#How do I get better at tracking

I play Aimlab mainly for fun, but part of the fun for me is being able to improve and see my numbers go up. I play a decent amount of val (immortal, 2k hrs or so) and so I think my aim isn't terrible but since val has like 0 tracking my tracking skills fall significantly behind the rest of the categories. I'm currently gold complete with plat in every category except tracking, and I'm looking to maybe hit plat by the end of next week or the week after if possible.

I play .38 800 -> for the tracking tasks the targets move so fast it causes me to have to pick up my mouse every 10 seconds and I'm just not used to that kind of movement on my mouse.

Also sorry if this post is super general or I didn't go into too many specifics - I guess I'm kinda just looking for general advice so

It also might be worth noting that I don't have many attempts + hours on Aimlab, it's moreso just a thing that I started checking out recently

Simply more practice.

general tips are:

  • Keep your grip relaxed. Tense grip can make tracking more difficult.

  • Eyes on the target, not the crosshair.

  • If you play scenarios where the target can switch directions at any moment, don't predict the movement. Pretend the bot is going into 1 direction indefinitely and only react when you need to react.

  • Your sens calculated to 43cm which should be fine for tracking, but if you feel like it is a bit too slow, try something faster like 35 cm (0.46).

  • In terms of resetting the mouse, that is also a skill that you basically have to develop. There are some tracking scenarios that cannot be done without any form of resetting, no matter how fast the sensitivity is. You just need to find the best moment to reset the mouse.

  • If necessary, try looking up slower/easier variants of the same scenario and practise your technique on there.
