#Achieving better aim / Start of the journey 11/5/24

Started with VDIM intermediate routines but they seem to be above my level so went back to novice
Also doing demon1 routine but the improved version by minigod
And struggling big time with tracking and micro adjustment benchmarks
tried finishing aimlabs benchmarks on monday but ended up frustrated with the evasive bots and anything that required a little bit of tracking
today just pushed for plat complete in valorant benchmarks
and VDIM dynamic clicking kicked my ass since i tried doing the intermediate again but i think i have to stick with novice for that specific category
I think i also put too many attempts in benchmarks because im just pushing for at least getting a high score but i would be probably better of doing specific training playlists
tracking been weakest point
When i watch vods it seems so much slower but when i play and move my mouse while focused on the target its like sped up
This might be obvious to some but i noticed that if u move in opposite direction of a target you perceive things going faster then they are
thats like most applicable to scenarios with multiple targets
havent played valo in five days instead been just doing vdim and other routines
today i got my artisan zero mousepad about to go ham in valo
already feel so much better in practice range going to to go for comp game lets see how it goes
did weekly benchmark ended up just trying to go for diamond so spent a lot of time just pushing through them probably not the best idea
feel like im brute forcing it too much
will try to get diamond complete and then chill for couple weeks with benchmarking and just focus on vdim routines and push for valo rr instead
Diamon complete
ngl some of these took me so long and i know i can improve on some scores but some seem impossible to improve atm
also nice little streak on aimlabs
Grinded the whole day to just get the last plat rank
in hindsight it was probably not worth it to just bash my head against the wall like that but hey
plat complete in the building
top 6 in a weekly leaderboard is kinda exciting all tho this task feels odd
sometimes it feels like it just wont register hits and difficulty of it just odd imo
Was constantly getting around 40 scores and now finally hit the PB
Had to focus on Accuracy and micro adjustments
Me when realizing i need to slow down to have a grasp of the situation
I figured out that my finger aim is underdeveloped i tend to jitter and tense up when there are targets in close proximity and require micro adjustments
little bit of progress
Taking a little step back from VDIM routines because im just re running the scenarios until i hit my pb and it's taking a shit of time and i am ending up just sore and i dont think im taking a proper rest
Will try to focus more on rewatching my own vods and putting less time on retries
are you trying to pb every scenario in the playlist 😭
Yea lol
yeahhh that aint gonna work
the longer you do it the worse that’s gonna get
ur already diamond the noobie gains are starting to wear off
don’t worry so much about pbing everything every time cuz that becomes increasingly unrealistic as you progress further
just be mindful and engaged with what you’re doing and work on good technique and you’ll see results
Ye i just have higher expectations of myself i think and im being humbeled rn
wish i had actual numbers i end up just leaving my aimlabs open because im just exhausted and i dont want to start all over again the playlist
how long do u aimtrain for
i dont keep track but pretty much the whole day
anywhere between 4 and 6 hours probably with these pb pushing scores
after around 2 you start to get diminishing returns tbh
ESPECIALLY if you do it all in one sitting
lowkey i still do it that way
I do take breaks when i feel fatigue
pb every scenario or at least match/get close before moving on
but i do think im just bashing my head against the wall
too fucking addicted to scores
getting reasonably close is one thing ig that resembles matty’s method
i satisfy that by just playing different stuff
most of the time ill sit on a scenario for maybe between 10-30 mins
trying to crank out what I can then I switch to something else
keeps me from going totally on autopilot
yea i got the idea from matty's vid
even he says it tho
one of his rules is to cap it at 2 hrs
otherwise the physical and mental fatigue are too much and ur best calling it a day
he said 2hrs cap for 1 scen right
pretty sure for a playlist
yea but he also said he would play like 8 or 9 hours when grinding for ready check lol
that’s something u gotta be careful with
note that he also was having a lot of problems with his wrist
also why its super important to stretch and stuff!
