how many hours you consider a extensive training?
@gusty flower
Up to 5h a day, with small breaks.
I am orthopedic training in spec. My ward is quite famous for our hand surgery sub- department. We don’t see hard core gamers operated for carpal tunnel syndrome. Repetitive tasks and “overwork” aren’t proven risk factor for this condition. Gamers most commonly suffer from some sort of tendinitis- notably flexor carpi radialis syndrome which has kinda similar pain location distribution. With severe swelling within tendon sheaths people can get transient symptoms from median nerve too, but is is not consider carpal tunnel syndrome
The highest I've been tested at so far is 1.5/10 for CTS, though it still causes pain when I play in specific positions. I believe he was more worried on developing any kind of CTS and wanted to know how to avoid that. Very cool job btw, nice job getting where you are.
