You seem really overstimulated in general

#

I don’t think you are really reacting to directional changes like the scenario intends at least for bot 1

#

Can you submit a run of Aether bot one?

#

Try to not predict changes in direction at all

#

Occasionally overshooting a short strafe happens and is normal; you have a shakiness to your crosshair placement that tells me you are simply overwhelmed by what you see

#

Please use 28cm as a sens for this exercise we are doing rn

sour palm
#

28????

topaz mountain
#

You can go back to your usual one afterwards

#

Ya 28 should be fine

#

Perfectly acceptable sensitivity for these kinds of tasks

#

I also did not specify adequately; submit a recording of Aether novice 1.

sour palm
#

fuck me

#

just finished on inter

#

one sec

topaz mountain
#

It’s only another 60 seconds.

#

I can wait lol

sour palm
#

nah its cause i did shit on it

#

ok its processing

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

Tense, shaky

sour palm
#

yeah cause its like 3 times as fast as the novice one

#

keep in mind this was at a sense i dont play on

#

and half my usual framerate

topaz mountain
#

Hmm

#

You still seem overly sensitive

#

Bring me a run of one of these

#

VT Aether entry s5 bot 1

#

Or I believe Vt Aether novice s5 gentle

#

You’re just really freaking out a lot and not drawing straight smooth lines

#

Try to only ever move in straight smooth lines

#

Avoid using the wrist too much here

#

Your arm should do most of the work

sour palm
#

this one?

topaz mountain
#

👍

sour palm
#

can i do it on 40

topaz mountain
#

No

#

You can draw smooth lines at 28 cm

#

This is not something you can’t do

sour palm
#

i got 3140

topaz mountain
#

The footage is what I want not the score I’m afraid

sour palm
#

i know the vod is processing right now

topaz mountain
#

Ok word just checking lol

sour palm
#

sometimes I think im going mad

#

in both definitions of the word

topaz mountain
#

Looks good

#

Play novice again and try to not predict like you’re doing here.

sour palm
#

how can you tell?

topaz mountain
#

Because you’re only changing directions when the bot does finally

#

This is the first video you’ve sent where it looks right

#

Sounds weird to say but this is a common issue for intermediate players

#

Just not playing correctly

#

You finally committed to just only changing direction when the bot did this time

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

You did submit a intermediate VOD.

sour palm
#

i have 0 plat scores

topaz mountain
#

You don’t have to; intermediate is considered gold complete or higher

#

As long as you are gold in the previous scenario, intermediate is a fine label to identify yourself as

sour palm
#

im gold complete

topaz mountain
#

So yes you’re intermediate

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

We didn’t talk abt 2 or 3 but 1 looks better

#

Good for now

#

2 and 3 need to be approached differently but make a different VOD channel for that

#

Warm up the novice variant of bot 1 u til you feel like you don’t predict before you touch intermediate on your reactive days

sour palm
#

bruh

topaz mountain
#

Bot 3 and bot 2 require different methodologies but it’s the same

sour palm
#

i gotta warm up for training bruh
im not gonna hit diamond at this rate

topaz mountain
#

?

#

You’re not doing that scenario right

#

Of course you gotta warm up.

sour palm
#

the whole reason im trying to get gm was to trash streamers in shooters
now i gotta train for my training

topaz mountain
#

The benchmark isnt good training if you’re not doing it with correct form

#

You don’t go into the gym and try to dead lift 400 pounds without working up with some warm-up weights to make sure that you are performing everything correctly yes?

#

I trust that the concept of using lighter working weights to get limber and emphasize correct technique before you move on to workouts that strain you is a intuitive and relatable concept

sour palm
#

I already know proper deadlift form

topaz mountain
#

Even if you know the proper form, you still warm up with a lighter weight before you do your PB attempts

#

Reactive tracking is one of the most technical scenario categories; you need to be getting in adequate volume with correct technique before you play the most challenging variance on your list for the day

sour palm
#

i feel like ground plaza is by best shot to get a plat score

topaz mountain
#

runs need to be like this

#

where your lines are smooth and you only change directions when the bot does

#

if you can't put up novice bot 1 runs where your lines are clean and controlled intermediate will be a miserable grind you will hate

sour palm
#

that sums up intermediate on all categories for me pretty much

topaz mountain
#

yes

#

the transition from gold to plat is mostly about achieving a minimum standard for your form.

