yeah that helps a lot with reaction time and stuff since your brain can function more optimally
How do I start sleeping early?
12 AM and 7-8 AM
I want to wake up late :(((
wake up at 9
if I sleep late I want to wake up late too 😦
But I cant sleep after waking up
I check my phone to see the clock
welp that the problem
if you looking at time when you cant fall a sleep
well
i personally dont think sleep at 11 - 12 pm is late
even for a teenager?
I'll just wake up late
i wouldnt go farther
and sleep at 12 am
you can wake up later but dont over sleep
although 9 - 10 hours for teen is good
so you can wake up at 9 am or 10 am
Aight thanks
as a teenager dont stress 2 hard on sleep schedule
welp it about to be 12 am for me, I'm going to sleep
night.
same here lol
Im in a match though, good night
But yeah it'll be finished before 1 am
I don't think that site is accurate cause I can never replicate those scores on other online reaction time tests
For reference I average about 160ms on that site and on the humanbenchmark's test I can barely get below 200ms average
ur right
but it still an improvement from 200 ms
yeah
i dont really know if apm matter or not in gaming
only the games like starcraft i think
I have never personally been a fan of meds. In my eyes Meds are just temporary solution, overtime the effect of them will lessen or stop working and then you need to find some other way deal with it
I know few ADHD people who fixed their ADHD with just meditation.
a bit like caffeine? you stop drinking it for 2 days then when you take a sip after 2 days you feel that energy :p
hows your arm positioned on the table and are you sitting low or high? Could be a nerve somewhere near your elbow being pushed that might cause it. Just don't flare your arm out too much. Not a doc or certified, just trying to give some suggestions so take them with a grain of salt
Hey there,
Hope everyone are good ?
I don ‘t know if this topic has already been discussed but I want to talk about gaming chair. In fact I brought a DX RACER KING and ... in my opinion it’s the worst chair ever. I mean, in regards of confort and back supports it’s awful. Maybe it’s convenient for some people but for me I’d rather sit on 10$ ikea chair than this one.
This leads to my question, do you guys know a good gaming chair with lower back support in a price range of 150 / 300€ please ?
just get an office chair. You dont have to get a gaming chair just because it has gaming in it
No offense but I clearly disagree bro. They are lot of things but it’s not the best way to get the good posture. I even showed this chair to my chiropractor and he says that it’s insane to sell things like that to people that supposed to sit long time on it. As a tall person it destroy my back.
But you’re right about something, my posture is my biggest issues since the day 1. I’m tall, large shoulder, long arms and in 10 years of gaming I’m still trying to adjust everything ^^
Office chairs definitely are superior for long sitting sessions. I would never recommend buying a gaming chair over an office chair in similar price range
alot of wrist pain due to the nature of my work and especially aggravated due to cod and its movement mechanics
any stretches? strengthening exercises and other advice and tips i can get
I have trouble seeing stuff fast enough, like I am not myopic but when something doesnt have a color border around it (like valorant) i take a really long time to see it. What can I do abt it?
increase digital vibrance and adjust ur monitor color settings, ~sincerely an ex-r6player
I have intel graphcis so i cant really do that but tks
I’m working out everyday since 10 years especially my back to get strength and make it stronger. As a tall person it’s important but anyway. I just wanted to share my thoughts and try to get advice, but I’ll buy an office chair and the problem is solved. Thanks for sharing your thoughts bro.
what should my posture look like when i game
do your own research but my conclusion is that 90 degree angle isnt good, ideally you want to lean slightly back at like 100 degrees
maybe even 105-110
Not a professional but from what I've gathered you shouldn't be in a static position all the time whether it's 90 degree angle or 110 degrees. Switching it up by both sitting straight for some time then leaning back with a good back support is the way to go.
Increase contrast then? Using ur monitor physicsl buttons
i play on mac lol but tks for the help
my energy levels along with my performance in Valorant drop at around 3pm in the afternoon, and I play best either in the morning or in the evening, how do i prevent this?
eat more at lunch and drink more water
will nicotine effect my aim training negatively?
Is there anyone on the 1hp staff team online right now that I can take a private matter to?
Afaik that’s actually pretty common, i think due to sleep cycles most people find themselves with lower energy around that time of the day
does masturbating 10+ times a day have any affect on aim in valorant
faster flickzzz
I think doing it that many times a day is very unhealthy.
how so
I feel like this also belongs in the health channel, so I'd like to ask
How can I work on not thinking about how my setup "feels"?
I had a few hiccups with my setup and now I think a lot about how my mouse feels on my mousepad when I move it, which makes me subconsciously avoid certain movements because they "feel bad/difficult", like moving my mouse up/down and then right or left at the same time, or performing horizontal micro corrections.
I know at the end of the day that I CAN perform every movement I need, yet when I keep thinking about it it just makes it feel difficult, slow and heavy.
whats wrong with 10 - 20
nah
If you scroll to the end we have recommendations for different sized people and budgets!

