starting to grind voltaic in kovaaks. hit gold complete and not that far off of plat, with some diamond tracking scores. i can already tell static is going to be my nemesis. im hoping to reach master complete and possibly even gm someday, ill be keeping track of my hours too, i think it will be interesting to see how my rank/progress corresponds to time played. i play on a pulsar superglide glass mousepad and i shoot with spacebar instead of left mouse button.

goldcomplete 4/17/25: Gold Complete at 23 hours
platinumvoltaic 5/16/25: Platinum Static Clicking at 47 hours
platinumcomplete 5/19/25: Platinum Complete at 54 hours
diamondvoltaic 6/1/25: Diamond Static Clicking at 75 hours
diamondcomplete 6/4/25: Diamond Complete at 84 hours
jadevoltaic 6/10/25: First Jade score (VT Raw Control) at 95 hours
mastervoltaic 6/10/25: First Master score (VT PGT) at 96 hours
mastervoltaic 7/7/25: Master Complete Tracking at 153 hours

havent had much to update since ive just been hardstuck on static for a week, but i finally got the first new step to plat. i decided to go for DotTS first since im abysmal at flicking and it should also help me with 1w3ts and ww5t. ive bounced around between various routines like VDIM and making my own routines but ultimately what ive found most helpful, at least for this benchmark, is editing the intermediate and advance benchmark scenarios to 20 seconds and grinding them until i can actually hit the plat pace. going to grind the static clicking scenarios next (who knows how long that will take) and then linear/dynamic

havent been grinding that consistently but ive probably put in about 20 solid hours just doing static since last post. i definitely maxed out my natural aim coming into voltaic and have actually had to grind to improve, my clicking aim still feels very bad but noticeably better than when i started. finally got plat in static, though with minimum scores. 1w3ts was difficult and took most of the time but ww5t followed quickly after just from getting faster and more accurate. ill try to get full plat in clicking, then target switching should be pretty easy for plat complete. someday ill get to do tracking again lol

#

its a little daunting how hard it was to increase my scores from 990 -> 1120 in 1w3ts and 1140 -> 1310 in ww5t (even though 20 hours isnt that much really), from my starting intermediate benchmarks to plat. +130 and +170 in score respectively. getting to jade from where i am now in static will require another +180, and i know it will be much more difficult to make improvements as i progress

got frogtagon and floating heads plat, and also got close on pasu after a short time trying, so i think ill have clicking fully plat pretty soon (unless popcorn is too hard). grinding out static has massively helped all my other clicking scores and made linear/dynamic feel much better. im also already very close on most target switching scenarios, so i think i should be able to hit plat complete in the next few days. even though i got a decent floating heads score for my current progress it felt really bad, like surprisingly difficult and inaccurate and bad despite the score. i feel like that scenario has a lot of carry over to fps games in general (any kind of semi auto hitscan) so i might grind that for improvement once im plat complete.

after about 50 hours plat complete is done. the remaining scores were all pretty easy, though pasu and popcorn took a little bit of work. improving at static was really the key for this climb, it significantly boosted my performance in target switching and dynamic. i know static to diamond is going to be a lot of work but i might start on that first since i know thats my main weakness, and it will probably hold back other categories

back to static. was able to pb on both 1w3ts and ww5t by a little bit. also pb'd on a bunch of practice scenarios i use. ive been using speed scenarios to try and develop a sense for diamond+ pace and the elite/elite hard 1w3ts scenario for improving accuracy

1w3ts 1122 -> 1141
ww5t 1310 -> 1340

#

decent pb on 1w3ts, it might be a little early to say and maybe ill regret it but i actually feel like im pretty close to diamond. i can definitely hit diamond pace its just a matter of consistency and endurance for the full 60 seconds, and not getting psyched out when i realize im on pace for a pb or diamond score

1w3ts 1141 -> 1172

at long last, i have finally hit diamond in 1w3ts. this was a grind, similar to going from gold to plat it took about 15-20 hours. i had a significant jump at some point, i went from having difficulty replicating my personal best around 1140 to being able to consistently hit around 1200, with a couple 1217s. like i said previously, it was just a matter of not messing up good runs and having one run with good pacing and endurance. for pretty much the entire time since plat complete ive only been playing 1w3ts, but i did also hit a pb in ww5t and i dont think that will be too far off getting that diamond too

