@serene temple I'm not an expert, struggling with the same. But my coach gave me endurance tasks for this case.
5 sphere endurance hipfire
fuglaaPressure
Pressure Aiming - 7 Targets.
It works for me but not that much and idk if it's right
how long is the routine?
I have right hand thumb pain I think from mouse side buttons are there any things i can do to help with it?
how long have you had the pain
about a month
its my thumb clicking side buttons
are the side buttons in a unusual position or difficult to click?
One question
why i feel like i get lost in vision
like
i try to play some scenario but my eyes cant read well
i dont know how to explain very well
like im lost
Are you or your eyes tired?
Is there too much on the screen?
Is there some sound around that makes it hard for you to focus
to be honest im sure that isnt bc of tired eyes but about too much on the screen i dont think i tried some scens w a low of dots and other w just 1 dot but still happening
usually i play like this
i tried changing the visuals and helped me a bit but not a real diff
i know
w does trippy mean?
srry my english isnt good enough
uhh, like, something that makes a hallucination type effect
yep
bc of the mosaic and colors
but i tried other visuals and didnt work at all
i think i should be off the pc for 48hs and later see what happens
like viagra?
try to focus on gripping less tightly maybe
is forearm tiredness/light pain normal when it comes to training static clicking?
it goes after like 1-2 min break
dont tense ur muscles too much
and stretch/shake
usually happens when u didnt warmup at all
i think
try this
Whether you’re playing casually, for your live stream, or for competition, the Gamer Warm-up prepares you for your gaming sessions. This comprehensive program includes movements for all the muscles and joints involved in gaming from your fingertips to your elbows. This program also prepares your eyes for gaming by including a dynamic warm-up for...
this is probably it, but my tension is proportional to my focus, which sucks
idk how to break it without feeling like my aim is trash
ty ❤️
xd
Hey, anyone knows why my wrist right side is bad at tracking something?
Like When I move my wrist tracking something to the left side back and forth, everything is fine but when I go to the right side and go back and forth, my wrist struggles and jumps a few millimeters
Grip maybe? I used to have that same problem, think it was mostly my grip, or how hard I gripped
is it shaking or?
my grip is fingertip and I am relaxed as much as possible and I guess it's shaking
might be worth it to stretch first
I did
Even did 30minute training
okay so basically
@rigid citrus imagine you move your wrist right
and it pixels skips
yeah i get that sometimes too
It's a dumb explanation but the best I have
like jitters?
i'm not sure but definitely focus on the right side tracking
like
pay attention that you're not
uh
tightening your wrist
Hm
I see
I will try it out
but that's later
I have decided to use really low sensitivity for the game so tracking is no problem now
I’m not doing this right
what will i do to avoid carpal tunnel? i usually do my hour long aim routine and i guess my wrist is starting to hurt.
i notice that after a few hours of gaming, i subconsciously rotate my pad and kb like so, and have to move my monitor to account for that. i assume this is cause i seem to have my right arm further forward on the desk than my left arm when i game
is this something i should worry about fixing? i assume it could be a sign of bad posture, but my posture is otherwise decent
It's fine
I do the exact same
Ur brain is just looking for support under ur arm so it doesn't get tired when aiming
Technically you can mitigate with arm rests, but they have to be the perfect level, and you still might not like that
I always want a lot of pad under my arm personally
thank you!
no, it's a pretty normal task, just dont do it excessively, like anything
ur body is trying to make itself comfortable
How bad of a strat is eating once a day
For losing weight
When u have no access to transportation
And its so fucking hot u can't move
I was 225 lbs
Now I'm 170 and stable after doing that for a while
Omad is fine
Like I eat now lol
But it makes it substantially harder to get proper nutrition without supplementing
I like 2mad or some imf variants
As a middle ground
Tbh half the time the thought of eating makes my gag reflex go
I still do but 🤷♀️
Like
Realistically, learning proper portion control is the most important thing
Today I ate a foot long at subway
Prolly not eating anything else cuz that's a lot lol
Also its 5pm
That's hard
Like
Idk
Its more going up to eat more than twice in a day is weird for me
Like I'd rather do other things
After aim training if my arm is sore, do I want to rest it, or stretch it.
should do both but if it hurts too much to stretch then you might not want to
doesnt rly hurt to stretch, was just uncomfortable trying to aim
n arm was sore ofc
Are there any recognizable sign for carpal tunnel?
consistent pain in the wrist
Like non stop?
yes
like a tingling, pinching sensation that's somewhat painful that doesn't subside even if you're not using your wrist
@violet swan have you tried weight training?
Eating 1 meal a day means you are definitely deficient in your nutrition in probably every aspect
Weight training allows you to be hungry more, but since you are weight training, you actually send a signal to fat to stop growing on your body, this would mean you would be able to reach your goals of wanting to look a certain way, aswell as eating a healthy amount
not getting proper nutrition is basically limiting everything uou are doing, if you are trying to improve at games, you are doing it slower, trying to improve mental, it will take longer, it’s the same with hydration, uou don’t realize that your body can function better after while of doing soemthing because your think it’s normal. just because you can “tolerate” it doesn’t mean it’s okay
I have tingling sensations some times but it doesn't cause pain
What can I do to prevent it?
see a doctor
Oh fuck
and lay off the computer for a while
For how much?
could also be blood circulation stuff
Because now I'm scared
Is there anything I can do about it?
does it happen naturally, say when you're not aiming a lot or smth
or say when you're in bed
carpal can be treated, and it's good you recognize the main symptom. mainly just go to a physician since they'll probably give you the best diagnosis and advice but I would recommend spending less time on the computer and when you do, make sure to do stretches afterwards
No, just aiming
how much aiming do you do a day?
Stretched before and after or just after
does it persist while you're playing and does it develop into pain?
when you're on your computer, not aiming, does it still happen?
No, it happens for 1 or 3 seconds
Not really, no
Then I doubt it's anything serious
not serious enough to see a professional anyways
yeah, then you should be alright
imo
just do your stretches
make sure your posture is right aswell
and your aiming arm is comfortable
and that there isn't any strain when aiming
probably something to ask your physician whenever you do a routine checkup but nothing to be too worried about
^
Are there any stretches exercises you guys want me to know about or I'll just stretch them casually?
wrist and posture guide in #resources
Ty
I don't want muscles
That is a very common misconception with women. Lifting weights does not do the same thing in men as it does women. My girlfriend lifted weights with me for 5 months, is now the skinniest she’s ever been.
@violet swan i know it’s hard to believe but trust me when i say this, you have to be training at a extreme level to get muscles as a girl
most girls you see on instagram have been training for years to look like they do with the abs and the arms, men have testosterone which helps build those muscles, women have only a fraction
Thats why the avg man is generally physically stronger than the avg woman
cardio also helps
Cardio is killing your gains buddy
internet is a crazy resource, you can learn how to do simple things pretty quickly
@silent stream What i would recommend is starting very slow and incorporating change over time. this promotes consistency and long term results. What i mean by this is say you have terrible food every day of the week. Go out to the store, by yourself chicken and rice, a very simple recipe you can find online, about 25 min all together to make. This way you at least have 1 good meal, and once you feel more comfortable you can add different things and eat healthy more often! you don’t want to cut cold turkey because that strategy rarely ever works. these things take time and with enough time you will find yourself wanting healthy foods because they make you feel good
I’m not sure how old you are either, but if you buy all your own foods, just keep those foods out of your house and go to the grocery store on a full stomach. Don’t limit yourself to any foods. during summers i don’t eat chocolate a lot, because i choose not to, but randomly i can crave it and i just eat it because i don’t limit myself to not eating it
ye u can learn to cook at any point in ur life, and it's absolutely a contender for most useful skill basically anyone can learn
better health, cheaper than purchasing food, good for mental, good for social etc
honestly just think of X food u enjoy eating, and see how easy/difficult it is to make urself
if it seems within ur limits give it a go
I usually get tired at 4 or 5 in the afternoon (my eyes get droopy and I feel like I need to sleep or at least close them, I also have less engergy), does that mean I need to get more sleep?
can mean like 1000 things
if ur sleeping less than 9 hours, see if sleeping more helps
otherwise improve ur foundational behaviors (diet, exercise, sunlight, mental health)
K
aka don't buy them
pr'd on my 4 rep max today
Wow kovaaks improved your lifting too
carry in game and irl
new kovaaks dlc
nice mate
I don't do any strength training or anything like that. I just hit the exercise bike for low stress cardio (i want to do this until i'm at a certain weight, and then i'll carry on with actual workouts). But does anyone know if there is a difference between one 2 hour session vs two 1 hour sessions?
