Hardstuck Ascendant 2 Val DM Help
I'm actaully the same elo - asc 2, so don't take my advise too seriously, but reviewing the video what I can see is that you have a bit of trouble reacting and micro adjusting to the moving target. Your pre-aim looks very good and as soon as the target is stationary you don't seem to miss your shots, but when the target is counter strafing or even moving in one direction you kind of have delayed aim and lagging right behind the target.
I had the exact same issue and I feel like investing some time in control tracking helped me a lot, but maybe someone more experienced can give their advise as for how to improve it.
yeah i feel like for me its been difficult to hit players with decent movement
its why ive been pretty much ignoring static and started working a lot on tracking and dynamic in the VT benches
to add to this, it becomes even more difficult when im also moving, so i need to learn how to aim while moving while simultaneously aiming at a moving target
im just not entirely sure how to work on that sort of stuff
One thing I notice off the bat is your movement mastery is lacking.
- I would recommend looking at your vod at .25 speed and just looking at the bullet trackers or your movement or well movement accuracy(weapon).
- a small thing is crosshair placement, you don't have 0ms reaction time place your crosshair more away from the angle unless you are hard clearing that tight angle for a reason.
- another thing is learning to "trace"/ "peel" the angle. While it's great to clear each angle, it takes time. Peeling is effective when you have heavy angle advantage. Slicing is better when you need to abuse peekers advantage by swing the angle ( you have a heavy angle disadvantage)
how do u practice/learn this?
from what ik, u use the range or an aim trainer to isolate/practice an individual skill (i.e microadjustments, flicking, dynamic/static) and u use deathmatch to apply that practice onto players
but how do i do smth like that when learning when and how to slice and trace?
Custom lobby is the easiest way to isolate the concept. B main or A main attacker side on lotus, or attacker side b main is a good practice tool to learn this imo.
This channel has a good point of view when it comes to gun fights. It takes the raw data instead of wishy washy 50/50s

also i feel like i mix tracing and slicing already, so im a little unsure wym by learning it. is there smth particularly wrong with my technique?
Mb, learning isnt the right word. You do it well yes. However it gets a bit too blended. You need to take steps and time to breath. 2:40 is a good example of the problem. Second, more pertaining to tracing. Our crosshair is in the wall a bit too often. Let's say someone were to peak you. You would trace more than 150 ms more than the angle the enemy is coming out of before you realize he is there. + you would have the effect of "overflicking" as you have to adjust your mouse back to where it was.
Edit: 3:30 is a good example of bad movement. Constantly adad no aad or dda. As well movement inaccuracy that I suspect is from not expecting the enemy to be there
i think the adad is just due to muscle memory. but i feel like when i watch people do movement variations, it looks as if theyre doing it by muscle memory.
but that contradicts what i think movement variations is since the skill looks like something you have to perform consciously.
or maybe thats the wrong perspective?