#

you should be playing novice and novice hard variants to ensure you are generating correct technique

#

if you sit down and get volume of novice and novice hard with great form, eventually you will be able to crush platinum easily

#

you can absolutely just grind intermediate until plat falls out

#

but what then?

#

then you need diamond.

#

and you still have to fix your form problems

#

unless you miserably grind diamond.

#

but then what?

#

then you need jade.

#

and you still have to fix your form problems.

sour palm
#

are you european

topaz mountain
#

no

sour palm
#

k

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

aether is a really complex bot that takes a while to learn; just focus on learning each bot one at a time with good form and you will have no issues getting all the way to master with nothing other than hours played

#

uh no your technique looks very shaky and like you're overly responsive to what the bot might do vs. what it does

#

watch my run again and pay attention to how smooth my tracks are and how I only ever change direction in response to the bot

#

i dont have to worry about what it might do

#

i just react to what it does

#

its not because of some massive skill gaps or anything

#

i didn't try particularly hard to generate that run

#

i could score a lot more

#

it was just to demonstrate what all runs should look like

#

smooth lines and reactive strafe changes

sour palm
#

does this also apply to ground plaza

topaz mountain
#

yes although those bots also have nuance that requires learning

sour palm
#

i hate the 3rd one

topaz mountain
#

for what aether?

#

bot 2 aether is pretty easy

#

it will do very short strafes up and down

#

and then do short and medium strafes left and right

#

so use the fingers to match the little wiggles

#

and then just track the lefts and rights

#

if it goes somewhere else, react to that and follow it

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

ground plaza?

#

ground is s5

#

plaza is s4

#

which one u mean

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

ok yeah

sour palm
#

i thought they were the same my bad

topaz mountain
#

naw bot 3 is ez

#

well

#

ground is based on plaza.

#

they're interchangeable in terms of what the bots are

#

but ground is the s5 name.

#

ground is 3 bots from older plaza style gauntlet scenarios

#

bot 3 is the thinnest of the three

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

yes

sour palm
#

also fingers?

topaz mountain
#

it's useful for bots that have consistent short strafes such as these

#

yes fingers

sour palm
#

ive never used my fingers for aiming

topaz mountain
#

ok well

#

it's a finger bot

#

so if you wanna score well

#

recommend usin em

#

aether is 100% a ftip kinda deal imo

#

its not a palm grip

#

you dont have to hold it strict ftip but your grip should let you use the fingers for Y axis adjustments

#

bot 3 ground is the thinnest and will obliterate you if you waste tension doing bots 1 and 2

#

all that jittery shaking you're doing?

#

will make bot 3 consistently terrible

#

you need to learn how to do aether and ground with less tension

#

means higher sens and cleaner lines

#

simple as

#

not optional

#

this category does not scale with high tension

#

especially s5

#

where it's designed to punish you for it

sour palm
#

damn

topaz mountain
#

aether 3

#

so ez

#

just a small bot with very gentle evasion

#

be smooth

#

but since its small if u are shaky from high tension u are screwed

#

there's a reason i'm telling you to play on 28cm and draw straight lines

#

and its not because i Just personally enjoy making people miserable and out of their comfort zone

#

its because your technique sucks and you're going to have to fix it eventually

#

might as well be now

#

with me showing you the exercises and form

#

fix it by doing adequate volume on the novice scenarios to really just make sure you're able to keep up without using a lot of tension

#

and you'll find bot 3 gets a lot easier

sour palm
#

this is gonna be dumb but

#

how do i "use less tension"

topaz mountain
#

well for one you gotta stop freaking out when it comes to your visual processing

#

you're super tense because you think the bot might do a lot

#

comes from being uncomfortable reading bot behavior

#

turn the scenario

#

and just watch the bot move around

#

if you watch it for a bit eventually you'll understand better about what it likes to do