Mm, I dont know if theres much a diff but I’d assume you get more from 2 hr sessions, as you’re pushing yourself more in those 2 hr sessions bc youre not stopping
Example say, you lift 10kg weights, and 20kg but you lift 20 for half the time, you’re pushing yourself more and I think you’d get more out of the 20kg for half the time
Weird example but hope it makes sense
you gain similar muscular definition and build but you become stronger by following this philosophy
Ive noticed when im either fatigued or just not playing well, i result to aiming with my arm and not much movement with my wrist, is there anything that causes this laziness? And any way to overcome it like certain stretches or anything
take a break for an hour or so
very vaguely related to aim but i have a question about caffeine
i dont drink caffeine every day but like i do see the attention and i guess reaction time improvements from it and it does lose effectiveness if you drink coffee or something every day right
or is it like you just dont feel it but you would still have better attention than before you were drinking it
im kinda stupid so
you can gain a tolerance to it just like other substances
Thus losing “effectiveness”
Better not to intake caffeine, as it’s still a stimulant on which you can gain a dependency on (potentially hindering in-game performance without consumption)
how do you position yourself in order to prevent mouse elbow?
How do i deal with stiff fingers
Could you elaborate?
Is it just when your aiming? Or in general?
@wind parcel
For cs mainly
I think its when i dont move a lot it starts getting stiff
When im aim training theyre never stiff
What sens dpi do you play
On cs 1 on 800
Hmm
What I do for aim training and in game, is I often just let go of my mouse for a sec, reminds me to not tense my arm/wrist if I am too much
Might help w fingers
Yeah, I’m not exactly sure how you would solve your problem exactly, so that might help, maybe changing your sens could help, since you have 50cm/360
Actually i think it does help
When i used Higher sens i dont think i had this problem
Yeah, try a higher sens for a few days and see if it fixes it
Is it okay to use different grips for different games
Yes, different games are better w diff grips
But dont force yourself to use certain grips if theyre not comfortable
I use claw / claw-fingertip hybrid
Think it’s harder to be percise
If you like palm play palm!
I will then thanks
:D
like everytime i aim train i get tingling sensation on my elbows
my mouse elbow
The elbow on your aiming arm you mean?
yes
What angle do you have from your shoulder to your elbow to your wrist
And is your lower arm flat on your table, in line w the ground
^
its like a 120 degrees and i use a clawgrip and when i feel the tingling sensation i use the fingertip and my arm's flat in line with the ground
nope only my arm
Is it only half your arm that is on your desk?
3/4
Ahh nvm then
Hmm, I genuinely have no clue
Could it maybe be something to get looked at?
maybe but it just occured today
when i was doing my aim routine maybe i did something that could trigger
maybe pushing my arms too much
So when im playing kovaaks & games my pinky starts hurting after a while
to the point where it hurts to move my pinky
Im currently learning claw and am using a Superlight
but this also happened when i played Fingertip
this has also been happening for around a month
Handsize?
Idk
pretty small
I’ll go find a tape measurer real quick
Do I just go from my bottom of my palm to my middle finger? @sudden sundial
Ok
I cannot find this thing
I’m so blind I found it
I’m definitely doing this wrong 😂
I measured 7x3
No way I’m doing this right
Is it in CM or inches? Lol
Hmm, so handsize isnt a problem
Im guessing its the hump type thing on the side of the gpx
where the buttons are on the normal gpro
i could be wrong tho
or maybe i just put to much pressure on my pinky
its weird tho since its only my pinky that gets pain
Yeah, it is weird
i've been aim training for around 3 days now and my shoulder's already hurting. Idk what the issue is because my posture seems to be fine
and this hasn't happened with me while playing any other game, it's only during aim training.
I suppose in aim training you're engaging those muscles more frequently compared to in-games, I'd compare it to like being in a constant gunfight where you're required to constantly shoot. Could be tensing too much, but then again not enough info to tell
I think I’ve played to much kovaaks today most of my fingers are hurting rn
Why does my wrist get sore during aim training
Could be tendinopathy, take a week off if this is a recent development.
It could be, but I’m constantly trying to focus on having my shoulder be as relaxed as it can be while training
any tips for pain/discomfort in like the outer side of my wrist? like at the root of my pinky
this area
i tend to not have any issues when gaming or aim training as i try to stretch regularly and keep a decent posture
but lately i've been feeling some sort of tension or slight discomfort right around there (only after playing kovaaks though)
Is this healthy? U ll have to zoom
Bro you gotta have some sort of a life you can't just plan on playing kovaaks 6 hours a day 5 days a week
What life can I have? I m 15. I don't rly hangout with friends, i don't do sex or romance cos all teen girls are "special". Read a book? Books suck..
What is there to do except going all in for the goal of going pro
Get a job, go to the gym, get some hobbies outside like mountain biking, you don't need to try to be fucking girls at 15
Idk if you live somewhere that you can't easily go to a job or you can't start driving until you're 17 or something like that though
And you gotta get some irl friends
I worked this summer. I go to karate (exercise). I m fit. Outdoor shit is pretty fun, might look into that.
Irl friends i have. Like my discord gs better tho can't lie. I dunno man. I ll try smth out i guess
If you slave over aim training you'll get burnt out in a couple days, much less a couple of weeks
Plus having insane aim won't guarantee you go pro in any specific game. You've got to put time into a specific game you might want to be really good at or go pro in to actually get on top of all the mechanics
Plus being a pro player is #1, highly unlikely and #2, not sustainable unless you're in a good/big organization with lots of sponsors, which is also very unlikely
I'm not trying to shoot you down, I'm just saying that you shouldn't be trying to put all your eggs in the same basket of wanting to go pro in a video game
I mean.
#1 training for gmc to have a great base aim.
#2 once i get it, i ll slow down on the aim training a lot and focus a lot more on gamesense.
#3 streaming is also a valid option.
I gotcha g, it's more. Currently I m 15 and i can afford putting all eggs in 1 basket. Cos i ll know if i succeeded or not by the age of 16. And can then if i need reposition my goals.
@violet swan What game do you wanna go pro in
Also aim training six hours a day is not good at all max you should aim train is 2 hours
depends on what game is the shit by the time I get GMC (hopefully 2 months) so currently playing apex.
Because when you get to gmc what are you gonna do then how do you plan on getting better
Ooh. Za plan.
1st: only aim train max 1 or 2 hrs a day depending on how much time I have. (Only practising the thing needed in the game, not for ranks in voltaic for e.g)
2nd: look at pro vods and tips and take notes on what u can improve
3rd: in firing range practise vert nades as well as recoil control
After all that. See what u can perfect and go from there
2st lel
Also i was gonna say the 2nd thing
Oh shit
Watching pros in the game you want to go pro in helps you improve dramatically (mechanics and game sens)
Yues. That is why I do it 🧠
Also. The real goal isn't to go pro. I m not gonna cap. The reeeal goal is to get Dfalt aim lmao. Or preferably better
also get up some if you are going to aim train 2 hours
Wut
like stretch
at the hour mark or something
Yh ofc
It's in the schedule i did as well. Break & stretches to keep focus etc
Get up, walk around, get your blood flowing. Probably every 30 minutes. Don't just mindlessly sit on your ass and click bots
dfalt aim is mostly smoothness tbh
No. It's TS and recoil control. Basically only TS and recoil control
recoil control is in game training though im talking kovaaks
also cod recoil is nothing tbh
He was semi pro R6 tho :)
I m a fan boy kekw
oh i only know him from cod
He came from r6
Like 7000 hrs or smth lol
yeah being good at a game takes time like that
Yep
Sadly enough
really good*
Yes
Good still takes time. But can be shortened if u do it right
Gotta go monkey. Nice talking. Later g
is there a good infographic on proper desk height and such
my desk used to be way to high and less than a year ago i got an adjustable desk but it may have been too low
its just whatever lets u have the most neutral and sustainable resting/playing position
i guess i just dont know what that is now cause i noticed my elbow lifting off cause its so low
cause i remain in a neutral spine so i dont hunch forward just to have it touch
whats best desk that has a lot of space for aiming
if that makes sense
i use a L shaped desk
its weird to aim on this
The only thing that could possibly change how you aim on a specific desk, other than obvious quality issues that fuck with you, would be how tall it is. It's mostly personal preference and comfort. No specific shape is better than one another unless there's some retarded shape someone uses that juts out and hits people in random places
I use a L shaped desk but I don't rest my arm on the side that wraps around me
I just put most of my forearm on the pad and play with it like that instead of resting my arm on my chair or desk
how do I stop leaning forward and making my neck hurt
monitor may be too far away
o true
My body aches a lot
Has anyone whos suffered with long term chronic arm / wrist pain ever been able to get rid of it?