Wrist pain is by far the MOST common complaint I get when I work with pros and gamers. And the first thing they often encounter online are resources telling them to rest, brace, just do stretches! Different positions will load different parts of your body. We recommend changing position every 30 minutes or so!
You are correct!
Is there a particular reason you need to perform or play well at 3pm? It sounds like morning and evening are better for your overall performance. But, if your schedule doesn't let that happen I recommend some physical activity before you play. Running in place, jumping jacks, burpees are all great options to get your heart rate and energy levels up
It's hard to know without a full assessment but it sounds like you are what we call "sensitized" to certain movements. What you need to do is reprogram your brain to understand those movements are okay. Put aside some time in your practice session to only do those movements. Not fast or quick, but intentionally while being aware of how you feel. This feeling could also be because you aren't warming your hands up or have some range of motion limitation that is holding you back
This is a good warm-up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsyUH4OIk2w&t=1s
Hey guys in this walkthrough video I tell you how you can warm up your gaming hands and perform an exercise routine just before your gaming session to help you perform better and prevent injuries. I discuss the three major ways a SPECIFIC PHYSICAL warm-up helps achieve this. Our main goal is to warm-up the muscles you are utilizing most frequent...
Well, what kind of assessment is needed? Also, I used to suffer from wrist pain and a limitation in my wrist's ROM because of that, but have since began correcting it and developing more stability, as well as less tightness, in my forearms. This issue, however, was present even before such pain began, which leads me to believe that I am certainly in need of some desensitisation to movements, something I find I am able to do periodically, yielding clear benefits that allow me to, for a time at least, feel 100% free and comfortable when gaming
From what you are telling me it sounds like it is likely sensitization. Doing what I recommended above with the warm-up and some dedicated time to exploring those more sensitive movements will help you. Pain is a protective mechanism and your brain knows that area needed protection in the past. You now have to tell your brain that those movements are okay and don't need as much protection. That is how you overcome this issue. The assessment would look at your range of motion, injury history, set-up etc. But what I described is a great place to start
45 minutes is okay but if you can work up to 30 that is even better. I always say don't let perfect be the enemy of good. If 45 is sustainable and comfortable for you then start there!
You are very welcome, I hope this helps! Also if your shoulder hurts when you lean back make sure you are close enough to your desk that you don't have to strain to use your mouse
no real reason, i just play at random times and i wish i could be more consistent with my performance. thanks for the tips tho
Hello, can anyone recommend some gaming chairs? Or is there a sheet like for mice and mouse pads?
Looking for smth with good posture, and preferably fabric instead of this fake leather
https://www.1-hp.org/blog/hpforgamers/how-to-choose-a-gaming-mouse-ergonomics-calculator/
That should sort you out!
I recently had a chance to sit down and talk with Sean Morrison at ESPN about the Herman Miller x Logitech gaming chair announcement. I wanted to expand on my thoughts about ergonomics and give you guys a bit of a guide as to how to pick the best chair for gaming. (Note: if you...
Absolutely, I completely agree. Intuitively making those movements when such signals have been established between my brain and hands is neigh impossible, so I'm certainly going to have to do a lot of active training, both in Kovaak's and in game, to reestablish a neural pathway of 100% freedom with mice movements, at least without any subliminal limitations. In terms of the assessment, I see what you mean, and if it's this kind of assessment we're talking about, then I'm perfectly fine. I am fortunate enough to be in contact with a corrective exercise specialist who has assessed me and helped me identify any possible limitations in my ROM, which is why I started training to strengthen and release my forearms to begin with.
Thank you for the thorough response! I'll be very mindful and conscious of my movements starting today. I appreciate your time 😄
for real? there are literally no good gaming chairs for posture?
thanks, ill go take a look at it
my mouse is fine, ill still take a look i guess haha, dont have any problems with pain in my arm or hands anymore
That is great to hear! It sounds like you found a great source of support and I'm glad they are helping you recover. You are very welcome, good luck!
Some are better but as you will see in the article it is usually cheaper and more ergonomic to go with an office chair
hmm i understand. im currently using a very old office chair, but im not satisfied with it
most pain is coming in my left hand from keyboard use, do the same ones apply to that scenario as well?
Cait lists some great options there. It depends on what your budget is
Yes, the same principles apply.
thank you
You're welcome, good luck!
does anyone else get hand pain when gripping smaller mice? should i get a bigger mice or ease up on the grip
well what i learned from the article is that having a multitude of points for adjusting is key, that i want some support for my neck, and that i need to visit a store and actually sit on the chair before buying it lol
my budget is around 300 euros i guess, might go higher if its really worth it tho
You got it exactly right, just make sure the head rest doesn't force your head forward and you will be good. I hope you find something that works for you!
I always prefer to do something without money first. Or you can use our mouse calculator to see if it is a good fit for you: https://www.1-hp.org/blog/hpforgamers/how-to-choose-a-gaming-mouse-ergonomics-calculator/
If it is a good size then spend about 30 minutes a day just intentionally doing aim scenarios or gaming without gripping your mouse tightly. Deliberately use a loose grip. It will make a difference
thanks for the advice
You are welcome, have a good one
My eyes are dry and vision is blur after aim training for only 10mins,any tips?
It is because I focus on my monitor hard and my eyes becomes tired in short time
Are u blinking
I think no so there is anyway to makes ur eyes blink when aiming?
Hi guys, I’ve been aim training for an hour every day for two months and starting today my wrist is kind of sore and my forearm hurting a little bit. Any advice for this?
Stretch your wrists and take a break from playing to avoid more pain
How long should I take a break for and can I still play apex? 😂
Wrist pain is by far the MOST common complaint I get when I work with pros and gamers. And the first thing they often encounter online are resources telling them to rest, brace, just do stretches! A 1HP guy recommended this as a long term solution. Taking a break is only short term