#

here are my current scores, most of it is the same i think except i played raw control for a few minutes since that and aether were my only non-diamond tracking scores, i wanted to see what i would get and randomly put up my best score of all benchmarks. hopefully 1w3ts diamond was the main hurdle, similar to in plat, and everything else will fall into place now. i think dynamic clicking might take a bit of work but at least i get to shoot at targets that move again finally

#

ok NOW i can officially actually start shooting targets that move again

#

diamond complete in clicking done. just like with plat it seems like the static grind has a lot of carry over, this only took a few hours. floating heads i even nearly got jade and feel like i could get a jade score if i played it a bit more. the rest came pretty fast, that was my first pasu attempt and it broke diamond. the only one that felt a little hard was popcorn. i hate popcorn

#

i havent played any target switching since plat but hopefully they go fast too. im just under 80 hours, hopefully i can hit diamond complete by around 85 hours

#

diamond is COMPLETE. was a bit harder than i expected but its been awhile since i played any of those remaining scenarios. i also forgot to get DotTS back when i was grinding for static scores, so that ended up being a pain. and even though my static has improved a lot since i last played DotTS i didnt feel like i was much better at it. one thing that has helped a lot is accepting that i should use different sensitivities for different scenarios. i wanted to use one sense as much as i could, and it kind of feels like cheating to change it between benchmarks, but ultimately with the way the scenarios are set up it just doesnt make sense to run the same sense on all of them. it also feels like it helps me develop different aspects of mouse control and fully utilize my fingers/wrist/arm/shoulder for different sensitivities

#

came in at just under 85 hours, ive been grinding today to get those last diamond scores lol. i think this is a pretty big milestone, i feel like my aim and mouse control have noticeably improved (especially in my weaker areas), and i think this also marks about the limit of my skill coming into kovaaks and aim training. i feel like i understand the fundamentals of aiming and have played the scenarios enough that these scores represent my peak skill currently, so everything from here will require true improvement to progress further

#

the jade grind has begun, i only did a little reactive today for fun though since i dont want to go back to static yet. spent as much time working on refining my routine as i did playing but it paid off since i got a big pb on aether 2574 -> 2862. almost jade, might make it my first jade score since im very close

how r u so equal in everything

nice progress too

thanks. if you look at the screenshot of my benchmarks in my first post i was way ahead in tracking in the beginning. im pretty even now because i grind a scenario until i hit the next rank and then move on to a different scenario instead of pushing further. like ive probably played 40 hours of static clicking since i started, since it was my weakest point by far, and maybe only 5-7 hours of tracking because that was already my strongest skill

muted coral
#

here are my current benchmarks. ive been playing more routine playlists as opposed to grinding benchmarks, i just need to get better. the more i improve the more aware i am of how bad my aim is lol. im currently doing mostly precise/control tracking. i was trying reactive at first, as the first thing after diamond complete, but i simply dont have the mouse control for it, even if i play reactive properly my tracking is too shakey and im too bad at speed matching. so back to control/precise for now. my first jade score is VT Raw Control, at 95 hours.

#

i think the plan is going to be push Raw Control, Controlsphere, PGT, and Snake Track while also playing static daily. i havent played much static lately but i think getting to jade is going to be a grind. well see, but i have a feeling i might hit master in these tracking scenarios before jade 1w3ts lol. i think if i push these tracking scores and 1w3ts, then ill be in a good position to get aether/ground and the rest of the clicking and switching scenarios

muted coral
#

uh guys looks like my feeling was right about hitting masters scores in tracking before jade static. i havent even played static yet today and i just hit my first master score out of nowhere lol. i had like a 2950 on PGT intermediate so i only needed 100 more for jade, figured id be able to hit jade today. next attempt was a juicy master score instead

#

@cyan finch hey brotha i see youre a mod, big fan of the playlists and scenarios btw. i updated my original post with voltaic emojis and apparently Bob didnt like it, the bot said it had too many emojis so it deleted the entire original post. any chance mods can see or restore deleted messages?

got jade in snake track. i dont know if the scenario is just generally harder than PGT or if im just a lot worse at it but i find snake track to be much more difficult. i need to get a lot better at speed matching, especially staying consistent on long tracking movements and also decelerating, i constantly overshoot when a bot slows down/changes direction. i think jade tracking will be completable pretty soon, if that happens i might even try to push my tracking scores to master since my PGT score is giving me some confience. im also dreading the clicking grind, my scores are abysmal now and i will not be posting them lol. i havent played static since i got it to diamond, i shouldve been playing it a little at least daily to maintain.