focus on posture sitting up straight and your desk might be too low, body compensates to get forearm to elbow flat so you lean forward
monitor should be below eye level and approx. one arm length away
cant move my desk lol
monitor is now there, wasn't before
also I've been lowering my chair
Yeah you can adjust the chair or desk as long as your body is as close to '90 degree' angles as possible
lovering chair so desk is higher in relation
yup
you can literally test it too
lift your forearm slightly off desk
then lean forward and youll see itll flatten out and touch
just force yourself to sit properly and maybe move arm more towards edge as well
yes but what i told you has to do with posture
you should be sitting up right with a natural curvature in your back (neutral spine) looking slightly below eye level at monitor
there are posture exercises on youtube that can help strengthen those muscles to help]
so they dont fatigue and you end up going back to bad sitting posture
If you have a pull up bar I highly recommend doing dead hangs after gaming sessions
Bad posture while gaming seems inevitable unless your posture muscles are strong
I don't
@violet swan oh why?
I think they meant that they dont have pull up bars.
yea
lol whoops
So can anyone with like gym knowledge help me out ig
So basically I’ve been eating less lately and skating a lot trying to lose weight and tbh it’s going pretty well
Do u think it’s a good idea to add like gym into that as well
Not like cardio but more like working muscles and strength training
personally i really enjoy going to the gym, and it isn't a bad idea to try and build up some muscle
Yeah if you know how to do it safely exercise is always good. Generally, gaining or losing weight is dependent on eating at a caloric deficit or surplus. Weight does not necessarily equate to muscle or health however, and you can improve those in the gym (optimal results of course will come with a good diet).
If you’re wanting to build muscle, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re eating enough protein to do so.
If you’ve never lifted weights before, it may not be a bad idea to talk to the gym you’re looking into about a few sessions with a personal trainer - to help you learn good form, as well as getting you on a program.
u wont rlly see a huge difference in weight loss, especially if youre putting on mass with resistance training
but if youre motivated enough defo get in the gym, resistance training is a really good for your overall health
doubly so if youre already doing some cardio with skating n shit
it's a good idea to recomp and build a muscular base before jumping into a weight cut as a person who is currently untrained
otherwise you may end up eating next to nothing and still 'skinny fat'
Do you guys think games with zero movement acceleration are worse for hand/wrist/arm health, because more sudden, extreme movements are required when tracking a target that changes direction?
This is somewhat unrelated to aim training, but more health in general.i usually feel like I need caffeine in the morning in the form of coffee or energy drinks. It helps, the problem is that my legs often start shaking a lot. Like a lot a lot. I don't really know what to do about it, it doesn't hurt but just feels kinda weird and looks kinda weird to my classmates when my leg have Parkinson's at 8am
stop drinking coffee or energy drinks and go see a doctor. If this is what makes your legs shake a lot you should be stop drinking it cause I'm pretty sure your heart rate looks bad too
I work out a lot and my resting heart rate is currently 41. I started drinking coffee quite recently so that might be why I react. Also it might be important to keep ADHD in mind. Should I take it seriously or would it be better to chill a bit and see how it goes?
This is more a theorycraft than a question but, you ever get days where you just "pop off"? It's like, you feel like you plateau'd then the next day you just beat high scores left and right, perform much better in game despite it feeling seamless. What leads to this? It's almost like the brain subconsciously figured out something or cleared a threshold about the game or hand movement
41 is really low, unless you have insane cardio (like you could run a marathon) you should be in the 50-70 range when resting depending on your condition.
ADHD or not, when I hear what you describe, I'd just tell you to stop what you are drinking and run to a doctor. It's really unusual and you want a professional to check it.
I used to do track and field professionally, but i quit recently (my 10k pb is 35.34). At my best my resting heart rate was 38. My legs doesn't shake like crazy, but they shake even if i try not to move them or deliberately try to stand still.
You could feel the same but so many things could have changed. It's not just "yesterday I was bad, today I'm good", you maybe slept really well, changed something in the food you take, or maybe got a good news and you're in a good mood.... They're are so many factors that could change from one day to the other. Of course you have to take your training into account, but usually you won't break your PB when you haven't slept for 20 hours.
Yes absolutely. I changed the lighting in my room and I feel more consistent with my tracking, but I've also been doing more cardio lately and despite being behind a tiny bit on sleep, I've been hitting high scores again which I haven't done in weeks.
Fast movements aren't necessarily bad. The question you need to ask is if your body can handle those movements. If you condition yourself to handle those movements then you should be fine!
Go see a doctor! Best case they tell you to lay off the caffeine and no harm done. Worst case you get ahead of a potentially serious problem.
Performance is a very interesting topic. Sleep, nutrition, warm-up, mood, stress, pain levels are all components to it. Changes to any of those variables can make a big difference
Yeah, your arm/wrist just isn't used to smoothly tracking a target yet. If you didn't have a target I bet you could turn smoothly
sorry guys my ENG not that great but I Feel pain from shoulder to my wrist I use 46.65 Cm/360 i like that sens since I play valorant mainly
what should i do?
should i have my arm planted on my mousepad?
i think you are looking at your crosshair and not focusing on target.. try to focus on your target only check for milisecond if you are on or off target.. your crosshair wont fly away.. it always in the mid of the screen 😄
My right and left hand mouse grips are different, is that weird
no
Bro i was having the same problem and what really helped me was making sure my arm was at a 90 degree angle at the elbow. Really focus on pinching your shoulder blades together and having the correct height. That helped my pain dramatically. It will he especially bad if you internally rotate your wrist (left for your right hand) and tilt your shoulder forward. Avoid that at all costs. Hope it helps
I think one side effect of adhd is that caffeine doesn't tend to do much
isnt it usually the opposite lol
i thought stimulants generally helped adhd people hyperfocus on X thing
seems to be my personal experience at least
^ something like this
I think it just helps you w focus, doesnt give any extra energy or anything
Any tips for tendinitis?
how to stop yourself from binge eating
i generally eat a small amount from breakfast to lunch but then once i get home from school, i just end up binge eating or eating too much
and then i instantly regret it afterwards
damn your heart rate is fucking low... my lowest is 48 and my smartwatch starts to thing i sleep 😄
i only workout 3-4 days per workout for 1 hour
Yeah it's a result of excessive cardio training lol
I can't do it anymore, but i used to run 15+ hours a week
And that's intense interval training for the most part, rarely jogging
Well, it kinda killed me as well, which is why i quitted.
I still regret quitting once in a while though
reddit when they see big chungus
i Love hentai
I mean whatevers comfortable and u perform best on shud be priority
Hello, once in a while (10 days or two weeks usually) i get a little pain around this area. Looking at what is hurting i think it's one of the things i circled in the picture. I'm not too sure of which one of those is it tho; has anyone else experienced this/ knows why this happens and what can i do about it? It usually goes away after not playing for a day
usually i already feel like that before i start playing, and i used tothink it was just because i wasn't warmed up, but even when i try to warm up or just play, i can't get rid of it for that day
Penso tu stia per morire. Dovresti consultare un buon becchino per organizzare al meglio le onoranze funebri, se posso darti un consiglio, il mogano è un ottimo legno
.

