something i've noticed is that a lot of the time when people - not comp players just average folx - get tilted they focus the blame outwards instead of redirecting that into something productive, e.g. reviewing their own vids to see where they could have done better. without that it kind of cycles; die, get mad, usually call the person who killed them bad, don't reflect, repeat. it seems to lead to genuine tilt instead of just understandable brief frustration

#

this isn't the case for everyone but it's a huge part of the tilt cycle from what i've observed

Additionally I will have teammates or friends that don't think at all, they just turn there brain off and react to thinks with no plan and it just works out for them

before i even try to suggest anything, what all have you tried/are doing to help prevent tilting?

One think that does work and I have tried and still try to improve on it the idea of "not caring". Obviously you can't 100% not care about a game, especially when it's competitive. You need to care to a degree to focus and have the energy to play at your potential. But in my prime I would Q hours at a time with no noticeable decrease in the quality of my performance and would end the day with no resentment for losses and not an inflated ego from winning.

This subsequently lead to a good starting point for the next day because I was just trying to improve apon the last instead of trying to beat what I had done the day before

i know exactly what you mean even though it's hard to describe accurately lol. i guess what i'd suggest is maybe start journaling. it might sound lame but if you track your moods, what's going on in your life, and how you perform in game + how quickly (or even just if) you get tilted, you'll start to be able to see patterns. hell, sometimes i get cranky b/c i haven't eaten

yeah, the tracking all your stuff can help with that. you might be able to see like... .. hypothetical situation, say someone was getting enough protein and that affected their performance positively. some days they didn't and it dropped their performance and that lead to them getting tilted; if they kept track of things, they'd be able to notice that trend and then apply it so the in-between days are more even

also, question - when you review things you could have done better, do you keep track of those in like a notepad or something? sometimes it can help to have them written down so you can pick one or two off the list and then focus on those solely. it's not as overwhelmingly frustrating as seeing a billion things you could be doing better
