attacks (y) times during the wave. Afterwards he goes on strike.

Removing seems like a bad idea. There was time and effort put into the unit and I think with some of the ideas mentioned above it might actually be a really cool unit to use.

Let him scale on gold in inventory
I said that one but the developer Drachir from the discord didn't like it 😭
Can also give him powerspikes by gold in inventory. For example 50 gold in inventory let s banker hit a addition target. And if you have 2 bankers this threshhold is 100 gold. And like this u can make multiple levels of powerspikes.

I thought it would make banker really good to shift gold with, like you don't use the ability every wave but when you need to shift gold eg between 6 and 7 it gives him a big buff to do so

My suggestion:
- When you build banker it banks 20 gold and extra 40 gold for upgrade
- Banked gold grows interest 10% and an additional 20% for the upgrade per wave. Or 2 / 18 gold if banker didn't die before upgrade
- You will get the banked gold + piled up interest once the banker dies.
- Banker that has died and gets upgraded, would only have 40 gold banked and 20% interest as it has lost the intial investment of 20gold with 10% interest
In this suggestion, interest amount doesn't grow from the interest that is piling up as I feel it would easily run into "boring design" again
So if you place one down and have it die right away, you get 20 gold?
yes, obviously stats/cost need to reflect that
120 gold banker as an example would have stats of 100 gold, so it's not like you are "gaining" 20 gold out of nothing if it dies the very same wave
So you are paying for the initial “bank”?
One way or another, the unit obviously can't just be free 20 gold for first death. the "interest" is supposed to be the added value

Gain gold based on how long the banker lives for during a round. Encourages underbuilding/greeding more, and allows you to possibly live the dream of creating that extremely long round for fun and profit through the banker.
fuck it i'll throw one in - how about the gold bonus is gained on last hits only - like mimic - like 1 gold every three last hits.... then bigwig form gets 3 gold on mercenary last hits. maybe it could scale with the merc value i dont know. this could make them more interesting i tihnk. death = less gold like usual.
shit go a step further and make it so if the enemy sends merc and the merc last hits the dwarf banker - they steal half of its gold!
any suggestion that makes Banker even more RNG is not a good suggestion 😄
Right now they are very feast or famine. They can hard snowball and feel unbeatable if nothing goes wrong, and if they die to something randomly like an ally leak or a mistake it can all collapse and feel hopeless. Either way one side or the other feels like they lost beause of banker in a way thats not fun.