Relax your hand during any form of aim training, like really focus on it. Take a break, and/or strength training if it is already progressed
Use mobility work and warming up before Kovaaks
Bind shoot to spacebar for tracking scenarios instead of holding down M1
Fix posture
seems like it could be your coracobrachialis?
my hand has been getting tired extremely fast, i sometimes can't even complete a kovaak scenario without feeling tired. This was not happening before the summer and i don't know what could be the reason for this to happen
Could be
The one i showed in the picture is a brachial plexus
Which i think is what hurts
Because i don't think a muscle is hurting
stretching helps take pressure off of tendons that's built up during exercise, as well as helps with removing tight spots, which can very much help your motorics
source: lived with a pro golf player most of my life
that being said, yes - strengthening is very much the way
my right arm has been feeling extremely weak for the past week, it has been affecting my smoothness
is there anything I could do to treat it?
Either take a long ass break, or some stretches
^same problem but I haven't played for about a month now and my arm is either shaking, extremely weak or very stiff

I had the same problem when I took a break for a few weeks or a good month. When I came back to fps I kept playing the game without paying much attention to it
problem with me is that I have been playing this whole time
@hard flame do you have a hefty amount of muscles or are you a skeleton like me?
I could help you but I am afraid of giving a really shitty advice
well build up muscles like me xD I am also just starting with some muscle training and it should get better from what I have gotten from docs and some physiotherapists
Could you explain what this is?
What I find the most abnormal is that I still get pretty decent tracking scores
I don't get that

its probably just your arm being tired
for a week?
but i would check with a doctor if i were yo
yeah okay it might actually be somthing bad then
it is really weird and impossible to describe, my ritalin makes me feel more focused and a bit more awake, but it's not like a coffee or anything
I think I should just take a break from games
how intense are you aiming
because its hard to imagine you are strianing your arm that much
i doubt this is aim related then
you should really see a doctor if only to get their opinion
funny enough, this kinda started ever since I bought a sleeve
no
how tight is it
nothing crazy
its possible its compressing blood vessels
would explain everything but that is very rare fr a sleeve
very true
but that's all i'm getting
I do tend to tense a lot but only during aim training
but I haven't aim trained much this week
I am finding it weird that my right hand is cold but my left is warm
I’m pretty sure stretching only increases the length of a muscle, and thus, increasing flexibility. Exercise actually is beneficial to tendon health, and any “tightening” after exercise is usually due to muscle damage and repair. Also the benefits of increased flexibility for preventing injury are unclear, but most recent studies have shown stretching does not decrease the likelyhood of injuries such as tendonitis developing.
this used to happen to me, you need to do some stretches before using a mouse. the reason why your left hand is warmer is cause pressing the keyboard moves more muscles and there is more blood flow while with your mouse you're being stiff and moving it tensing the muscles
Yeah which is really annoying considering when you need to aim but you feel uncomfortable with the cold arm. Anyways you either play really aggressive or just warm-up really well
I put my whole arm on the table/mousepad
status update: my pinky is tingling
put it under hot water
that means your right hand isn't getting good blood flow
is hot water better than cold in my situation
you're trying to heat your hand up to improve blood flow, so yes
Pinky tingling usually means the cubital tunnel nerve is being compressed
Warm water can help
oh ok thanks boys
The posture guide mentions this:
But what does "elbows locked against your body, maintaining an angle between 90 and 100 degrees" look like?
Put your elbow against your torso and put it at a 90 degree angle
so the elbow is completely glued to the body, so to speak?
I guess so, my desk is too high so even if I wanted to I wouldn't be able to do that
As long as you're not playing in some overly fucked up way you should be fine
But elbows locked against your body is gonna hurt your aim
yeah, that's why I asked
Seems like it makes aiming hard since you can only pivot around your elbow
I say that as long as your shoulder isn't at an angle more extreme than 60° and your elbow is between 90° and 110° you shouldn't have issues
Because elbows locked against the body is impractical and some people can't even really do it especially if they're not exactly on the thin side
That's purely anecdotal though and not based on any science, so take that for what's it's worth
Is it normal to feel my joints rubbing on my fingers when i claw?
Wdym rubbing, like you feel friction between them?
And do you do a normal claw or an exaggerated claw and do you strain your hand a lot while playing?
I dont strain a lot but it happens with any claw
I dont really know how to explain it
All i can say is that its really uncomfortable
Does it feel like a bad hinge?
Is it normal everytime i roll or move my wrist in like a circle clockwise it cracks
I think it is, happens to me too
Depends how "hard" it cracks
If it's a little "pop", then it's probably not anything to be worried about
I'm inclined to believe that the body knows what's best for itself, open to expert appraisal here :0
my upper arm often feels overactive while aiming and causes shaking, any ideas on what may be causing it and how to fix this issue?
Would sticking to a higher sens(25-35cm) eventually get used to the use, and lead to my wrist not being so strained and mildly painful? or would I end up just getting worse? I tend to always go back to really low sens(50-60cm usually) as it is predominantly a arm aim sens, but in any game but valorant I struggle to be comfortable with such large movements slows down my mobility in games like Apex, oh and tracking is just weird on such a low sens in such a fast paced game. (ps is this an advice question or health?)
What is your sens? I find that low sens is when I do arm flicks that I use a lot of upper body. A fix is to focus on a rotation point on your desk usually your elbow and wrist. Do some basic drills and focus on accuracy and being slow and controlled using your forearm and wrist primarily.
55-65cm i believe
Do you use aimlabs or koovaks?
kovaaks
1w6target small I believe is the name. I like this scenario as you can gain a lot of control by going for accuracy
It's about fundamentals and focusing on your pivot points
i guess
one issue i need to figure out is that i do not have a lot of room for my arm on my desk so i end up using my chairs arm rest
I would think a chair arm rest would cause instability
yeah im not sure how to do it without terrible posture since my monitor has these obnoxious legs that take up almost half the vertical space on my desk
Oof a lot of issues setup wise, that is tough. Best I could think of is to use either a higher sens so your more wrist based or use mouse accel. Both would help to accommodate for the setup issues. I don't like to suggest setting changes too much, but it seems like it could help a lot of issues.
the only solution i can think of to my setup is just getting rid of one of my monitors
which i just do not want to do
No don't sweat the setup so much, accommodate through your settings.
If anyone has anything more I would appreciate it I can't come up with anything better. I would say try 25-45cm/360 sens to focus more on wrist aiming. should remove your shaking.
Also if you practice the smaller muscles in your wrist you will develop more control thus also reducing shaking.
@wet sparrow Sorry I don't have anything much better. I really don't like saying to change your settings but it is the best advice I have.
no problem, thanks for trying (maybe its time to invest in a monitor stand)
should my arms stick to my body?
i have a hard time choosing right posture tbh might just test few
whatever is comfortable for you, I think it's recommended if possible, but if not, it shouldnt be too bad
My arms go off to the side, but are still at around a 100 degree angle
In theory as stated it is best to have 90degree angles all over your body. Comfort is key though, S1mple is one of the best aimers in csgo, but sits really low on his desk with his arm out like wings. Here is a video that explains well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW_z6bCy1ZI&ab_channel=RonRamboKim.
How we position the aiming arm directly influences our ability to control the mouse and aim the crosshair. In this video, I talk about the vertical height of the aiming arm and how it's influenced by a desk and chair.

Is there a video guide on how to do the wrist streching routine ?? (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JKKSBWXHM-V5C9gMhVFWQgsHwVLcVMgb/view)
What do you need help on? It’s fairly self explanatory I thought
Not that I need "help"
just that seeing someone else do it would give me affirmation that im doing them correctly
Understandable, I’ll try making a video guide today

Wrist pain is by far the MOST common complaint I get when I work with pros and gamers. And the first thing they often encounter online are resources telling them to rest, brace, just do stretches! Sorry that’s not going to help in the LONG run. These are just methods for short-term relief. I’m Dr. Hwu and i’m the esports injury doctor and over t...