I’m not saying you can’t or shouldn’t grind long hours but like be mindful lol
yea true, stretching and doing some rehab or something similar with bands is helpful
take care of yourself know ur limits etc
a lot of times if ur really stuck just call it a day or go to something else
come back to it later
Ye ive watched a lot of aimers content regarding it and i thought its fine but im experiencing rn two days straight soreness in my shoulder blades so im reassessing my methods
yea definitely if youre getting to the point of physical pain its time to change something or take rest
personally i used to play on really low sens and my shoulder would constantly hurt but that went away completely when i dialed it back down a bit
well higher sens lol
^
i just need to make sure that i have enough rest while i develop some of the muscles ig
yea dont force it
ye tottaly thats what im doing rn especially since i noticed that my aiming with my fingers are very poor
this is excluding all of the resets
i def could have just put more time into analyzing more of my own vods instead of retrying over and over
perfectly normal graph tbh
if it doesn’t look like a rollercoaster ur not doing it right 😂
ye im not worried about that its just the amount of attempts
it's too many in hindsight
yea that does seem like a lot ngl
I mean it kind of makes sense considering how long you say you sit on scenarios
it’s fairly likely you either are autopiloting, burning yourself out, or both when you play them
imo a good reset wouldn’t be a bad idea
take a day or two off allow yourself to adequately recover, then come back fresh with a different approach
ye thats the plan i think
sweeet
man i played valo after few weeks of only playing aimlabs and i feel like ive gotten worse but i do feel so much better with my mouse movement and comfortability with flicks and all that but i just can't seem to put thing into practice
and i think the reason could be that im just overstimulated with all ingame information and decision making that makes be backtrack to my old habits
and another reason could be that it feels natural to think that u should perform better after all the training ive done and because of it i put pressure on myself and psyche myself out
To address these issues i think i have to put some time into the ingame practice alongside the aimtraining and try to make aiming techniques that ive learned a second nature
I also have to constantly remind myself to chill and don't put any unnecessary pressure onto myself cuz i know im getting better and i don't need any validation with match mvps
yep u got it
ended up just grinding angleshot and waveshot cuz i really felt like i could get masters
omg so happy with this tracking progress
was on pace of a master but managed to even not get jade lmao
oh shit i reaaly feel i can get masters
these scores feel so good because i rememebr struggling with tracking and always thought its my weakest category
diamond complete lets go
static fiveshot and multishot seems super hard as of now and reaching masters in those two seem unreachable atm
happy with tracking progression and some tracking seem to be even possible to skip jade and go straight to master
really thought i could get masters on sphereswitch but kept on getting same score with missing 2 targets
tried taking breaks tried switching things up tried watching my own vod tried comparing other peoples vods and i just kept falling short 2-4 targets off from masters score
pretty exhausted at this point so just calling it a day
hopefully jade complete by the end of the next week and start pushing to masters
little behind on vdim so prolly going to try a bit of sphereswitch tomorrow and move on to evasive switching
omg finally
i dont know if i can repeat the score tho almost feels just lucky
taking a little break and will continue with vdim
i really like how vdim incorporates benchmarks scenarios
Man skyswitch seems like an easy task but i cant make an improvement
Noticing that i tend to overshoot and wait for the bot to cross my crosshair which is hindering my speed and im also losing time at the end when bot dies and im still not switching target
Trying to work these things and on top also trying to be not shaky with my flicks is proving to be difficult but im noticing some decent improvement my previous high score is now my avg
Another annoying thing is that i start getting the hang of the scenario but i start to feel fatigue and after the break it feels like i need another few attempts to get into the groove
Trying to incorporate short breaks and vod analysis inbetween runs so i dont exhaust myself as much
Also trying to figure out the tension management between short range and long flicks
Okay another note these bots should really be just considered static targets it makes it easier to be aware of where the next targets are and to flick on their center masses in a subsequent manner
there we go
i had some runs close to the pace of masters as well
i want to push it but like im tired but i feel im in the zone so prolly going to try for another hour before going to call it a day
four targets away
cant get consistent pace for masters so ima call it
I would reset if i stop tracking a bot before killing it cuz you did that 3 times and 3 bots = 75 i mean you don't exactly lose 75 but you get it
but honestly i think you will hit master soon on skyswitch maybe some time you slow down when bots are close while i would personally go faster since im less likely to miss a close target
Sometimes i feel like im min maxing so much just to get over that score threshold while other people probably start min maxing to get way beyond these thresholds
like ive been trying to not linger on bots and now because of it sometimes i leave bots alive with one hp
Ive noticed that my static flicks especially on close targets been weak and probably working on that would be more beneficial than this minute things
I just realized how tracking improved my static aim
smooth tracking in particular made dynamic click scenarios way more readable just because when u move at the same speed as the target there is so much more vision clarity and another less obvious point i think i was weak in certain areas of my finger wrist or even arm movements and tracking scenarios helped me isolate these specifics parts
fumbled at the end could had 59 or maybe 60 score
