#I can't even get a rank

Hey, I went through and done the Voltaic Novice Benchmark and I done so horrendously that I couldn't even get a rank, any tips?

DPI: 1800 (I think?)
Sens: 0.22 (Valorant) [I like to switch around sometimes, I prefer higher sensitivity due to less mouse space but usually I range between 0.175-0.4)

I use a Razer Deathadder essential however I can't change the DPI so whatever the default is on it is what I am using.

I am not new to pc gaming - I have been playing pc games for roughly a decade now and especially shooters for the better part of atleast 7 years. My aim used to be really good in a majority of games that I played such as Fortnite, Valorant, COD (MW19, Coldwar, Vangaurd, Warzone [5kd player quick flex], CSGO). I hit the maximum rank in Fortnite arena and the new ranked system multiple times, in Valorant I would consistently top frag in ascendant and immortal lobbies with a high HS% (I can barely hit a shot now) and struggle in gold lobbies with aim)

I took a break from shooters to play Rocket League and a few other non shooter games that don't have many, if any, shooting or mouse aiming mechanics that matter, with friends for a few months and ever since I came back to playing shooters my aim is horrible on every game, even the games I used to be extremely good at.

Any tips for improvement or any areas of critique? (Sensitivity maybe? idk)

Hi mate, First off welcome.

Its hard to judge without any video to see you do these scenarios.

Try be honest with yourself when doing each task, are you over shooting consistently that the sensitivity is just to high even if you like it.

or could be the other way around are you massively under shooting where your sens is to low.

Hi, Thanks for the welcome!

I tend to do a bit of both however not at the same time, sometimes i overflick and sometimes I underflick - when tracking I usually miss or am lagging behind the target and when flicking I may do a mixture.

I just re played through the benchmarks and recorded it this time, dragging and dropping the videos onto here doesn't work, any recommendations for where/how I should upload the videos?

upload them to youtube and post link

also be nice for you to get youtube channel to see your own progress aswell as others

dry tartan

Alright, I'll upload it to youtube. I haven't ever uploaded before so please let me know if its alright xD

Also I listen to music when I play/aim train so hopefully it doesn't get annoying to hear (sorry in advance!)

heres the link:

Not a problem at all obviously if people can see the vid its easier for them to see it in action and where your going wrong, unfortunately im no expert but I have a lot years in CS and Valorant scene in teams etc

There's the channel i just made, I'm just putting the videos onto them, also if songs are copyrighted do i need to mute the audio or is there any workaround like if i make the video unlisted?

Not sure about stuff like that ask chatgtp usually good for information

ah i hit a daily upload limit

#

to get verified it'll take a day to 2 motnhs o.o, ive uploaded some of the clips thought so thats atleast a starting point?

You had a long pause from FPS. Just like anything, when you come back, you perform far from when you stopped : imagine being able to run a marathon then stop running for a few months and try a marathon again. Depending on the length of the pause, it can take a while to get back to your former level.

#

To give you an idea, I played far less Aimlabs and Kovaak's lately, my level is now closer to Gold than the Platinum I managed to get.

I understand, my break was about 3-4 months roughly and I have gotten back into shooters for the last 3-4 months already without seeing myself gaining my skill back although its roughly the same time on and off I don't think that matters too much? Maybe I need to start training my aim differently or having a decent routine?

patent agate
#

Try the fundamentals routines to remove the rust from your break, and focus on your execution. That's what I would probably do first for a few days.

dry tartan
#

Could you link me or direct me to what fundamentals routines I should try? Also by focus on execution do you mean play for higher accuracy even if I have to play slower?

patent agate
#

Consciously think about how you do it ( check the guides from the link), record yourself to review your runs and identify your issues ("Am I over/under shooting constantly ?", "Am I shaky in my tracking ?", etc.)

#

This is how you identify your core issues to work on them in your training. It could be being more relaxed with your grip, reduce the speed of your flicks to avoid overshoot and focus on landing accurately,... I can't give an all-in-one solution : this is something you must do for yourself, and if you don't know how to solve some issues, but know what they are, ask for help.

#

There are a ton of resources about techniques, so it can be hard to know where to look. People here can often point you in the right direction.

Quick question, Should I be using the same crosshair in aimlabs as valorant?

Hey, I was playing this scenario called " VT PEEKSHOT VALORANT EASY " and I noticed that when I am flicking I often click too early and slightly miss the middle target when flicking back. What would my issue be there? Is it microadjusting and click timing, if so any basic scenarios to help me improve on this?

you set up your kovaaks for right sens settings etc also take off gun models

dry tartan

I'm on aimlabs, also how can I take off gun models? - Figured it out xD

are there specific settings I should be using on aimlabs?

check out youtube guides on "best settings"

You can always inspire yourself from VTMatty, who made a video about his settings in Aimlabs and Kovaak's. He's one of the best and has multiple world records. Here is the video about Aimlabs : https://youtu.be/tQZAJnFsl9A .

# dry tartan Hey, I was playing this scenario called " VT PEEKSHOT VALORANT EASY " and I noti...

For this one, I would first train the core mechanics of dynamic clicking. While I see how you would want this scenario for training in Val/CS, you seem to be rushing because of the small time frame for each target. If you want something similar that will allow you to train your movement reading skills and technique, train first on something like "VT Floatshot VALORANT Easy". It uses targets that move horizontally, similar to peekshot ; but since you only have to click and switch to another target without a limited time window, you will be able to focus on your execution. Relax, read the movement of your target, try to flick where it will eventually go, not necessarily right on it (reading movement), while avoiding overshoot (even allow yourself to track a little to "confirm" you will hit). This is one of the scenarios you can use to work on your issues, but there a lot out there that could be useful. That's only my opinion on the matter though, there are much better people than me to give advice.

Thank you so much! 🙂 I really appreciate all the help! Ill give it a go soon.

dry tartan

I decided to give the valorant benchmarks a go, should i first get all the scenarios to gold or move on to intermediate? (also is there a thing such as gold complete or am i making that up?)

patent agate
#

I don't think you need to be gold complete before trying to go intermediate, however I would try to be at least silver everywhere. The step between gold and platinun is steep.

dry tartan
#

gotchu thanks

dry tartan
#

I've made some improvement and gotten a bunch more to gold (whilest just aiming for silver) but theres some that I can't manage to break my HS on - mainly the ones at the bottom that im still iron in and the bronze skyclick - 3 shots per kill i cant seem to get the hang of it, any tips?

U can be silver if u improve ur control tracking

#

The energy (the number next to ur rank) is weighted to ur weaker categories so if u improve ur weaker categories that number will increase more

#

Great improvement for sure

# subtle fractal I think gm is achievable for almost anyone

Fr? It was a struggle to even get to this point and I haven’t been getting many more high scores after these, also would it be a good idea to look to a new mouse? I have 2 mice on the same dpi with the sensor feeling much better for one and smoother but a lot heavier and the other feeling a lot lighter but the sensor feels a bit janky

subtle fractal
#

I feel like u can get masters with just knowledge of good technique and lota of practice

dry tartan

If ur bronze, just learn how to do each category. For example, static, you make a flick close to the bot, then you micro adjust onto the bot then click. Then just practice the technique by running playlists etc

dry tartan
#

Okay I’ll do that thank you!

I saw that it says 103 fov for ow, if I play with apex legends or valorant selected as my game what should I change it to?
