#Can't figure out how to grip my mouse

I understand that generally speaking, the advice is not to worry about your mouse grip, and to hold it however is most natural to you. I don't know if it's because my mouse is too large or too small, but I've ended up with an extremely unorthodox mouse grip that I think might be affecting my aim.

I've put everything in the imgur link. My main concern is the asymmetry of my wrist resting on the pad - the right side of my hand is completely flat on the pad, and the left hovers. I think this is leading me to instability in my aim, and in the video you can see I'm very limited in my micro range particularly towards the right side (even if it looks like a decent range, I'm really pushing it for the video to the point it hurts my wrist).

Is this a scenario in which it'd be justified to adjust my grip? It's not something I'm too happy about but I'm willing to do it if it'll address my issues. I have a grip that would allow my wrist to be fully flattened on both sides on the pad, so is a lot more symmetrical, and is generally comfortable, although I have to quite literally remind myself to use it without drifting back into the old one.

Would appreciate anyone's input on this. Happy to answer further questions,
Thanks.

this has no help to your post or issues, but your grip is extremely similar to the pro valorant player zekken's mouse grip. Just thought it was funny LOL.

i always thought zekken had a fingertip grip as opposed to my relaxed claw - looks quite similar though

Maybe you would be helped by exploring other mouse shapes. If you are open to that, I really recommend using the EloShapes website and explore what might fit you more. Maybe something even more ergonomic/asymmetrical than the DAv3 would fit you more.

For your current setup, try to incorporate more arm motions. If you're range of motions for your wrist/fingertips gets limited by your natural/unconscious grip, then draw out more arm motion/dexterity to compensate. Still mess with your hand grip if you think that will help but also consider using more arm mobility/dexterity to also compensate for a narrow range of motion from your hand grip.

For the second part, I am predominantly an arm aimer and play on low senses, so it doesn't affect me too much. However I am trying to play on higher senses, both to increase my mouse control and for fun, so would be nice to find a solution.

Honestly, I thought about the mouse shapes thing, and I wonder if I'm holding the mouse in such a way BECAUSE it's an ergo. Odd thought but perhaps an ambi mouse would force a more symmetrical grip
