I just found out kovaaks is made in unreal. They definitely did just leave the graphics pipeline on the default settings did they lol. Switching to forward rendering would be a very easy change for an app like this, and would increase the performance. The upsides of deferred rendering come into play when there are a lot of dynamic light sources, which I don't think kovaaks has. Without that forward rendering is faster, uses less memory bandwidth, and supports proper antialiasing solutions like MSAA