get a girlfriend mate

i have a girlfriend
why u masturbating 20 times a day then lmfao
bro its my cardio
Hi guys, I found out this video. https://youtu.be/JKIAd77zX58 I do noticed that I tend to use my wrist more than I do than my arm. I play on 34 cm. Should I adjust my sens?
Here are the major reasons that I believe cause wrist and forearm pain from PC gaming. Please keep in mind that I'm not a qualified expert - these are things that I've experienced through my career and from speaking with other gamers.

You don't need to blink in the exact middle of a scenario just make sure inbetween scenarios you take a moment to make sure you're blinking and you'll be fine
Reverse Curls, Preacher Curls, Forearm Curls can help develop muscle, but endurance is formed over time so when you do feel strained get some proper rest and recovery
what does hand/wrist pain like this mean?
and what I do to make it fk off?
red = worst/most frequent pain, yellow = not too bad but annoying still, orange = in between
also sometimes it tintles
How straight is your wrist when playing? I've experienced terrible pain in the same areas you've illustrated when I put my wrists in a more right-facing direction. https://youtu.be/rEub91nggig?t=172 This vid helped me realize what I was doing wrong
Benjyfishy sent me photos of his posture & ergonomics... and I was shocked (mainly because of his mouse grip??). I wasn't surprised though. This is a posture & ergonomic gaming setup review from one of the best fortnite players in the world. In this video I asked Benjy to send me images of his posture, ergonomics and a time lapse of him playing ...
clean your mousepad
??? will that fix the wrist/hand issues?
and the mousepad isnt dirty, it's just discolored
likely
why would that fix it
because look at it
so you're just here to try and bash my mousepad
idc about speed lol
my mousefeet are the most worn and uneven pieces of crap anyway
they're overrated
I'll give you nitro if you send a photo of it cleaned
XD
I'm serious
I think I have an old photo somewhere
send a photo of it getting cleaned and I'll give nitro
This is how I hold my mouse in rest mode
sure
make sure you're doing the 1hp wrist exercises, and how long do you play at a time? Maybe your wrists are just fatigued. That's all I can tell you, hopefully someone more knowledgeable can give some advice.
oh I'll look up their wrist exercise then okay
I don't know if they are fatigued, sometimes I play for 6 hours straight, but lately due to a bit of pain I stopped doing that and now I barely play much at all
also because my headphones give me electric sound when I move my mouse and it triggers me continuously, let alone for hours on end the sound omg I can't bare it, but that's a different issue entirely
This part of my hand is hurting recently (seen under my thumb)
The muscle on your palm? If so maybe use your phone less.
after stretching how long should you wait before gaming?
you can just go right away, I usually warm up while drinking water on the side and walking around my house
no but they say stretching is better to do after gaming
warming up/mobility right before gaming
but stretching after
they say stretching is bad to do before gaming
so if you game
then stretch
and then want to game again
how long should you wait
I need help figuring out why my hands sweat so much i play finger tip but even then my fingers sweat and i cant keep a consistent grip and i ruins my focus cuz im constantly trying to adjust my fingers cuz they slip
uhm
my fingers are kinda weird idk if u guys know how to fix it
its like bent to the side
why does my hand get colder the more I play?
colder? or just shaky?
Colder like I put it on my face and it's cold
Know how everyone hands gets warmer or sweaty, mine gets cold. So my controllers do be living luxury.
I don't think so. I am usually very loose with my grip and don't think I put pressure on my elbow
It's mainly when I use a controller than a mouse tho. Very rarely will I get it with a mouse.
The only person I know that has the same issue is Armada(SSBM) has the same issue. He uses hand warmers at tournaments cause of it
I'm holding it how most people do.
No special grip style like claw, just casual gaming grip.
Like if you looked up a stereotypical stock image of gamer, pretty much what I do.
All good as long as it's not a medical emergency.
nah but hand warmers might be a good idea
if its a problem
Yeah but I don't find it annoying. Was just curious if it's an emergency
Every time I hand or switch controllers with friends they are surprised.
hey all! My wrist has been hurting when aim training for even a simple 20 minutes of practice. I'm wondering if I'm applying too much pressure in my wrist still. I have been reducing the pressure I put on to it but even the slightest amount of pressure will cause pain. Should my wrist not have ANY tension at all? or just a tiny bit? because even with the tiniest amount when Im doing, say, Thin Aiming long slow, my wrist starts hurting a lot. I don't know if this is normal or not. When there is absolutely no pressure on my wrist to aim accurately, I don't feel pain, but my aim goes to shite. Is this something I just have to correct with my aim? I feel very lost rn 😦
dm @surreal orbit
Hey so idk if this is the best channel but I was told to grip very tight so that I could have the best control on my mouse and this started happening to my hand after the first week of kovaaks
I don’t even play much just maybe 4hrs a day or so
varl youve been here long enough that i cant tell if this is a troll but thats all ive seen you do here so idk
Guys guys
Me need better chair
I'm around 180cm tall, table has adjustable height
What should I expect for using 10cm for a week?
what are some decent ones to look at?
Don't please, it's gonna hurt so bad and give you issues to grip very tight
10cm is stupendously high, I'd use at max 16 or so, even that is kinda extreme. That will help u be more precise with your wrist and fingers, as long as you focus on being smooth and having good technique.
And don't tense ur hand, otherwise you can get some hand issues like rsi
Oh, u don't meed good technique to prevent wrist injuries
Oh, u don't meed good technique to prevent wrist injuries
Because I use 15cm for like 6 months now and I feel like I miss out on something
Just don't be stupid, stretch your wrist/hand, do some light workout, and don't tense your hand much
USE LOWER SENS PLEASE FFS
it's fine
There are many techniques you can use, and different techniques are better for different players.
However there are some extremes that will have larger demands on certain muscles/joints.
Regardless, the game/practice time scheduling and body conditioning is more important
In this video I talk about how important wrist placement is when it comes to holding the mouse. It is often the most common reason why we develop pinky-sided wrist pain. It is a SIMPLE fix but not always easy as tend to think it takes more time than necessary to make a change.

