#Static help

Do not spam click, double tap, or double back to click targets you missed
- shoot, then immediately move
Do not hesitate after shooting to see if your shot connected.
- do not leave targets until you’re ready to flick.
Mentally prepare your next flick as you confirm your shot. Do not flick until you’re ready
Submit a new VOD that achieves these guidelines
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyjZGiRDglU one attempt per target done shoot then immediately moove done do not hesitate almost done only one fail but im still so buns i don't know maybe i'm just cooked in static
?
those weren't supposed to make you pb
those were to fix glaring errors in your form
now i can actually adjust your errors since I can see them
you have hard landings with a noticeable bounce to them as you land.
good chance you're using tension in the forearm and the hand to stop flicks
you can't micro effectively unless you save that tension for your fingers to micro
you need to land with less forearm tension.
bring me a run of this scenario; I want you to try and flick without using the following:
- fingers
- wrist
- forearm
ShimmX novice
60cm is adequate
you can use fingers for targets that are directly adjacent to each other; otherwise the restrictions are in place
you see the whole arm move as one unit down to the elbow, yes?
yes
👍
i try
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNfXqPQYb1w 60 cm i used the fingers only when the sphere adjacent to eatchother i tried my best to only move arm in one unit and i think i did good and less tension almost no tension
and i did one attempt per target click then immediately move
Now this motion we are trying here
It should feel almost like upper arm / bicep yes?
yes
Ok cool
Now we do Y axis
ShimmY novice
Use this scenario
Same thing
No fingers wrist or forearm
Do all the work with the larger pulling muscles present in the shoulder
i'm so much slower on the Y axis
idk if i'm doing that wrong
Have you ever pulled on a door?
That is Y axis down.
Shouldn’t need any forearm tension
Look at my shoulder here
See how much the upper arm moves as I move around the pad
yes
Try again
This will be hard if your elbow is below the desk
You might need to sit higher in your chair
I think u should be sitting up more
Your arm is extended really far out
Elbow is up but at what cost? If that makes sense
i fixed it
Nice
Your upper arm should be feeling warm from the exertion
Ok
So the upper arm right?
This will help you a lot with the tension in your static technique
It is a different pool of tension
warm ?
Yes warm; like you are doing a workout
i did the movement good
yes
Muscles should be feeling used in the shoulder
yes its used i feel
Right now, you are doing most of your big motions and small micros with the forearm (red circle)
We want to try and get the upper arm and shoulder (blue circle) more involved in larger motions
This lets us cover larger distances with a different muscle so we show up relaxed and ready to work
Play this scenario on 80CM
1w2ts vertical
Use the upper arm to do all the big movements and keep the forearm relaxed while it travels
When your big arm flick gets there, use your hand to micro to the dot.
This is a very exaggerated demonstration of this, but it’s good for beginners
its 80 cm
yes
Good; that’s what I wanted to communicate
When we use our arm like this it lets us relax our hand in between micros partially
Before, you were tensing up your hand and forearm to stop your flicks and you were starting them with the forearm also.
So that means using tension twice for one flick
And we haven’t even micro corrected yet!
You should also feel that with bigger movements if you arm flick it’s easier to land without needing tension to stop
If you can use the upper arm to help make big movements more, you will have more energy left over to make swift micros
Try 1w3ts again
This time try to involve the arm for big movements
okay thank you
what sens ?
the spheres are too close to each other i feel like i cant use my arm
Ah ok
So we have a new problem yes?
The arm
Too powerful!
😂
How do we only use a little bit?
Largely this will be for you to figure out as you train.
For now, try 80CM.
okay
😭
When I was new
I would practice on 100 or even 120cm
Just so I could even control my arm
Over time, I am now able to do this at 50-60cm
My goal is not to have you achieve perfect control of this new idea immediately
Only to become aware of its presence
So you can learn for yourself through training how you can use it to solve problems
whattt
i'm doing
am i supposed to hit a new pb rn ? or just train
and the idea is ? flicking with the upperarm relax forearm and micro with hand ?
Well this idea is totally new
So a pb might appear
Might not
But you’re only using 2/3 of your arm rn
So here’s what i want you to do
Keep training as usual
Focus on not using tension to stop the mouse for your big adjustments
At the same time, try to start using the upper arm for particularly large movements.
Work on both adding the upper arm into some of your movements, as well as trying to reduce the number of shaky landings at the end of your flicks
Pokeball scenarios are your friend here
Once you feel like you have done a decent job of implementing both of those ideas into your play, a new high score should be easily available to you
wich one should i try 1w3ts or this
If you want something to try right now
Just do 1w3ts at 80CM
What I am telling you otherwise is stuff to practice for the next few weeks
do i send a vod ?
If you want; we are making a lot of changes all at once so I am not necessarily expecting a new personal best from you right away
You can send one anyway, so we can both see whether you are implementing these new ideas into your run though.
i feel like i'm missing a lot of shots even tho i am rlly focused on flicking with upper arm micro with hand
That’s OK too; let me give you a cue to help you focus your energy here
- before you shoot, do two things:
- confirm your shot looks good
- mentally prepare your next flick and tense for the next movement
Do not shoot a Target until you have both confirmed and prepared your next shot. Once you are ready, shoot and immediately move.
Adding in this short pause should help you stay focused and keep your accuracy high. Once your flow state appears and you get to hang of it, reduce or remove this small extra pause as needed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNEGtzfixiM i don't know i'm trying to do the flick with upper arm adjust with hand and everything but i feel like im doing so bad
and sometime im about to do a new pb and like 1 miss and its over
You’re still not confirming enough
Forget about PB for a minute
Add a full pause and come to a stop after your micro is done
Just bring me a run where you have good flicks, secure confirmations, and then shoot and immediately move
And 4 misses or less.
I’ll kick it back if you miss more for now
Nice
Some of these look really good
And you should be feeling nice on these runs
A consistent problem I’m seeing is that you’re overflicking by quite a bit
However
We just implemented something new to help our flicks yes?
yes
So that will get much better in a few days
its on 80 cm too
IMO this actually looks pretty good
Let’s play one where flick accuracy isn’t as important
Find a static variant with more medium sized dots
Twice as big as these preferably
Doesn’t have to be a bench scenario
Let’s try some of this stuff on more comfortable dots
do you know one
Looks great
Let’s try this one so you’re not so stuck in the weeds on flick accuracy for now
Looks good and there’s no heaviness here at all
Alright
I think you’re in a good spot
Your flicks have degraded a bit in response to new ideas
Give it 2 weeks to absorb into your skull
Here’s a playlist to use with these ideas while you absorb them
Coach Ben Static Clicking VT S5 - Novice: KovaaKsChokingLongCrank
IMO looks good tho 👍
I see nice things happening
Keep working on involving the arm when you think it works, and keep working on reducing shaky landings