Anybody have any good arm stretches?

We are actually live right now discussing benefits of exercise for gamers and answering any questions you might have on health
We can go over specific stretches based on what you might be feeling 🙂
First thing many doctors have told me for wrist pain is a brace. When I first wore my wrist brace I wore it to bed and the next morning my wrist felt 10x better almost like magic. Kind of think I also may sleep funky on my wrist hence my crazy improvement, but I find my wrist gets far less angry(if at all) at me when I wear a brace to bed everyday.
my armpit starts twitching like a jackhammer whenever i play high sens tracking
anyone know whats up with that
@terse willow you’re flexing too much try to be more relaxed while aiming
It hinders progress and is a bad habit you’ll need to get rid off
hello, i have all the time shoulder problems when i´m gaming. Did someone have a tipp or a tool to get my perfekt desk and chair hight
@tawdry shell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW_z6bCy1ZI this one is ultimate i think try it

is there a reason why I feel sleepy all the time? will exercise help? is it the food I eat? I just feel weak even after waking up
maybe sleep apnea
but idk
go to the doctor get yourself a checkup
yearly checkups it's free anyway (in my country at least)
might be bad to guess in the internet unless it's quite specific
Is your sleep schedule consistent and are you getting enough hours of sleep? But if you're tired literally all the time it probably means that some part of your health is off, be it sleep, eating, water, exercise. Keep an eye on these aspects and see if you can pinpoint the problem i reckon
I guess i'll try to improve everything lol
@violet swan Exercise will 100% help, it can be good, caffeine intake etc
since like 8 weeks now I'm always freezing, I get scared easily (like when I get shot in game) and my mechanics just feel so off... not really sure what changed. I'm working out 4x times a week
Do you sleep enough ? Usually feeling cold happens when tired. And getting scared easily may come from anxiety, wich could lead to you not sleeping enough...
Other than that, aren't you taking something you weren't taking before, like caffeine or anything that you did not take before or maybe in smallest amounts. You could try to work out less too.
I am sleeping enough, yes. I do go to bed a bit later than I used to I guess but I don't usually feel tired in the morning
I've always been drinking coffee, 2-3 cups a day, but I don't find myself being sensitive to it. I did start taking creatine but I think that was like a month before I had any issues
if I work out less than I do I get back pain, I don't think I'm doing too much tbh
@heavy stream depends, do you feel tired after workout, do you feel sore the next day after working out, anything after working out than feeling awake and good?
no working out feels good but I also can't do as many reps as I used to
like I don't have much energy
How about food consumption? are you running or just weight lifting
what do you do as a job aswell? how long working out per day
I'm eating as always, which is like 5x a day. I'm doing a body weight workout however I am not seeing too many gains tbh, I cannot gain weight in general idk (guess I just have high metabolism)
I'm a programmer so I pretty much sit all day
I workout 16 sets, 45 seconds + 15 seconds break
with warmup and cooldown takes me like 25 minutes
now that I think about it, it was 8 weeks ago when I developed stress related anxiety because of exams. I ended up passing all of them but my anxiety never really went away I think
not sure if anyone can help me here, I think I will just try going to bed earlier and getting more sunlight unless somebody has any other advice?
To me that really looks like you need more rest and eat more.
You don't have much energy when you work out, you can't do as many reps as before, you feel sleepy, you can't gain weight... Maybe you are too stressed and that prevents you from eating and sleeping enough.
I don't really feel sleepy, but yeah I might need some more rest during the day
and I never could gain weight even though I'm eating a lot
Yeah, that's what every person who does not manage to gain weight says, but that has nothing to do with metabolism for most people. It's just that you have some habits and you don't realize it. If you track how you eat for a month, with an app and put everything you eat in it you'll see that you don't eat enough to gain weight. Try to calculate how much kcal you should be eating per day, and create a plan for that. When you eat enough try to increase your intake by 200-300kcal per day, and you should slowly gain weight.
hmmm alright I'm willing to try that, any app in particular you recommend?
Cronometer and MFP tend to be the most commonly used kcal counters I see people use. @restive trellis is right that most people's metabolisms are very close to what you would predict based on their body composition (unless you have some true clinical issues, in which case you'd already know). The general rule I tell most clients is to gain 0.5-1.0% bodyweight per month. For every 1 lb. you need to gain, increase daily caloric intake by 150 kcal (so if you are trying to gain 2 lbs, increase by 300 kcal per day, etc.).
You can also look to space your water away from meals so you have more room to eat without getting full, and you can focus on some higher calorie dense healthy options like: avocadoes, nuts/seeds, whole eggs, nut butters, dried fruit, fattier cuts of meat, etc.
I downloaded "Fddb" which apparently has many German items listed.
I will try drinking less before meals!
@heavy stream i would also recommend weight training, you are doing a ton, 16 sets is a lot and it sounds like hitt training meaning those 45 seconds you are going hard am i correct
You also don’t want to do the same thing over and over again, the body is extremely adaptive and if you only doing that body weight training with no changes, you won’t gain any weight
it is HIIIT but I'm doing the easiest level tbf
I think I really should do some different training as well yeah
@heavy stream you should only be doing the same workout for about 6 weeks and week phases
i would say do less Hiit aswell, jt really sounds like you are over working your body even though you aren’t “doing much” it’s recommended you do about 9-15 sets per body part, you are doing thag in 1 day
anyone keep track of micronutrients on there diets? anyone know a "diet" with the lowest possible calories to fill the DV of all micronutrients? (asking for a freind XD)
I'm feeling like I've either hit a mental block for my games (Apex, and Valo, Valo I'm trying to improve in) or my mind has gone downhill, generally feeling burnt but wanting to improve. Any advice? (sorry if this is vague, my mental/focus feeling like it going downhill and I wanna actively improve in Valo since I'm bronze in that but hit diamond in apex at one point)
- Play through it 2. Take a break, usually what most people do during a mental block or mechanical plateau. Play other games, do other things, it’s that simple.
Are you doing full body workouts 4x/week? Or is it a P/P/L or upper lower split?
ill try playing through it
A multivitamin
Tho that's probably the least healthy mindset anyone can have regarding diet
Eat diverse whole foods and take a multivitamin, then start worrying about calories
Extreme defecit cuts are really not good
Hyper unsustainable and there is a food chance you fail or quit
ik
but he wants to figure out what foods fill all the micros
then add untill he has the right amount of calories
Just focus on reaching a calorie intake of -100/-250 from maintance
If he wants to cut just focus on reaching protein intake
ye after platue change his calorie in take or his output and take it slow yeah...
whats a good food for for zinc?
For a few years now I’ve had a weird issue with my left hand wrist , there’s like a tendon or something that seems to be popping in and out and it never used to hurt but now it does , also it only pops in and out when I do wrist extension exercises , the red area is where I can see the tendon or something popping in and out and it hurts there
Any advice for what I should do?
try wrist and grip strengthening exercises
It's really tough to be clinically deficient in any micronutrient due to fortifications of food products these days. As long as you are not eating a diet that is chronically less than ~1200 kcal, and it is suitably balanced, you won't have to worry so much about specific micronutrients. In general, the less calories you need, the more nutrient dense your foods have to be. As your calorie needs grow (like with increasing amounts of exercise), you get a lot more latitude with your diet. I've worked with athletes needing 6000+ calories in a day. For them, I really don't care (OK I kind of care) if they eat a whole pizza if their remaining 4,000 calories are quality.
Your most micronutrient dense foods are your fruits and vegetables. As a general rule, I like to say have at least one serving of each for every 1,000 kcal you are consuming (with a minimum of 2 each). If you are getting at least that much in, you won't be deficient. Now, recommended daily allotments per US government were built on population averages and the amounts needed to not die. Not dying is a very different standard than peak health or performance. If you are good with 'not dying' then that will get you by and honestly be better than most Americans, but if you want to optimize you're gonna need a bit more.
Supplemental micros only really make sense for specific clinical deficiencies (like iron deficiency anemia, etc.). Otherwise, eating a good balance of whole foods is best. If you want a specific cheesy recommendation, I like to tell clients to 'eat the rainbow' when possible. Each color of whole food plants have a unique mixture of micros and phytonutrients. If you want to get them all, then eat them all. When I'm being lazy, I have a smoothie I make where I just toss one of each into it and chug it for breakfast and call it a day.