okay, thank you very much.
You don't NEED to grip very hard to control the mouse well.
In fact overgripping will tire your hand/wrist muscles quickly and impact endurance/performance.
It is fine to experiment and see which one works best for YOU. There is no one style/grip fits all.
https://www.1-hp.org/blog/hpforgamers/optimizeyoursurroundings/seat-yourself-how-to-pick-the-best-chair-for-gaming/
This should help you decide!
Sounds like either a conditioning issue (muscle/tendons not strong enough) or a positioning issue, most likely the former.

(See the wrist placement video a few messages about to check positioning)

Thanks dude! Much appreciated ❤️
drugs only vyvanse i dont do alcohol nicotine or caffeine
hot weather yes but room temp is always 68
when are u supposed to stretch? before or after gaming? tyy
Damn i guess im gonna have to just deal with it cuz without it I can’t function normal
It’s just really hard
I was wondering, do you guys think being really young (like 13) might negatively affect aim?
no
I've vaped for 2 years. Ran out of juice last night and decided to cold turkey stop. So far so good. Just posting here and other social media places for accountability to help myself 🙂
doesn't matter
Sounds good man now you not gonna have watery lungs and save more brain cells ;)
probably better as long as you understand the theories behind aiming and mouse control
as your reaction time is usually faster that young
ok thank you guys
why would u need to know the theories behind aiming and mouse control
just aim lol.
when youre that young half the time youre autopiloting and dont understand shit
atleast most of the people ive played with that young were autopiloting and not really thinking about what they were doing
hlep
what to do on lockdown
for a physical activity
that isnt just straight up workout
I need a freaking hobby to keep me active
how do I run indoor
dancing, shadow boxing, VR games like Beat Saber, running in place . Apart from those I'd just do push ups, mountain climbers, squats, jumpin jacks, burpees, dips, frog leaping or crawling/spider walk
Is putting pressure on my forearm bad ?
probably has covid rn
Asking cuz there’s a tingling sensation going down my whole arm
If you press it too hard you will slow down/stop your blood flow as far as I know.
I got eyestrain when I do static dots. Any ideias why might be causing it?
my upper right back hurts idk what to do
guys
tintling in the thumb-side of your hand is carpal
tintling in the pinky-side of your hand is cubital
why is my whole hand tintling
@tropic talon have you checked that you haven't trapped a nerve
You might need to take a break from aiming and adjust your posture
if your whole hand is tingling its time to get it evaluated, go to a physio
hey guys
so
I have these kinda weird fingers it’s kinda tilted to the side and it’s weird to look at idk if u guys know if there is any fix to it or anything
Like this?
Does it cause any pain/discomfort?
it causes a little bit of discomfort
If your whole hand is tingling, it might have to do with nerves that are more proximal (closer to your spinal cord) as opposed to distal (further out towards your hands, like the median nerve in the carpal tunnel or at the pronator teres). Take a look at your posture--do you tend to sit with one shoulder higher? Do you spend more time with your head turned or tilted to one side?
You'll also want to make sure your setup is supporting you well. Do you have good support for your arms, like using armrests regularly?
It depends on what kind of "hurt" it is, but a good place to start is with some gentle stretching for the upper trapezius and levator scapulae. Matt goes over some good stretches and exercises here: https://youtu.be/gQyhRwsY-l8
If you are a gamer, you have probably heard of nerd neck before. It is a position a lot of us do not realize we’re in until… maybe someone points it out or takes a picture of you. And oftentimes it can be a reason for some neck discomfort or even headaches during or after your gaming session. Chances are you aren’t able to play how you want to. ...
If it's muscular in nature, you could also check out a Theracane. It's a self-massage tool that's great for working on right muscles in your back.
Depends on where and how much pressure! Resting your whole forearm on an armrest is totally fine. Resting just your elbow or just your wrist on a surface can put more compression on your nerves, tendons, and blood vessels.
Well my chair is a bit too low, so my posture isnt amazing no
My chair used to be able to go up and down, but now when I put it on a higher mode and sit on it, it puffs and sinks down
This is my rightside posture
Is bad?
It looks like your shoulder is in a lot of abduction/flexion, so out to the side and then reaching forward. Are you able to scoot a bit closer so that your elbow is a little closer to your side? Generally, your elbow is going to be at least a little bit in front of your shoulder, but the goal should be for it closer to/almost directly under your shoulder when possible.
You might consider looking into clip-on armrests, when you can attach directly to the desk to just give you a little more support, which would let you bring your elbow/hand back towards you a bit while still giving you stability.\
to get my elbow closer to my side, I would have to get my shoulder up
that feels a bit wrong
Can you get a picture of your torso/shoulder position as it is currently vs if you shift to the new, closer-to-the-side position?
of course
Like this?
Perfect! That gives me a bit more context.
You mentioned that your seat height tends to sink over time? Or is stuck at a slightly lower height?
stuck at a low height
when I up it
it just sinks down when I sit on it
in a couple seconds it reaches the low height again
I don't have such a problem with a chair but my arm are like that too
is the chair height to low for you?
but I guess if this is the reason I will just have to try and up the height at which I sit
I put some clothes here
maybe it'll fix it
I mean it's alright for me but I just don't feel completely comfortable with the hand position
it's okay when I ignore it but akward when I think about it
So generally, you want your elbow to be level with about your bellybutton height
When your chair is too low, you either have to have your shoulder up too high or your arm out too far forward to get your hand in a comfortable position.
You could always try stacking something on the chair, eg. pillows.
That lets you have your elbow at bellybutton height and your forearm supported at the same level as your keyboard/mouse.
Try it out with a pillow you already have first, just to make sure you find it comfortable
You don't want to go and spend money on something and then realize it doesn't actually help
its always better to have elbow at a 90 than feet on the floor right
or more important i guess
I'm super short, so I've had to make that compromise before, but it's not optimal. I'd recommend putting something underneath your feet instead. I used textbooks at first, and eventually bought a rocking footrest.
Yeah I think I need a break my forearm is just bothering so much it genuinely hurts to play

I was really bored of gaming in general and then I stopped playing as much and started working out and I was enjoying my life a lot more.. now it sort of feels like I have become numb to the feeling I get from working out (idk if that's the right way to say it) but I'm not enjoying it as much, can anyone help with this or?
do something else on the side besides working out
play a sport, go out with friends, etc
that way each day doesn't feel the same
Hello, I have a question. My arm gets tired very easily when i aim train is there any solution to this?
Anyone else have tendinitis
Any tips how to prevent my palms sweating? It sweats a ton even if I'm in cold environments.
Try this for dexterity: https://youtu.be/53IPxoTgLxY
And for forearm/wrist endurance, try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN5SORO5OUE&list=PLcfMAtSMnESfTusR3S0ZH13rwktAK5ZvX&index=13
Improving the dexterity and control of the muscles you use to hold the mouse (specific to your grip) can help you improve your aim, control and consistency as a gamer. This is an exercise you can implement to not only help with developing endurance but overall control of the muscles you utilize while you game. This can be beneficial for both th...

