#road to master after a 1 year "break"

trying to get used to this new grip i got for this mouse, gotta say it feels great yet disorienting after moving from the viper mini
had an issue where i'd get major screen tearing playing reactive tracking, good thing i remembered about fast v-snyc being a thing in nvidia control panel. thanks alot dave
toning it down to novice routines
i feel like im trying to run before knowing how to walk
Will be posting weekly updates starting today. Currently working with the voltaic fundamentals playlist rather than VDIM as I have seen hardly any progress
Week 1
thought my aim was just fine until i did the benchmark. got significantly low scores compared to my past averages, but maybe it was because I was half asleep doing the benchmark.
going to continue with the voltaic fundamental playlist until next week and see where it gets me, might course over to VDIM.
Week 2
I think i got my former aiming skills back, continuing forward with VDIM
moved from fingertip to claw grip due to mouse shape
Week 3
changed my mentality in aim training, doing vdim now feels less of a chore. overall skill level is still the same
reduced my sens in kovaaks to a higher senitivity regardless of scenario to improve my hand stability
this week's goal: improve hand stability
Today while playing VDIM evasive switching I realized my hand assumed a different mouse grip than I was usually comfortable with, I honestly didn't expect I would be using this grip at all
It is that grip where you put your palm on the mouse instead of your pad
and using your fingers as friction instead, since the palm gives too much friction
I've also discovered that targets move way more slow when you have them on your crosshair
this whole time I've been over-aiming them
great discoveries today, even set some PBs
Week 4
h
i think i skipped a week but i cant remember
oh well
scores still the same, dont know whether i should train with this grip or just use my normal grip
maybe ill just stick with my normal grip and just not even think about it
grip feels great on valo but performs worse on static scenarios
- it was the micro adjustments.
Week 5
almost forgot that today marks the 5th week but here i am. anyway today i did the routine as usual and after very long weeks i have FINALLY achieved two platinum ranks on static clicking. from what i observed, I was not paying mind to "bot viability" and have unoptimally choosing stranded bots instead of the ones that are closer to each other, I hope im not cheesing it, and after watching Matty's VOD on multiclick I realized he didn't utilize his wrist, so i followed suit and my score jumped. i was honestly surprised. it also felt as if i didnt need to micro adjust as often as before, i didnt realize my wrist was holding me back, maybe because i've been using 30cm/360 these past two weeks to train my precision? probably. (using 50cm/360 for static at the time of writing)
just a couple more steps
Week 6
An amazing week. I have achieved 4 more platinum scores this week. one of them are even diamond! im finally showing progress. looking forward to the next week, hopefully ill be platinum complete in the next 2 weeks.
Week 7
Once again broke through and got 3 more platinum scores. I might hit platinum complete next week, reaching diamond is closer than I thought
🥳
😁
Week 8
not much happening this week, though i have grown more conscious about rank farming. if i do it too much, I fear that my benchmark scores arent faithful to my real in-game performance. but on the other hand, having to hyperfocus on the scenario would also still be considered good training as long as im not cheesing. Overall, I need to find a balance between the two and have a healthy mindset that doesn't deviate from my ultimate goal - better aim. If anybody just so happens to be passing by, second opinions are greatly appreciated!
Week 9
yet again nothing special has happened but I do notice that my average scores are improving
climbing up gradually
decided to go faster in static clicking so that something happens, something indeed happened
looking forward to next week
Week 10
my progress is still the same as ever.
at this rate im going to run out of things to say if nothing changes next week
i got another diamond score tho
...
yeah im switching to the voltaic fundamental playlist next week
Week 11
got another diamond score.
yeah thats it, gonna do the voltaic fundamentals tomorrow
Week 12
had to skip the benchmarks last week because i was busy
I am truly running out of things to say.
future me, did i improve?
Week 13
no you did not.
so I will move on to Voltaic Fundamentals Diamond
future me, did it work?
how much do you play per day?
on average, an hour and a half
Week 15
Changed my schedule to play 3 different playlist per week, Tosoka, Voltaic Fundamentals, and VDIM
going to take a break this week though
meaning score reports are going to occur once every 3 weeks from VDIM
h

Week 16
dude i absolutely forgot to do the weekly report
💀
anyway i will now be switching to jade fundamentals because my plateu is detrimental.
Week 17
i forgot again.
but i overcame my plateu
it took forever for me to realize that I needed more challenge (fundamentals two ranks above me) and timely feedback (highscore bar)
looking forward to next week
ill continue training under jade fundamentals until this week's VDIM
Week 19
forgot last week's report
amazing
Summarizing last week:
Did full jade playlist and was breaking PBs everytime
This week; playing Master playlist
will start playing VDIM next week
Week 20
2nd day on VDIM and it feels like hardly anything changed
and I cant exactly pin point the problem
I may be rushing things by playing jade/masters
then i guess ill have to train at a slower pace minding my technique/fundamentals
Week 21
I was indeed rushing things.
I was playing scenarios harder than I could handle without developing proper fundamentals beforehand.
I realized this and have resorted to aiming more deliberately
meaning I was actively aiming and paying attention unlike prior weeks where I basically "got used" to the playlists and autopilot as a result
Other than deliberately aiming, I also slowed down and am honing my fundamentals further
and as a result
broke 2 PBs
and even reached diamond through energy!
going forward, I shall now continue this grind of deliberate aiming and fundamental honing
Week 22
focusing on scenarios with the least amount of energy with either the voltaic weakness playlist or just playing the VDIM playlist accordingly
taking a quick break for today tho
Week 23
still focusing on static
following shimmy's technique
basically forced to go back and work on fundamentals
going slowly
but i can see the improvement
hopefully ill be content with it next week
Week 27
continuing the grind
but with 1 day intervals due to my tighter schedule
will do the benchmarks on the weekend
Going into indefinite hiatus due to personal matters
