#Good games for new/bad players?

I'm Voltaic silver so not the best on aim, and I've been trying to use Aimlabs to improve at CS2. The problem is mostly that in CS2, everyone is way better than me. I genuinely get votekicked in like 25% of my games because they'd rather take the teamsize disadvantage pay than have me on their team. I'm really just playing in Comp so that I can eventually get a rank (Silver 1 lol) and then ideally be playing with people closer to my skill, but I'm currently at 5/10 ranked wins on Dust 2 and it's looking like it's gonna be a while until I can actually get ranked and be able to play with people in my range.

Are there any games that are better for my predicament? Ideally I don't want something with a huge amount of special mechanics and abilities to learn like Overwatch, just a relatively simple shooter that's more friendly to beginners where I can play with other people at my level.

i think you should just keep on playing CS2 man, instead of being demotivated cuz of your skill and switching to other games

battlefield 5 maybe?

Just keep playing cs2 and get better and aim train

#

i know fuckall about util though and unlike aimlabs there isnt really a utility trainer

#

the skillboost was momentary im shit again

You should watch demos from pros, it's gonna help you for utility usage and might help your gamesense too (which is way more important than aim imo)

Getting kicked out of a quarter of your games because you have bad aim? Are you sure that's your only reason? I feel like there's missing context here... even then keep playing. In CS in particular your aim is not what's gonna win or lose you games most of the time, esp when you can always shotgun or awp abuse when u cant hit a headshot.

There are no "intro" fps games, or any genre for that matter. You just need to commit to the game u like and in this case, evaluate if it's just your aim holding you back.

I could be getting into some semantics here that I don't care to debate, but OW would be a much more forgiving game to play from an aim perspective because CS is not a simple shooter mechanically. If you like CS, consider giving valorant a try. It's a tac just like CS, but with some slightly different mechanics you may find yourself enjoying more.

as a silver or beginner, you don't even know why a pro is doing I'd say about 70 % of what they're doing and they definitely dont have the same level of communication with anyone on their team, even if its a friend it cant compare to a professional esports team.

Its kinda like telling someone who's learning how to do math to just watch a mathematician do it. You can watch them all day, you may even pick up how to do it, but do you know why you're doing it? The application? These are the things CS and Tac shooters at large will ask players to consider.

TLDR: Watching pro players help only when you got the right context to understand whats going on.

But I think this goes to show you have an overall lack of information on the game than it has to do with your aim.
As a beginner, you're gonna have a lot of stinkers stat wise. It just is what it is, but what you can do in that time is aim train and learn about the mechanics of the game if you actually care to do so.

now on dust2 it almost never happens anymore

#

but the other ones where im still getting hsed to it

#

also when i tell people im new theyre forgiving

#

so i think they just dont assume im new cause cs doesnt get a lot of new players cause the game is so old or smth idk

#

anyway i tried valorant and its literally night and day

#

for matchnaking its so much better, its actually putting me with my skill even in unrated

harsh gorge
#

Maybe you should start playing val and revist cs another day

#

but the issues you seem to be having have nothing to do with your aim it sounds like.

#

Just gotta learn the game

warm peak
#

i mean aim is one part of the equation

#

other people juat flick faster and more accurately and i lose most duels

#

but game sense and everything else is off too

warm peak
#

val util is so much more intuitive too

#

even tho theres more to learn theyre easier to learn

harsh gorge
#

yeah its by design

warm peak
#

its way more beginner friendly than cs

#

especially in the matchmaking system

#

my main thing that makes me want to play val over cs is that i get put with ppl of my actual skill level almost all the time

#

from what ive heard cs premier has better matchmaking

harsh gorge
warm peak
#

yeah but faceit is for people wat better than me afaik, val is good tho and aimlabs/vt has hella valorant materials too

If you're truly getting kicked 25% of the time then it might be worth switching to Valorant until you're mechanically sound. Otherwise you can always do the prefire workshop maps to practice clearing common angles. The prefire maps helped me a lot when I first started. Also learning lineups will help.

warm peak
#

depends on the map

#

on ones im not very familiar with i make a ton of stupid mistakes

#

its often when people are like "HES JUNGLE HES JUNGLE NO DUDE OTHER WAY HES JUNGLE" and like that kind of stuff (not jungle in particular but like replace with some callout i dont know)

#

and then i dont see them and get killed and they kick me lol

#

it isnt just bad mechanics but bad game sense because everyone in those lobbies, even at silver 1, has been playing for so long that every one of those words is second nature to them and they know the maps like the back of their hand

#

theres simply no way for me to compete with that in the short term so i figured ill get my other mechanics up by playing a game thats more friendly to beginners (which ended up being val)

#

and then eventually i might come back to cs if i want but honwstly valorant feels more fun overall anyway so i might just stick to it, we'll see

#

i mean really, this is the main problem imo

#

probably about 10% of players are gold nova or higher? which means 90% of playerbase gets squished into silver/unranked

harsh gorge
# warm peak on ones im not very familiar with i make a ton of stupid mistakes

something i would advise doing until you learn callouts better (this is where watching pro play can help too, helps u learn call outs and common spots people like to play since this def translates to ranked modes) is utilizing your ping button. and when in doubt, say the name of the room that's on your screen. It may not be perfect, but its better than nothing and an experienced player would rather take that than nothing.

i think it might have just been a sample size thing

harsh gorge
warm peak
#

i simply hadnt played very many games at the time

#

and i think i was simply unlucky

#

since then i have gotten votekicked like

#

once

#

and like someone else did too

#

so that was probably just a queue of 3 people who were kinda collectively toxic

harsh gorge
#

Sounds like you're playing and having some good progress. Nice

warm peak
#

i do some cs from time to time but mostly playing val for the time being

#

as it is more beginner friendly than cs

#

likely as just a function of being relatively new

#

it seems thats the game that new players are more likely to gravitate to and therefore theres just more people at my skill level

#

im mid and even top fragging sometimes

#

and ive had some pretty good games in cs too

Dust 2 isnt part of the cs2 competitive map pool so nobody is going to play those maps. Also all of the in-game modes are a joke so nobody grinds those.

#

so very misleading data

#

Dust 2 is home of cheaters and trolls in cs2

warm peak
#

fair enough

#

the curves weren't too different between maps

harsh gorge
# warm peak

This is very typical data... what are u saying?

warm peak
#

i just used dust 2 cause its the map im most familiar with

harsh gorge
#

its pretty much just premier if u play mm

warm peak
#

valorant is very typical data while cs is very skewed towards silver, meaning that lower ranks are more competitive in cs than in val

#

yeah people have said do premier or faceit

#

stay away from regular comp

harsh gorge
#

ima tell u now that ur cs data is misguided

#

ur looking at the wrong game mode that no1 plays

warm peak
#

well, whatever is the cause, it lines up with my experience very closely

#

of like

#

matchmaking

harsh gorge
#

because u were playing the wrong mode lmao

warm peak
#

yeah

harsh gorge
#

Silver isnt even an actual rank in cs2

#

its replaced by an elo rating

warm peak
#

yeah im somewhat familiar with the elo system

#

i think that elo is preferable to ranks anyway

#

just like in general, i havent seen how it plays out in cs

#

but from what ive seen in other genres of games that i have more experience in, elo systems usually feel more accurate

harsh gorge
#

it plays out fucking horribly

warm peak
#

ohp
