However I see your point but they wont be aware about the users activity until well they are a mod. So if someone says they're avaliable yk 6 hours a day whatever timezone on their application and they go "Oh thats great, we need someone active from that timezone" well theyd pick that person and if it turns out they were to be inactive then sad times.

Well yeah many notable games on roblox pick via recommendations / vouches rather than applications. Take RolvE for example, their staff are just friends of fellow staff. It makes sense though to a point, although I do believe in giving everyone a fair chance if someone you already know and trust, vouches for someone else being trustworthy and a good candidate why not pick that person over some random.

I myself have even recommended people getting staff in certain things, which in turn has taken some positions away from new people.
