I do this in game and in training where I will flick to a target and sometimes just autopilot the micro adjust or not even micro adjust at all because my brain thinks they are already dead and I move on, do I just train more intentionally on the target im flicking to and not the one that comes next and hopefully this goes away?

This problem is most likely caused by just overconfidence.
id focus on the part of your aim that makes you leave targets alive.
Lets say in like target switching if you dont flick onto the bot well enough you might think youve done more damage.
it you dont track the bot after the flick for long enough you might leave the bot alive.
you should record your gameplay and figure out what is making you leave targets alive and work on it.

I have a feeling its similar to how some people when they arent used to shooting guns the like premptively tense up before they shoot trying to stabilize the recoil and instead end up missing the shot because they counteracted recoil that hasnt happened yet

Its like I get caught up in the pace of going from target to target that when the initial flick is bad and the micro is slow then i just move on because of the tempo ive had up to that point