A couple things you can try:
- put antipersperant on your palms before playing (make sure you put it on before you start getting sweaty, or it won't work)
- try using alcohol-based hand wipes or hand sanitizer
- stay hydrated to keep your body temperature cooler, reducing how much you sweat
- increase your exercise levels to help reduce stress, which can contribute to sweating more.
My wrist and forearm kinda hurts when aiming? That sounds bad what should I do?
stretch
It's kinda been like this since I was a kid. I think it's a genetic something. Are there any other fixes? I've tried these before.
replying to this
I am skateboarding as well
I'm starting to not enjoy anything again
If you've tried those, it's time to talk to a doctor. There are other treatments, but they require an MD to prescribe/administer
uhm so I put a neat pile of clothes on my chair so my wrist/arm/shoulder posture is better
well, it is better
but now my ass hurts when I sit on it a bit
and even more when I get off it
xd
how do I fix the new problem now?
stacked clothes on the chair => butt starts screaming
in between my middle and ring finger on my right hand there is a slight discomfort there when I go on kovaaks what should I do for it?
I dunno if its rsi or something else
Softer cushion! Try a pillow.
but I dont think its good idea to sit on sleep pillow?
I also dont understand why need softer cushion, clothes should be soft
and I can sit fine on wooden chair
its so weird
thank you for your good help though
I think it help me with the wrist problem
or it is just placebo could also be 😂
Pillow tends to fit the contours of the body better. Clothes don't necessarily have as much give, so they might not fit you as comfortably as a cushion
:/
i have slightly impaired eyes, i was wondering, glasses on or off when gaming?
on i would think
Yeah I’d imagine wearing your glasses or contacts would be best
okay, thank you guys!
how can i fix my TERRIBLE slouch (elongated back muscles and rolled shoulders)
could anyone link me some guides for exercises to help with shoulder and neck tension? As I work in IT most of my day is in front of the PC I get quite tired/tense on this areas sometimes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faf_CS4Z0yc
These are at least what I've done and they work. Then there's the reverse shoulder stretch

I want to take a break of what’s causing it
I hit abs after every workout so maybe that’s why idk
Like for example I just finished a workout there and my hand is killing me
what is the right table and chair height
I want to seek for motivation to keep up grinding for a goal but I don’t know how anyone got some advise could really use some
Since my mental health is pretty shit aswel it maybe will help
probably should see a mental health professional

Hey guys! I did it, I created the perfect posture routine for us. This is likely one of a few posture walkthroughs I will come out with for our community. This is a routine which addresses postural syndromes of BOTH the upper and lower body. Future routines will likely isolate eac...
He is a great routine Matt put together but I want you to also make sure your station is set up well. The top of your monitor should be at eye level and straight ahead of you so you don't have to rotate your neck. Your mouse and keyboard should be in easy reach without straining. Your forearms should also be supported with your armrests!
If you are a gamer, you have probably heard of nerd neck before. It is a position a lot of us do not realize we’re in until… maybe someone points it out or takes a picture of you. And oftentimes it can be a reason for some neck discomfort or even headaches during or after your gaming session. Chances are you aren’t able to play how you want to. ...
Is it only after working out that your palm hurts or is it also after gaming?
Feet flat on the floor, Knees at 90 degrees, hips also at 90. Then elbows should fall to around your belly button height. Straight line from your elbow to your middle finger from the top and side. Adjust everything to hit those marks and you should be good!
I agree with Erik here. A mental health professional will be able to help you much more than we can. If you're in the states then this page has a ton of options for you: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/find-help/

@ripe valve can you tell me what i should do? yesterday I was playing tennis and my wrist really hurts when i play
What part of your wrist hurts?
scaphoid
Did you fall on it? Is there any bruising? Does the pain ever stop?
You should go see a doctor! Broken fingers might need to be set and likely needs a brace
Both but when I’m playing my left hand and right is soar my fingers the ones that go on the keyboard
Thank you :)
Idk why but when i stare and focus for 2 minute my eyes feel blur
Take a break
My duo in Apex got into a car crash yesterday, no major injuries (only minor bruises) but his wrists got hurt as well.
He didn't tell me the specifics and i don't think its appropriate to ask him now. What are some general things that he can do to prevent permanent damage/ help recovery
thanks
rest
have you seen a doctor about it?
you could try to do like few push ups everytime you get up from your chair or something to spend some extra energy. Other thing that comes to my mind is that you might be stressed... in which case I'd suggest to sort that stuff out as soon as possible.
You can try to like change your bed sheets, buy new pillow/blanket and see if it helps.
Give this a try: https://youtu.be/JoedUZ4OpPY
If there was no trauma adding in some stretches and conditioning should help. If you need more personalized help we also do injury coaching on patreon.com/1hp

