Your pacing is the issue. You approach closer-together targets/clusters at the same speed as you do wider targets. Let your pacing be more dynamic, meaning: speed up a little more to acquire the dots that are in clusters/closer together and take your regular/comfortable pacing for wider targets given they are harder to hit.