#

this also marks my first 100 hours of voltaic aim training in kovaaks. ive been very careful to only have kovaaks open when im actively playing, and avoid as much idle time as possible. theres a little bit of time from managing scenarios/playlists, but i think this is pretty close to exactly 100 true hours of playing. i dont think i ever posted my initial benchmarks either, so here is my current benchmark sheet compared to where i started 100 hours ago.

#

also now that im closer to master, i think my long term goal is grandmaster. i still require a lot of improvement to reach my original goal, but it seems a lot closer than when i started. and as ive improved ive realized how much better my aim could be. even my best score, my master score in PGT, didnt feel as good as i would have wanted. i think grandmaster better represents the level of aim i want to achieve eventually. so here are my current advanced benchmarks, i havent played them much (only as practice for the intermediate scenarios) but i think it will be interesting to look back on later

gold -> diamond complete (currently) -> master -> gm

#

not much to report except a jade score in controlsphere, havent been playing as much but will hopefully be back at it next week. even though my scores have gotten better my tracking still feels bad, need to practice a lot more. i want to get master tracking scores so i focus on that while playing static every day too

muted coral
#

didnt play for about the last 10 days, combination of wrist pain and a bit of burnout from playing a lot. i dont think i used my wrist to aim at all prior to aim training so its definitely requiring some adaptation lol. im back on it now though. a few pbs but no rank improvements, despite the break my aim actually feels pretty good and i havent regressed

muted coral
#

here is my current score sheet. you can tell what ive been playing, only my tracking scores have changed lol. im jade complete in tracking and approaching some master scores. this is what ive been doing while procrastinating the clicking grind. ive also been playing a bit of tsk/slapped benchmarks for smoothness and reactive. it definitely helped with my aether score, almost hit master today. i can also consistently hit PGT master scores now, idk if that scenario is generally easier or if the scoring is more lenient but i feel like im away ahead in PGT compared to other scenarios. im kind of just grinding master complete tracking i guess, ill play static later today though and start playing clicking every day.

#

currently sitting at 130 hours. honestly thought id be jade by now but i havent played any target switching which i could probably hit jade in a few scenarios, and floating heads too. ive just been pushing jade/masters tracking for fun. ill probably push for master complete tracking while also playing clicking daily, then work on the jade complete grind

muted coral
#

got raw control and controlsphere to master today, also pb'd on the advanced benchmarks for them. just have ground, aether, and snake track to go for tracking, and im very close to master in aether already. i think the plan is get master complete tracking, then dynamic/static clicking to jade, then the rest to jade for jade complete, then back to dynamic/static to master, and repeat finishing with linear clicking and switching for master complete. maybe even reach some grandmaster tracking scores by then too, since ill start working more on the advanced tracking benchmarks now

#

also completed all the tsk reactive benchmarks by slapped today, these are my initial scores. some of these scenarios are nightmarish

i played 2.5 hours of snake track today. it was a struggle to get it to master after barely being able to get a jade score this week. i think i hit multiple 3720s scores too, kept grinding and finally hit a master score. i thought this would be one of my better scenarios and easiest to rank up, but so far its been the most difficult tracking scenario for me (other than ground maybe). pgt master was easy and i feel like i could even push that score higher, but for some reason snake track was much more difficult. ill play aether/ground tomorrow, hopefully i can hit master complete in tracking this week

muted coral
#

coming up on 3 hours of playing VT ground today, pb'd from 3117 to 3268 and my average score is much better. not stopping tonight until i hit a master score

muted coral
#

ok i surrender. new pb is 3322, so close to master. and my average is way up now, like 3050-3150, whereas before today it was more like 2700-2800 and i was struggling to hit jade scores at all. just couldnt hit a 3350 today though. i feel like i learned a lot about how to play the scenario and am much more confident at it now at least

#

now time to play aether

muted coral
#

played aether a bit last night but didnt get master. warmed up for 30min and got it first try with what felt like a bad run. i think i could push this aether score way higher if i played more and went for a good run, but for now all i care about is master. so thats the end of intermediate tracking, master complete tracking at 153 hours. everything was pretty easy except snake track took a bit of work, and ground took by far the most work, probably 6-7 hours of grinding on its own.

#

now ill remake my tracking routines to focus on the advanced benchmark. it feels like just yesterday i was working my way through plat, crazy im working towards grandmaster scores now in several categories. here are my current advanced benchmarks, ive barely played them except occasionally as practice for intermediate benchmark attempts. now time to grind static to jade and get jade complete