#

and that lack of surprise translates to better confidence and smoother lines

#

you dont need to grip the mouse at all

#

the arm should do most of the line drawing

#

if you're a wrist aimer you are generally going to have a bad time for learning reactive

sour palm
#

im an arm person

topaz mountain
#

for the basic fundies, your arm should do all the lines and the wrist sparingly* handles direction changes

sour palm
#

and generally i hate static

topaz mountain
#

sorry

#

wrong word

#

ground 1

#

notice smooth lines without shaking and responsive, controlled direction changes that don't guess or predict

sour palm
#

(500 more points than me in bot 1)

topaz mountain
#

bot 2

#

notice smooth, low tension lines without shaking, and responsive, controlled direction changes that don't guess or predict

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

bot 3

#

this bot is thin, but also has gentle acceleration for direction changes

#

so as long as you have tension left in the tank to be smooth you can score well on this one

#

@hearty gale

#

your novice bot variants aren't done right

#

bot 2 and 1 is just the novice scenario.

#

bot 3 probably the same but I didn't check for sure

sour palm
#

getting closer

topaz mountain
#

@sour palm do you have any questions about the basic properties of the bots

#

or what I'm telling you to focus on when it comes to form guidelines for these bots

#

if you pb today on intermediate or not, doesnt matter; i just want you to understand what 'correct' looks like and start training on the novice bot variants so you can get practice doing it right

sour palm
#

smooth, speed matching lines

#

and only change directions when the bot does

#

dont predict

topaz mountain
#

Hopefully watching me do novice variants with very clean technique that achieves high scores demonstrates how reliable it is

sour palm
#

cheat??

topaz mountain
#

Yes

#

Predict

sour palm
#

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

#

I HIT PLAT

#

@topaz mountain THANK YOU!!!!

topaz mountain
#

Ya sleep on it and spend the next few days playing novice at 28-31cm with a goal of really clean lines and you’ll hit diamond

#

It isn’t hard

#

I appreciate you sitting here and letting me drag you through increasingly beginner exercises

hearty gale
#

like both of them are the same bot?

topaz mountain
hearty gale
#

oh

#

shit.

topaz mountain
hearty gale
#

😭 i wish i knew about that earlier

crystal peak
#

lmao

topaz mountain
#

And yeah I’m the only one that uses them

#

Because new aimers just grind the bench and don’t play the variants

#

I use the bot novice variants for teaching

sour palm
#

novice on 30 cm

hearty gale
#

checked the others

sour palm
#

hey i know that guy

#

@topaz mountain I will come back tomorrow with either static clicking or some switching scenario

#

im not sure yet

hearty gale
sour palm
#

so there's an imposter among us?

hearty gale
#

i am hoping that was the only one

topaz mountain
sour palm
topaz mountain
#

Nice beginner gainz

#

Sleepin on it def doing most of the work

sour palm
#

hmmm

#

maybe the score reqs for gold should be buffed????

topaz mountain
#

They’re not that different

#

Difficulties always are rooted in the same problem; people don’t understand correct technique and the harder size and speed owns them

#

If you learn the right way to do it then they really aren’t that separate

sour palm
#

guess I'm only learning the right way now

#

bot 2 is still kinda weird

#

i wanted to see if I could get 3500

topaz mountain
#

It will change again for advanced

sour palm
#

how exactly?

topaz mountain
#

Understanding just has to change

#

It’s the same fundies

#

But more detailed optimizations

sour palm
#

i see

#

also im more comfortable on 30 cm

#

got the aether pb on 30

topaz mountain
#

But those optimizations need to
Be on a bedrock of good habits

#

30cm is 👍 for all reactive this season

#

It’s just scary at first because it feels shaky

#

Once you stop freaking out it’s chill

#

And you enjoy how much less work it is

sour palm
#

holy shit

topaz mountain
#

Still beginner gainz

#

Will get hard around 2500

sour palm
#

its getting hard now lmao

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

Ez

sour palm
#

sorry didnt record the vod

#

robin told me to underaim on bot 2 and I guess it worked

topaz mountain
#

Good advice

sour palm
topaz mountain
#

Huge…

sour palm
#

id much rather do tracking

#

anything but static clicking
