I clicked to buy 5x cards while in queue. My game started right after I clicked it, as the card animation started.
After the game I went to see what cards I got and donate them but I dont have any new cards, even though my essence is reduced by 75000.
(I'm kindof surprised this hasnt happened before since I often buy cards while in queue and sometimes the game pops during it, but I've never not received the cards before)

Game happened just after 2pm PST (22 UTC). Its the last game in the log.
Probably a weird race condition or something

If the essence was deducted then you should've received a card, you might need to relog to see it.

Youre right, the next time I logged into the game, it played the card animation and gave me the cards.