(If you're curious it's: apple, avocado, kale, spinach, carrots, tomato, banana, frozen berries vs. some citrus, oat or almond milk, and some protein powder)

hi is there a vod demonstration of the wrist/posture guide? I'm having difficulty understanding how to do 1 and 2 of the posture correction routine
Glad I’m not the only one struggling with that
I’m just trying not to strain my wrist more than I have
Hello Gamers I have a questions reguarding arm rest. Do you guys aim with support from your chair arm rest or not?
I usually have my whole arm on my desk, but I was just curious since I was in the market for a new chair and standing desk.
Exercise = cognitive improvement
only if you can still get support for your back from the chair
What's the best way to strengthen wrists and will it help with pain symptons?
tbh my workout lacks structure, I do whatever excercises I feel like so ig it ends up being a full body workout
I pretty much always work my shoulders or back because otherwise my shoulders, back or wrists will hurt
This is a question directed at 1HP (don't know if I'm allowed to ping) but, in your wrist strengthening video, you recommend doing a set of 3x12 daily as part of a routine. Isn't that excessive? I've heard of people doing high rep - low weight eccentrics daily, but not the opposite. Essentially it's a heavy slow resistance protocol no? Therefore, wouldn't it be more effective for the exercises to be performed every third day, or even every other day, since tendon synthesis peaks at 72 hours?
Guys pls help im constantly wake up at 4am while go to bed at 12pm and cant sleep anymore(but want) for a 5 days help please
@mossy heart mm yes I think you can help him there
with the quick and simple solution if you know what I mean

are you taking any kind of medications? defintely see a doctor, but for me i found that taking a hot shower before bed actually REALLY works at making you feel sleepy
a long release melatonin will also really help you get to slepe
it wont knock you out but it'll help bring in the sleepy feeling
and yes and if that wont work use sleeping pills and jack daniels
reset your sleep schedule
morning sunlight and afternoon sunlight make sure it hits your eyes
ye just stay up until u go to bed at like 8pm or something or whatever
then u can fix ur actual sleep problems from there
(exercise, mental, meal timing etc)
@silent osprey @novel whale @thorn haven @mossy heart thx guys for all ur advices!!!!
If its bad, then drink enough of some kind of spirit that you feel tipsy but not drunk
I didnt sleep for 4 days straight a while ago and spent like 6 weeks only sleeping half the time
I have developed some techniques that work, even if they aren't pretty
what's sleep's impact on improvement?
big
am thinking of a new chair to get. Big question is, should I get a piano bench because on my old chairs i almost never use the back portion of the chair or do I invest into an office chair which can support my seating style?
Ive been getting this mild pain every so often directly above the pisiform bone(i think thats what its called, the circle bone thing on ur wrist). I took like a week break and it felt fine but after awhile it kinda came back. Is there anything I can do to help with that like stretches or something? I'm planning on taking a longer break this time but im wondering if there's anything else I can do
What you do outside of training in your sport/game accounts for at least 50% of how fast you improve (i think).
Sleep, food, water, and rest should all be prioritized.
Guys is this normal:
Left eye has good sight and sees everything clear on all distances, but sees everything a bit more blue.
Right eye has poor sight and can only see things clear on short distance, but sees the colors much more vibrant and living.
also my right eye can see things in the distance much more clearly when I pull on the skin next to it by the way.
and when I do that, it keeps its color vision
i'm pretty sure that eyes usually compensate for eachother's weaknesses by stitching the vision together
I dont think it’s a regular thing tho
Maybe look into moving some stuff around
Like chair/desk height, positioning of kb n m
That's definitely not normal, go get that checked out
Is there good discord server for asking that?
You shouldn't be asking people on discord, you should be consulting a doctor who is professionally qualified to help you out instead of a bunch of people like me talking out of our asses with a PhD in Google and youtube
Just go to an optometrist and get your shit checked out
Yeah so I am a qualified doctor, @turbid fossil you are mentally unstable
(dont take this seriously)
Yo anyone's had ulnar nerve problems before? When I lay my arm on my desk to play or even bend my elbow I get tingling around my shoulder and lat
Yes I don’t trust you on your medical advice, so I ask for discord where there is the doctors that do have doctor skills
are you like incredibly antisocial or something? you shouldn't be trying to get shit diagnosed by people over discord, go to someone in person where they can help you out the right way instead of trying to get doctors on discord
I just dont like going to the opticien
get the right diagnosis and treatment instead of trying to do shit online
Its for old people
Rofl
@thorn haven so I understand you don’t want me to visit the doctors discord, but can you still give me a link?
Not a bad idea to see an ophthalmologist annually even if you don’t wear or need glasses. Insurance etc. factors in, many policies cover annual eye exams though. Just like getting an annual physical, it’s all about prevention and being able to trend things if they change
If you have health insurance and aren’t sure what your policy guidelines are just give them a call and they’ll be able to get you the information you need. It may even be free. I know with my insurance an annual physical, an annual eye exam, and a semi-annual dental exam are free
I dont even know if theres a "doctors discord"
But you might aswell ask reddit if this is what you're gonna do instead of actually going to see a professional, who's job is to understand what it is you have and help you understand aswell, and then help you solve your problem if possible
Instead you'll probably end up being told to pour bleach over your eye to drain out the blue colour you get.
Definitely not, people are literally born, needing glasses already, often people dont know themselves they need glasses because they dont have an image to compare to
My brother was short sighted for years around the age of 10, before he found out, and then got glasses
If you dont like the idea of wearing glasses, contact lenses do the same job, and surgery is an option aswell I believe
Yeah one example being lasik which has helped a lot of people with their vision. If you’re having an issue with that you’d need to see a doctor in order to determine whether or not you’re eligible
Again, an ophthalmologist is probably a good doctor to see. Whether that’s for routine exams or your current situation. They can point you in the right direction from there
lasik is temporary though, in the early days it lasted for ~10 years but I think they've brought it up to 20 now
thing is I don't think I have bad sight
my sight is fine
just only in my left eye :/
not in my right eye
and well the blue'ish tint thing doesn't matter that much, only for the vibrancy of things. If I look at a field of flowers through my right eye it just looks so much more beautiful
but other than that its fine I guess
You dont know if it matters or not. Maybe in the future, it will lead to something.
You wont know if it matters or not, until you actually see a proffessional
And you cant make that judgement yourself, unless you're a professional
Maybe people are just born like that or whatever, and it really doesnt matter too much, but how will you know for sure?
that's called a lazy eye
Think they meant the blue is only in their left
I was talking about where he said his sight is fine in his right eye but not fine in his left eye
is there any foods that help with cognitive health?
like a specific food? like eat this = get good?
just for cognitive health doesnt have to be for games
Oh igy mb
tbh there isnt really one that boosts "cognitive health". Id say, drink water. people forget and it cuts cognitive function down. perhaps instead of what foods you can eat, think about eating on a consistant schedule so your brain always has energy to burn
How do I find out how many hours of sleep I need/should get?
7 minimum
tho sometimes people oversleep naturally
the length of time u can sleep the longest without waking up and feeling overslept or tired or whatever
is probably a good place to start
Sometimes I feel good and refreshed with as little as 3-4 hours, other days I can sleep up to 12-13 hours and feel like it's not enough. It doesn't feel like there's a consistent correlation between the amount of sleep I get and how I feel the day after which I find odd.
Yes my right eye is maybe a lazy eye
The number one diet most consistently rated for cognitive health is the Mediterranean Diet. There's nothing magical about it to be honest, and you don't have to follow it strictly, but some of the core focuses of the diet are great for the brain. Specifically - healthy sources of fat (fatty fish, olive oil, nuts/seeds, eggs, avocadoes, etc.), fruits and vegetables (berries are especially potent), inclusion of fish. These nutrients are conducive for supporting the brain structure itself, the day to day fueling requirements, and the repair capacity. @spark jewel is also right that water is probably the best bang for buck in terms of cognitive health if you are someone going from chronically dehydrated -> well hydrated.