Keeping himself and his wrists moving within pain is also important. It depends on the kind of injury he sustained at his wrist. If there is a fracture that is very different from a sprain for example. Going to see his doctor in person would be a great idea to got a general check-up to ensure he is alright!
Wrist wise here is a great video to stretch and strengthen the area: https://youtu.be/JoedUZ4OpPY

Okay thanks appreciate the help have a good day
It depends on what is waking you up. Can you point to anything in particular?
Thank you, will relay that to him
You're welcome! We really want to rule out any fractures or dislocations here. Those require different management
does resistance training have any negative impact on my aim training?
not unless u have bad scheduling
generally best advice is just to do any gaming/aiming whatever before you do a workout so you can avoid fatigue fucking with ur progress
its not like you can't just try stuff yourself
personally i aim better with a pump from lifting, provided im not fully drained
but i have like 5-10 'sessions' throughout the day as my squat rack is literally right behind my desk
if you're doing a big session in one segment rather than throughout the day, you're obviously going to be pretty drained afterwards, and not able to exert as much energy or attention to your aim
if you're asking as more of a "if i lift weights does my aim get worse" rather than timing stuff
no
probably the opposite given you're stimulating muscles more frequently and developing better mind muscle 'path ways' or whatever
Whats the best way to improve my reaction time?
I have an interview with a guy who does meditation and psychotherapy research
anything u would find interesting
any question that pops in ur head
how to prevent tilt
@fleet moat focus on youself stop giving a shit about ur team and try to carry as much as you can, basically focus on yourself i stead of teammates
i try that but i keep rushing to revive my teammates as soon as i can

