#Did i accidentally buy a really shitty monitor?

The only difference that it would make is if the monitor has bad ghosting due to poor response times or introduces any form of extra (perceived) delays.
Other than that, swapping to a different screen size usually is met with a slight adaptation period to the bigger size.
ive had it for approx 2 months now
More than likely just general inconsistency
would you say that a performance drop of approx 20% that stays constant for 2 months while using that 27 inch monitor is just general inconsistency?
There are countless and countless of factors that can impact the way how you play that you have 0 control over.
Unless you notice a severe increase in (perceived) input delay or very bad ghosting, it is not the monitor.
but if they stay consistent for 2 months straight? maybe its the monitors settings or something
Again, it can be countless of factors. You likely are doing more things wrong now that you simply are ignoring because you are too focused on 1 monitor being better than the other.
Do you notice any significanty different in input delay or ghosting between the 2 panels?
settings in question
but it feels very wonky, like my crosshair isnt going where it has to go at all it just floats around, i switched to old monitor for a sec and immediately played better the next round
but it feels very wonky, like my crosshair isnt going where it has to go at all it just floats around
That is a very broad thing that yet again can be impacted by countless of things.
Can you please answer my questions - do you notice any form of extra (perceived) delay to your inputs or ghosting?
Yes to both id say
Alright, then it could indeed be that your monitor is not giving you the responsiveness that you are used to from your former 144hz panel monitor and likely have made a small downgrade in that regard.
We can be very perceptive to extra additional delay, and if that is indeed the case here, that is what you are noticing then too.
Do i just sell it and buy some different one?
That is up to you. If you are not gonna use it, either as main or as second/third monitor, it is best to sell it. Or you can keep it around in case your main monitor ever dies.
Yeah it will probably be the secondary monitor but thank you for the advice, sucks a bit buying a faulty/shit monitor
The panel on the 240hz may not have as good response times, but that is me judging that without looking up a single review on it
i continued on experimenting with settings, not willing to give up on the monitor and i think some of the issue i had was placebo? idk how to put it in other words, ive been using exclusively my laptops screen which is 165hz for last 3 months, now i went up to 240hz, and i tried setting my val fps cap to 144hz and it just feels much better, so maybe the smoothness was throwing me off
I guess so.