Recently, I'm having issues with my right eyelid being weaker/lower than my left eyelid. I talked to my optometrist and she just said its something about left eye being dominant. Should I talk to a different doctor about this? I get enough sleep too.
research says 7-9. that being said, everyone needs different hours of sleep. try a self experiment and dont set an alarm (when you can) and see how many hours you sleep naturally. try 3 days or a week if you can. another ways to find is track how you feel after x number of hours of sleep on a scale of 1 -terrible and 10-amazing. get a week or 2 worth of data and you can adjust from there. what do you think?
Just a reminder for everyone:
While some of us on the discord might be more qualified than others in the medical/health space, we at most can give general advice akin to what may be on Youtube channel or website.
To have proper medical/health advice you need someone to have assessed you properly - a consultation.
General rule, if something is not improving, or if you are unsure --> Please seek professional help.
You can always start with a local health professional in your area/country.
(The 1HP team exists since not all health professionals understand or have experience in gaming/esports)
That sounds good, I'll try this. Thanks!
for sure! keep me updated 😄
Anyone know a way to help with Eye fatigue while training?
Make brightness of screen lower / lower blue
Make environment lighter
Look away from screen and do something else once in a while
Also drink enough water pls
I sleep 4-5 hours on weekdays.
Should I compensate for this by sleeping 7-8 hours in the weekend or should I stay closer to maybe 6 hours?
You should compensate by creating a schedule that allows you to at least sleep 7 hours a day every day
Sleep isn't something you should be trying to skimp out on
im with @thorn haven on this one...4-5 hours imo doesnt seem enough esp if you need to use the word "compensate" its true that you can try to recover your sleep debt but it is not effective to keep trying to run that schedule. sleep is huge for your brain function it is not something you want to skimp on. you may be doing things, but i highly doubt you are doing it effectively ...
to get good at esports it is even more important that we break it down back to basics bc we are dealing with thinking and cognition
take breaks and slowly increase training time
I can’t
Can’t up the amount of sleep for the weekdays, so I should just try and get like 7-8 hours on weekend?
I get its not optimal
But I’m just tired no matter how long I sleep lol
Doesnt really make a difference for 5 hours or 8 hours usually
cant or wont?
I doubt this, but ig you know best..
I know it probably matters for my health
but for my feeling, it's literally the same
that's the thing
I don't know what I'm supposed to do for my health
You dont have anything to compare to, if you randomly became rested right now magically, you'd probably feel better than you currently do.
If you could swap between them, then you can judge it
There is multiple hours between, and it's not instant
last year was full online lessons, I swapped a lot back then
I forced myself to sleep 6-7 hours for ~2 weeks with no improvement
Think right now. Mousepads wear down overtime, and it's not instant, but many people dont know their mousepads are worn down too much because they dont have a mousepad to compare too. Now w sleep it's the same thing, except your energy needs to be "changed" more often, and you cant really easily compare the 2 between eachother because you cant have a 2 batteries for your body's energy to change between
swapping to a newer mousepad, might not always make you do better at all, and maybe do even worse, you need to use it for a bit consistently and get used to it before it actually makes a positive difference
It usually doesnt make you play poorly not swapping/sleeping less, but the amount you actually improve overlonger term is much better
Ive only once switched mousepads from random crappad to aqua control+ and it was fine from the very first second
for sleep
I have tried sleeping more
it just doesnt really do anything for me
not anything that I can feel
You can't compensate for a chronic lack of sleep by sleeping well for a couple days a week, but it's better than having a chronic lack of sleep for 7 days a week
just saying its all connected. I know you didnt want psychology so ill just talk some science. looking at maslows hierarchy of needs humans need to satisfy basic needs like food, water, shelter, air, and rest before we can do higher level order of things like thinking abstractly, being cognitively flexible, or even regulating our emotions. All of these things higher order functions are critical to being alert and successful in esports.
To me, its kinda looking at a slowly sinking ship and someone asks "how can i make my boat go faster?". we cant address the speed if the ship is sinking as the ship is limited by its leak not its masts.
If ur sleeping that long and still not feeling any better you might have sleep apnea out something
Idk much about it but it seems to be a cause of stuff like that for some people
i only get like 3 hours of sleep a night...
been having trouble sleeping for 4 years now
if i go to bed anywhere between 9 - 12 i keep waking up at 2 am fully awake
then i sleep at 8 or 9am and wake up at 12pm ..
hmm sounds like u may want to see a sleep specialist unless u arent being affected by it
If you just stay in your bed for hours you are probably thinking about something and that keeps you from falling asleeep. And 3hours is far from enough.
Question what if I slept only 7 hours today, but I feel completely fresh right now when I woke up..
8hours a day is an mean. Some need 7h, some 9h. It's totally fine as long as it's not too low.
I do overthink but when i lay down but still like I'm always exhausted from the lack of sleep i get lol
Then you could see a sleep specialist, but I'm pretty sure that would fix the symptom and not the cause
he'd probably tell me to take some melatonin or give me pills to sleep or something
basically fixing the symptoms yeah
do protective eyewear help protect myself from losing eyesight while on the computer?
it can reduce strain
look at something far if you want to keep your eyes healthy
staring at your computer all day can cause myopia
they prob also tell you that you might have to change some of your behaviors and make more healthy sleep habits. we can address symptoms with short term fixes or we can get to the root with some behavior and thought changes! i wished everything was as easy as taking pills sometimes...it would make my job SO MUCH EASIER! orrrr id be on a lot of pills lol
sounds like you'd be on a lot pf pills lmao
i know that this would be the solutions they'd give me so it's mainly why i didn't seek help
all jokes aside, i think its awesome to be open and honest with professionals about what you want and dont want. its our responsibility to find the best options for you. most often sleep is about behavior changes and healthy habits, not pills 😄
It can take time if your body isn't used to it. Especially if there are mobility deficits holding you back
when i stretch my index finger it feels hurt a lot around in the red circle, how to i fix that, i tried watching youtube but it still hurt, happened a week ago and still hurt till today
is it normal for my fingers to cramp up
when gripping my mouse
ever since i've started using the xm1r
my thumb and between my fingers
have been cramping up
the normal course of action is to be honest and open with whatever your problem is with professionals after all they're professionals in said field for a reason but i don't think healthy habits are my issue like i'm trying to be an olympic athlete so i eat well workout very regularly so on
but some of things i'm dealing with aren't actually that easy to solve sadly some of the things i've been through aren't things people can relate to
at all
and that's not even an understatement or me looking for pity
could that be a strain injury ?
i could be wrong and i have no experience but maybe?
no it feels pain
strain injury causes pain
how do i fix it then, i can't aim comfortably
resting and not doing actions that will cause uncomfort or pain or seek professional help because i might be wrong
but usually in Taekwondo when stretching or doing anything if you move incorrectly or do something incorrectly you get an injury
just rest and not do anything that'll case more strain or pain on said area
some ice might help
paracetamol might help
thanks for reply, that's help a lot
no worries ! hope you get better soon !
thanks!
Do any of the 1HP guys have knowledge of the hands (preventative exercises for all the areas of the hands for injury)
am i the only one that consumes copious amounts of caffeine? like 3x 300mg drinks a day
ive been doing it pretty often for like a year at least 2 a day for almost a year
nope
prolly bad im guessing
but i think its an addiction at this point where if i go without it i feel terribly tired and unmotivated
Anyone have advice on how to stop arm and wrist tension when aiming. I have a big problem with my grip slowly getting tighter and tighter on m1 and my mouse as the time goes on, but luckily this seems to be isolated to aim trainers where I don’t get a chance to reset my aim. Might be mental block about resetting aim = less score but I really don’t know. Thanks in advance for any input!
you aren't alone. a lot of people use caffeine for improved functioning, and it easily gets out of hand. how would you describe caffeine affects you? do you feel different if you "overdose"?
im assuming you drink coffee
i drink these high caffeine energy drinks, they have 300mg each and i drink one everytime i feel i need it. which is like in the morning, in an early afternoon slump, and then at night if i intend to stay up to play. but recently ive been skipping the nighttime one and going to bed early
sry, i got trouble understanding the exact details
each drink has 300mg of caffeine?
if thats the case, it's a lot of caffeine, and at the same time your tolerance is pretty high aswell. i would argue that the energy drink itself is the most unhealthy part here. but yeah, back to the point. is there an issue here that you want to address? so far I'm hearing that you are worried about the consequences of the caffeine.
