This video says to edit the details.dds file in the skin zip,
but the file dosn't exist in my skin zip file.

where can i find the details.dds file?

Car used in this video is StadiumCarMk2 which uses different textures, and I unfortunately don't have a backup to help you out there

#

But in this case of your car model not being Mk2 you will have to work with another file where the rubber texture is stored in and apply the same technique as the video, and export it as pilot.dds

Yea, no other format that dds is readable by the game

...and pilot.dds because the mais reason being your wheel texture is in there

Go to game files and make a backup of this texture I highlighted here and reexport said texture in this directory path

In example you can change your car's engine sounds without altering the game files so the only car in question is locally affected