i don't know why
what game is that for
apex
idk there in battle royales i dont tilt for some reasons i guess
whenever i die i just know im not good enough to win that
idk what happened to me, i never got tilted back when i was dogwater at the game
now i get mad no matter what game i die in
Recently im having some pain i googled but i couldnt find the name basically the bottom of my palm where palm connects with rest of the hand. I feel the pain when i tilt wrist hard left or hard right
Welp my friend group is officially over, we didn’t meet for a very long time and every time we talk I see someone fight in the group. Just got a message from my friend on discord after two months not hearing from him saying “sorry misclick”, I then see I got an invite on steam of him inviting me for csgo, the misclick, only that I see that’s on the invite is written that 2 more people are playing with him. Nice 👍
srry if it’s like cringe or smthn I just needed to vent out
if I get wrist pain in the late evening/night
should I go to bed earlier to avoid the pain
and then wake up earlier to play?
If have like a pain in my wrist thats not that bad but still tingles in my wrist/arm. Do i have RSI or am i good i dont know
just get new friends smh
I mean ye working on it, it’s just very sad, I knew them since 7th grade and now we’re also gonna be in separate classes, it’s just sad
Thanks :>
my left wrist (which i use to aim) has become discolored sometimes after extensive hrs of practice it turns pink at the point of contact with the my mousepad, its been like this for some time so i dont exp. pain but i feel like my range of motion on that hand has been limited, does anyone else face the same problem, i going to be using sleeves from now on, is every mousepad that abrasive? (considering you play fps everyday is that bound to happen if u dont wear a sleeve? (any mousepad suggestions?)
True but I believe it’s sadder if you trynna keep that kind of friendship. Like you said someone fights every time you guys talk, not the people worth staying around with... and I see you’re in school so making new friends is exceptionally easy (depending on your confidence to talk ofc)
Well yeah it’s not worth keeping this bond it’s just sad, these things started happening not long ago, before everything was alright, I did already meet up with some new people it’s just sad that a bond like that has to end
any advice on how to stop quitting early
every game i play, i would play 1 or 2 games
if I do bad or lose, I quit
for me the biggest thing is having teammates that don't rage lol. that seems to make the whole team tilt to me
is easier to not tilt when people aren't yelling every time something happens
even if something makes them mad, just keeping it to themselves and moving on with the game works for me
Take some time to breath in between matches
super necessary to keep calm and relaxed
if you do bad, don't only reflect on that! Reflect on what went well too
alright, ill start doing this thanks
Ofc! Always important to have a healthy mindset when it comes to games
Does anyone know of any application that can help me with looking at an object 20 feet away every 20 minutes for 20 seconds?
set an alarm on ur phone and then just go outside for like a couple minutes lol
anyone know how to recover a bad day in a game, or recover from it
all my matches in Apex today have been
- crack a guy with a full r99 mag
- push the everliving shit out of him
- die because you can't hit the rest of your shots
i can't stand it bro
one bad game just spoils the rest
i want to be good at this game, but my fucking mentality of all things keeps holding me back
i feel like i'm just going backwards instead of progressing at all
is grinding in your arm while doing smoothness normal
Hey Ive been told to ask my question here since people dont know whats happening. I'm gonna explain it the best I can sorry if it sounds dumb, so I have this issue when I'm clicking every once and awhile my finger will like use the muscles for clicking and I can feel it but I don't end up actually clicking.(Its not a mouse issue(?) I've tested on the gpx hati s viper 8k xm1r and gpro my finger does it on all of them) Its not a constant thing but its definitely caused me to throw a few pbs
