Do you know why you tense up during games? Such as "I'm afraid of being blamed during a comp game so I get stressed" or "I play an aim intensive character so I'm trying very hard to hit the shots" or "When someone jumps on me I get stressed".

Edit: Because if the same thing doesn't happen in aim trainers, then it has something to do with the change of environment, which most often is any sort of pressure.

i really dont know, id say stress but i dont physically feel stressed about. Like i got on cod to see if it still happens where i know im just gonna respawn and go again live or die. It still manages to happen im starting to overthink my aim and everything falls apart

Oh, if its CoD then its probably mostly tracking aim that is involved and since player models can move quite unpredictably, that could be forcing you to tense up due to inability to read the target.

nah i just used cod as an example to a non stressed situation the biggest issue is valorant mainly, but its all games

Okay, I guess we can confidently cross out any physical cause of this phenomena then. I'd say you should try extensively observing yourself during gameplay and be mindful of what's happening in your head (whether its feelings or thoughts) and try to uncover patterns that precede or accompany the tension issue. Having a mini-diary just for this problem might also help remembering/thinking about it.

So who knows, maybe you'll be able to find out yourself what's causing it and maybe even fix it, but feel free to comeback here anyway and I'll try to help with it.

I play COD Ranked, I used to have this problem at the start now I don't at all

In my experience mouse training reveals hidden contractions.

When your mind is active and you're in a reactive state, pressure will take you further away from stillness, and that chaos translates to your aim.

My routine is 1 hour of meditation daily + exercise, followed by aim training. The meditation + exercise is a complete game changer because it allows you to put your mind into stillness and release restless energy.

Try nose breathing whilst aiming, or in through nose and out the mouth, naturally, and try to focus on releasing restless energy.

When contraction appears (ego grasping, pressure, control), aim scatters. When the nervous system relaxes (through meditation, posture, breath), the pressure ceases.

Here's my tips:

  • Play on a higher sens in kovaks so you can train your grip to loosen. Translate that loose grip to COD, and focus on relaxing through the breath to keep a nice flow of energy
  • Every time it happens to you in game see through it without reacting, you liberate energy previously bound to self-reference
  • Focus on fluidity and flow

that's some good advice right there. meditation is often overlooked in ranked environments, and it's especially helpful since most of the "death gripping" comes from not only poor mouse control, but stress/pressure that translates into your aim, as Austin has said.
Personally, I've found guided wim hof breathwork (you can find that on YouTube) really helpful in getting that stillness and flow before playing ranked. I reckon you try that out, it helps me and other people a ton in clearing that headspace

Thanks. Breathwork is awesome too