@small temple yea im just putting it out there cause i feel it could have long-term negative effects and i wanna avoid that and try to cut it down to like 2-3 cups of coffee instead
@brave cradle got it! long-term negative effects is still quite a broad term, if that makes sense, and I suggest digging deeper into that. Often times we know what's unhealthy for us, but the long-term benefits don't weight as much as the short-term reward, here the feeling of wakefulness and burst of energy after drinking that delicious caffeinated soda. What could help is a change of mindset, for example: "how can I benefit in long term with choices I make today"
For resetting the tolerance: I've been hearing it takes around a week for most people. First days will most likely include some headaches, so be ready for that. Speaking from personal experience (used to drink 8 cups of coffee a day): I highly recommend taking no caffeine at all during the time you reset. It helps you understand how it feels to be without it completely. Side note: I also noticed my addiction was connected to me drinking while playing so I made sure I had water and tea on my table at all times. I'm not sure this is the case for you, but could be.
Does anyone have some experience regarding smoking weed regularly and aiming? I first thought it fucks up my reaction time but as long as i dont smoke beforehand, its fine
It doesn't necessarily reduce pure reaction time per se, but it has significant effects on bodily kinematics. Your dosage can affect motor functions speed and error rate. Source: https://doi.org/10.2466%2Fpms.1977.45.3.935

but thats only while under the effects of thc, it doesn't have a "lingereing" effect past the point where your liver clears it out of your system in 60-120 mins
I've never heard of that happening to anyone, I have xm1r and I dont get anything like that
it went away dw
I think it was just my hand readjusting or smth
idk
so i use claw grip and just got an xm1r but when i used it i found that it feels most natural in a 1-3-1 grip. the only problem is that my pinky is pretty sore which i’ve never had before. could this be a normal part of switching grips or should i go back to normal grip to avoid injury
From trying rn, for me I think the pinky kind of half hangs onto the mouse, not being comfortable or relaxed, or even having much of a grip
Might just be me tho, since I've for the most part always been 1-2-2
i’ve always been a 1-2-2 as well this is the only mouse i feel this way with, i perform a lot better with the 1-3-1 but the only issue is it’s been bothering my pinky the last two days
Is your hand sort of narrow?
20x10 cm
try a different grip, and stretch before playing ig
Thoughts on taking creatine before or after aim training? I'm a bit more knowledge on weight training and I feel that a good diet and proper supplementation (like what people do when working out) would be hugely beneficial when trying to hit new high scores
doesn't matter when you take it afaik
Is it something that you take consistently?
creatine is a saturation based thing
timing is not relevant
it also takes like a month to reach saturation
Do you take it once per day?
i take it with my protein shake on workout days
Cause i've read you can speed up saturation by increasing the number of times you take per day
which rn is every second day
I see
well, id assume increased saturation speed is just a product of intake x time
I took it 3x throughout the day for 4 days. It is supposed to speed up the saturation process
yeah exactly
probably dont wanna take a weeks worth in one day for the sake of ur kidneys
could my workouts make my aim worse on few days for example?
Depends on if you workout before or after aim training
if you're not new to working out, no
probably makes you better if anything
as long as youre eating enough with regards to energy
maybe if you're doing some stupid bro split and completely smashing ur arms
but just do a better split at that point
r u new to working out?
nope
wtf
i dont get doms at all
unless i introduce something new
except my quads but im not leg aiming so whatever
If you’re sickish/caught-a-cold’ish should you keep cleansing your nose everytime it fills up?
Also I travel in train so I should constantly blow nose in train? People may look weird think I have the covids.
Though I know some other train people do it as well though I guess it can be ok
But still is it good?
Or should we keep the nosejuice in the nose?
crying rn
Hey @here we are going live talking about healthy snacks for gamers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1pR2pVQ8EI&ab_channel=1HP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1pR2pVQ8EI Come watch this guys! :D
why would you take creatine for aim training?
Because if you think about it aim training is just weight lifting but with the small muscles in your wrist, arm and hand
Aim training is still using muscle and if anything you should be taking more care of that muscle since its a small muscle. Small muscles are a lot more injury prone since they havent been developed as much as the large ones
once youve been aim training for 1-2 month, your muscles probably arent gonna grow or strengthen anymore anyway
creatine isn't just used for the muscular water retention aspect, it also helps with mental clarity and awareness
ive heard that, but so does staying healthy in general. you dont hear about everyone taking creatine, because it isnt necessary. if someone wants to take it thats fine, im just curious because it feels unnecessary and kind of arbitrary.
it's just to supplement what people don't get from their diet because it's basically impossible to eat normally and get your 5g of creatine from your diet
Yeah exactly. Also your muscles with still def get sore. Especially when trying to to push for better stats. I did forget to mention the thing about mental quickness (thanks @thorn haven ) Also to be a generally healthy person a normal balanced diet is good. But not everyone is trying to push for crazy stats in aim training. You don't see pro or even semi pro athletes just eating a normal balanced diet. They take so many supplements to keep them at the top of their game.
All that to say is creatine is helpful when trying to improve in aim labs. You defiantly don't need it but it will probably help you reach the kind of skill you want to hit faster
how do you guys calm down
when playing games
whenever i play val, i have this weird feeling in my shoulders and arm
and it fucks me up
You mean as in a type of stress in your arm? Or do you mean like more mental
id love to know how people dont rest their forearms on the desk/pad when they play and only lightly have their wrist touch
like yall really hold your arm up off the pad/desk slghtly?
i think ppl who naturally gravitate to that probably have shorter upper arms
purely anecdotal observation
thats kinda what i was thinking, i got long ass arms so it makes no sense
but my elbow literally rests at my waistline with neutral shoulders
so i cant do it with even the thinnest and lowest of desk
at wasitline? @silent osprey
like elbow is all the way back?
i have my desk at 27" and thats the lowest i can go to fit my legs comfortably
if i lower it to 26" i can kinda do it but my legs get crushed kinda lol
I need some help with how i use my mouse when playing I only really use forearm wrist and fingers my elbow is off my desk but for some reason from my bicep to my shoulder it hurts alot idk why any pointers would help
I can do it if I raise my chair high enough
I aim better if my arm is lightly rested on my desk though so I don't do it usually
okay this helps, ill just focus on ergonomics then and try to best achieve 90 degrees
although its kinda tough with my arm length
I'd just get as comfortable as I can
cause you'll aim better when you're not subconsciously shifting your body
and somewhat distracted due to the discomfort
so so true i rose my desk recently and now i constantly think about adjusting llol
and my body. wise words man thanks
np the 90 degree thing is like a general baseline but everyone is different so better to adjust to suit your needs
not to mention your setup can affect what will be comfortable as well
yeah so true
and im tired of constantly adjusting everything now, ill just find an ideal comfortable spot thats not bad for my body and stick with it
i have a question about consistency, my duo is pretty consistent, sits around im1-2 level and when he gets 2 hours sleep he doesnt throw but he does worse, but when it comes to me i sit around im3 at peak and diamond when bad, but when i get 1-2 hours less of sleep i end up throwing because i cant aim and go double neg? could health affect how bad you are depending on lack of sleep and what not?
short answer: yes
ok
thx
this is probs a very stupid question but how long would it take from having very poor health to taking care of myself to get consistent
no idea but the psychological effect of starting that routine will make you feel motivated and day by day you'll get better as long as you're consistent with it
it's up to you to know
varies from person to person
it will take a month or few to really fix a sleep schedule, and you'll see big improvements in health in the first few months, and more will happen over longer periods of time, it'll just take longer
kinda like this graph about pushups but it's kinda applicable to health in general, especially starting in poor health
wait thats amazing, thanks alot man. so dont change my sleep schedule every 2 weeks?
