#How to improve?

This is a really dumb question, and honestly kind of embarassing, but I've been stuck in bronze/silver of the benchmarks for the longest time. No matter if I do VDIM or any improvement playlist, I'm still stuck at the bottom. It's honestly been pretty demotivating seeing a fluke high score and then going back to the same scores I get every single time like it never even happened. I don't really know what to do, it's really frustrating being stuck at the first step.

I've been training for roughly shy of two months. Like I did VDIM for two weeks but the 1.5 hour playlists really took a mental toll on me so I stopped and went to just finding shorter playlists that people had for training.

Roughly 30 minutes. After that, I can't focus and go on autopilot

Have you tried taking breaks for 5-10 minutes after the 30 minute mark?

Not really, I usually just do all my aim training and then hop into games after.

@placid pagoda Hi Jhana, I've been aim training for around 130+ hours now and just started working towards Plat on the benchmarks. I was stuck in bronze and silver for quite some time so I feel your pain. What helped me was just focusing on improving my worst scores. I used VDIM too but started focusing just on improving my weaknesses by making my own playlists with scenarios that would help improve them. I also started only practicing for around 30 mins it helped a lot. I would focus on the one weakness at a time and train 3 days a week to work specifically on that weakness. Both MattyOW and Viscose have some great videos on Youtube on how to improve and show what proper technique looks like. I would suggest watching some of those if you haven't already.

@versed matrix Thanks for the in-depth reply! I have watched a lotof Viscose's content but not Matty. I've tried to put into practice what I saw in Viscose's videos, but I just can't seem to improve. In terms of making my own playlists, I don't really know what's good scenarios to work on so I try to follow the footsteps of other people.

My clicking is by far the worst category, but no matter what clicking practice I do, I can't seem to get better at it (some of my clicking is still in iron).

Also I have ~40 hours in Kovaaks now and I'm still stuck at the bottom D: not looking good here sadly

Like if you look ata trendline of my attempts, they have just been going downwards, especially in clicking and I really don't know how to practice aim.

Matty has a pretty good video on making your own lists its called "How I Build Aim Training Routines"

#

Clicking was one of my weakest categories its very technique focused simple in concept but hard to master. Matty has some great videos for how to play Pasu and proper static technique. And don't worry about if the trendline is down progression is never linear it will always have its ups and downs. Its consistency and practicing good technique that will lead to improvement.

in what game are you trying to get better

Like outside of Aim Training? Overwatch. The funny thing is that I hit masters the other day but my aim is apparently dogwater XD

#

But I realized that my aim, amongst other things, is definitely holding me back. Especially since I can't get out of bronze, I'm making critical mistakes that must be solved in some way so I can climb higher. Also, like I tried playing Val (I don't particularly enjoy the game, but again, could be because of my garbage aim) and I couldn't get past Iron LOL

I've been trying to learn aiming recently too, except I'm like below Iron (unranked), even getting past Iron is quite difficult for me lol. Just curious, what kinda sensitivity do you use? In clicking scenarios, when you watch the replay, what does it look like your crosshair does in general that usually causes the clicks to not work out?

Say for me, one of my big weaknesses is tracking, and I think a big issue for me is I can't really effectively use my arm to track, I never really used to, and I often physically run out of desk space too. My arm movements are very unstable / imprecise. Maybe tension of my arm makes my arm tracking more jerky and such.

#

Maybe clicking scenarios are like, using arm / wrist to flick (depending on distance), then fingers to micro adjust? Then maybe it's finger control that can be the issue? No clue, I'm trying to understand this stuff myself (especially how to use fingers + wrist + arm all together at once)

What type of clicking are you struggling on?

My issue with static clicking is that at a certain speed, I feel pretty comfortable hitting the targets (in my head it's usually like a metronome) but whenever I think of speeding that metronome, I always miss and I can't seem to go faster whatsoever.
