not an expert on tension management, but i think a decent place to start after watching those videos on the concept of tension management, is to start with just trying to notice it instead of necessarily jumping straight to manually controlling it

#

I.e. being aware when you feel yourself approaching lockout, or noticing that youre tensing way too much at certain times, and trying to notice which muscle groups youre tensing specifically and trying to reel those moments in

#

generally if you understand taht you should be incorporating different amounts of tension in different muscle groups, but not overdoing it, and just start paying attention to it, you will sort the details out over time with noticing when you have too much or not enough. For more concrete advice matty's speed matching vid can help with understanding if you have too much or too little on tracking, and viscose's vid has a good tip about using tension to start flicks not to stop them, so you can have a relaxed landing

alright ill rewatch the speed matching vid since its been a while, thank you for your help!

viscose's flick tips kinda confuse me and i for the love of god cannot figure out what method i use for flicks and how to apply what she does. my flicks just dont really feel like flicks and if i try to make them feel flicky i use too much tension and overflick

the gist of it is try to make the flick fast but with a "soft" landing

#

like you want to give the flick just enough gas to reach your destination without having to slam on the brakes when you get there

#

because if you slam on the brakes youll be too tense to transition to a smooth micro-correction

I think the easiest way to visualize it is doing an arm flick and then using your wrist or fingers for the microcorrection, and making sure your wrist/fingers dont tense during the arm flick so they can immediately take over while the arm recovers from the boost in tension.

Building speed without overflicking or too much tension will also just take practice though, its a process. Just something to keep in the back of your mind while practicing static

in this video matty has only like 50% of his arm on the desk/pad, is this key in these situations?i thought that would give him less stability/accuracy or am i wrong

#

my arm just feels STUCK on my desk even with sleeve

how do people move their arm across their pad so easily i dont get it

also could be pressing down too much on the mouse/pad

#

can apply grip tension towards the mouse from the sides instead of pressing it into the pad

Ordered a kibu sleeve and i also have a artisan zero black and raiden coming in at some point. I hope the black zero + sleeve will create less friction

got my raiden and artisan zero soft black in!! black moves a little easier then orange but raiden feels SUPER smooth and easy to move my arm around

#

if my arm would glide as easily on the zero as it does on the raiden my scores would be 20x better

Good to hear, unlucky with the zero

#

yeah im still gonna use the zero for kovaaks and valo tho, ill use raiden for ow and such games

#

is it unfair and dumb to use my raiden for tracking scens?

Nah, people change peripherals all the time. I think MattyOW has multiple of the same mice with different skates
