I’m trying to use fingertip in a way where I rely on my fingers to pull my mouse up and down (almost back into the palm). And at the same time I’m trying to still use my arm wrist and fingers for horizontal aiming. I’m struggling with finding a sensitivity for this and was thinking am I forced to use a different x-y sensitivity. I’ve ordered my HSK PRO 4k for this purpose and was wondering what kinda sensitivity I should aim to be around for this or how I can find such a sensitivity AND are there any guides that show a proper fingertip grip with the vertical adjustment

i dont think there's a need for x y sensitivities. the one u should use is the one comfortable for u. simply change grips until u found one thats comfortable, or stick with one and u will get used to it
also u always can move mouse with fingertips in almost all grips. which game are u playing? pick a sens thats fitting for the game(unless u have a looooot of hours being proficient in one end of the sens spectrum, then its beneficial for u to stay with it while playing)
try "relaxed claw" its my grip and i can move fingertips pretty well as well as aim horizontally
I'm akin to you rn, using 27.8cm/360 with a GPX. Hope this helps
Is it working for you?
yes
Is see what would that be in valorant sens I’ll go try it out, Not it sure how to convert cm 360 to sens
you might wanna go a bit higher, I'm on a 24" screen rn so try something in the 20s-30s but don't replicate mine if your monitor isn't 24.
Mines a 15” rn
ok that's defo gonna work then, just set my DPI to 600 which is around my sens in CS:GO that I've stated, finger y-axis flicking can flick to 3/4 of my screen height. Sorta extreme though, I'd bet 23cm/360 would work out better
BTW I'm a CS:GO player. wider map angles, larger variety of them.
Needs to be higher can’t go from mid to 90* up, gonna try higher
This is a dilemma indeed, what I want is a really high y sens and a low x sens
High y sens for the vertically but is there a fingertip technique that improves vertical height cuz I could be doing it wrong. I want a low sens for accuracy, hmm…
I think you're gonna have to think about the maps you plan for this to work out on
Forgot to mention I play overwatch so there’s lots of flying people
Kinda just tryna get a high vertsitilty sens that allows full vertical reach ig, not map specific but general (can work across all the fps game I play)
welp you won't want anything in the 10 range, or lower than 40 I'd say when it comes to cm/360 esp in Overwatch. Been there in the 10s, loved taking pot shots in krunker but couldn't do much else since tracking was futile and static weakly consistent at best, prefer low sens. I'll experiment in CS:GO soon, will get back to you. How does 20cm/360 fare?
sorry was thinking 2 dimensional here, forgot the model in most games where the map surrounds you and you stand in the centre of it.
wont high Y sens and low X sens mess up your diagonal aim? just train vertical aim with ur current favorite sens. which sens are u on usually while gaming? the most i would do except training it would be to raise it slightly but not too much
This. If people are constantly flying around, then that means they're some distance apart from each other which can be covered more quickly by a higher sens, so I'd say try a y axis sensitivity that suits you and train it for x axis. What I'm saying is that this is beneficial in that you can easily switch between aiming at people flying in the air and those on the ground, and while you're flying you can more easily nail people on the ground without having to reposition your mouse as much afterward; I know most mousepads have more horizontal area than vertical.
Normally around 1600 at 1x it’s really shaky, That’s why I’m tryna fix it
hence why (aimlab to overwatch)
No valorant at 1x, I kinda just left my overwatch sens at default
wait what u mean 1x in valorant
must be expressing sens in multiplier, like 1600 1 sens.
thats an insanely high sens why would he use that
The main reason is I kinda just never changed it Had it for a few months and worked on mc as that didn’t require precision as much as I need for headshots, imo
Yep an edpi of 1600
im suggesting u change to a still high sens for a week and play a lot of DM with it in valo. try 0.5 800 or 0.25 1600 for a week, play a lot with it. u can always change, but u need to get used to a bit lower sens especially for val
I assume it's a fingertip-claw since you use the fingertips. I use a tense looking claw, but my claw is very relaxed.
Find sens calculators, i.e Aiming.pro allows you to find your CM in a sens by specifically picking the cm and finding the sens from there.
Mines 32" and my hip is 26cm and my ads is 31cm; cod 80 fov, 800 dpi, 1.78 monitor coefficient.
Could try a claw, it gave me more range of motion up and down and around.
yes i thought thats the "official" meaning of relaxed claw. like a hybrid of all the three types
Yeah, but different people have different meanigs.
true
I did come from a “claw grip” but I felt that it didn’t work for me as it fet a lot less versatile as the fingertip grip
Although I can see the benefits of the claw grip, I enjoy the fingertip grip more of that makes sense so I’d rather get better at fingertip
u can use fingertip with a bit of palm support aka relaxed claw/extended claw and switch from base of hand support to not supported whenever u need
heres my thing, if i was to ever change grip, id like to know one thing, which grip (basic or esports (like zywoo for an example)) allows the easiest access to side buttons
that also depends on ur mouse and ur hand, ull have to try
literally search all the grips and try them all ^^
also remember, ur hand can get used to almost any grip
i may have just discovered a new grip, and i have no idea if it would work or not just gonna play a few games of val to see if i can get used to it
nice ^^
im trying 2-2-1 and 2-3-0 but i think 2-3-0 wont work as you cant pick the mouse up (easily)
230 sounds weird idk how u can do that lol
its not very effective but it looks like this: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/899764364498837504/1057246167550939226/D4B399DD-A79A-4D5D-BBCC-C36F1725D143.jpg
just wondering how to get used to a new mouse grip as i feel really comfortable with 2-2-1 right now, but my sens isnt able to match the grip
221 pinky in air? oh nvm i see it now
221 seems kinda 'unbalanced', more control on left side
yeah its kinda like a grip focusing more on the side buttons than accuracy, im sure if i do enough aim training with it ill get there eventually itll just be harder than a 1-2-2 grip
maybe the mouse isnt comfortable enough for u sidebutton placement wise, did u search for other mice? where u want the side buttons exactly
I’m using the steel series Aerox 9 wireless for the grip
The main reason to add another finger is to have all 12 side buttons available to be pressed - more so for novelty than for aiming potential
oh damn that mouse looks nice
Was it a 1-2-2 claw or 1-3-1 claw?
I tried both
1-3-1 for me has more ROM than any other grip I've tried.
12?!
this is the mosue:
i like to have a lot of buttons on the mouse and i play mmos + work as well so i was thinking of ways to have a grip that works for both, ie can reach the sidebuttons and still aim well enough
Couldn't you just stretch your thumb and move your wrist closer to the mouse?
