I think training not optimally, or your standards getting higher.

there are some biological processes that happen, slowing reaction time comes to mind. But I think people blaming aging is a cope. The worsening of the body is so slow, like even F1 drivers make it into their early thirties. So in my opinion 17-21 is almost definitely something else than pure aging, whether it be less physically fit, playing less, less healthy overall, drinking, etc

only at 21 do you genetically get worse at anything really. Even your immune system gets drastically stronger until 21 same with reaction time

I'm a beginner at aim training though so don't know if it's different for that

its almost never an age thing your reaction time get better if you see the stimulus youre reacting to often you probably just have a training issues. there are pros in many games that are pushing their late 30s

I started aim training at 22, im 23 now and my eye hand coordination has skyrocketed. I know its not exactly reaction time but think about catching a falling ball the skill has improved a lot