Hey guys just a random thing I have been thinking about and I wanted to know if anyone had thoughts on it. Is fingertip grip the best mouse grip for hand health? The reason I ask is because of the mouse called the Zaunkoenig M2k. It is a fingertip grip only mouse and the creators of the mouse hold the belief that fingertip grip is the optimal grip for hand health. They cite experts to support their claims. Anyways just wanted to know what you guys think
any grip will be fine for hand health
the only time where a certain grip can be unhealthy is if you put a lot of pressure or you tense up your hand
while gripping your mouse
because that can strain your hand more quickly '
hey guys, got a question. Am I the only one whose eyes hurt when playing kovaak? It might be because i don't blink enough but when I do I can't fully focus on the target and makes me get lower scores. Just wanna know if I'm the only one in this situation
oh and it's essentially on tracking exercices
My eyes get dry, then my eyes get wet because they were dry, then i see blurry because my eyes get too wet... veru fun
yeah thats what i meant by "hurt", I tried to put a much darker walls texture and sky and looks way better
most likely you don't blink
so your eyes get dry
but here is a question, is fingertip actually the best grip? Because i see it everywhere
in theory, it's the best for small adjustments
but there's objectively no best grip
hmm, because i just grab my mouse and thats just how i hold it lol
Was told to post this here:
My biggest struggles are with smaller shorter strafing scenarios (controlosphere, air angelic 4, etc), I'm getting gold scores, whereas I can get Jade on things like smoothbot. I feel like my fingers are very shaky and my wrist gets stuck to my desk. I do transfer a lot of weight from my arm through my fingers onto the mouse (ftip grip, 35cm). I'm not sure how to fix this. Resting my arm and pain have been big struggles for me, any advice? It's like my whole hand and wrist tense and lock up involuntarily. I'm sitting in approximately the recommended posture position, with about 40-45% of my lower arm on my desk. I tend to feel a burning sensation in my forearm as well as some acute pain in my elbow. I literally have 0 clue what is going on and would be grateful for any advice.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3e3i06iDM0 <- me playing controlosphere
not sure if this fits here, just curious regarding how often you people take breaks during kovaaks practice?
depends on the routine im playing, but typically whenever i start a new section of that routine i’ll take a short break
What would be a good at home workout to do everyday to lose body fat
Just got my first dose of Pfizer
has anyone here ever had a cortisone shot? its looking like its going to be an option for me in the near future
ive had chronic tendonitis for ~4 years, but over the last 2 years my wrist has gotten fucked up
Sounds like your table is too high/chair is too low and it creates tension, you should be able to use your keyboard and mouse with relaxed shoulders
I am unable to increase my chair height further/lower desk height... I found that sitting on a smaller pillow kinda fixed this problem but is doing this bad for something else?
should I arm aim with double jointed thumbs?
Congratulations!
I have a similar situation, I wound up just buying one of those chair topper pads
probably accomplishes the same thing
the thumb on my right hand is double jointed (also the arm I use my mouse with), I haven't had issues with arm or wrist aim
as for arm aim vs wrist aim I don't really think of it as either/or
I use both depending on the situation
I have had a cortisone shot
Not sure how your diet looks, in general though if someone doesn't have their diet in check that is a good place to start
Exercise is awesome and has tons of health benefits, which are reason enough to do it
But it is extremely difficult to out-train a bad diet
So focusing on that is a good place to start for a lot of people. We can underestimate the amount of calories we eat sometimes unless we actively track it and get a feel for things. There are (free) apps that can help with that. Aside from that, if someone doesn't exercise working towards the AHA's recommended amount of physical activity while also getting their diet in check would probably be a good starting point
Just want to reemphasize that while exercise is important for our health, a lot of our focus should be on diet as well. Even if you live in the gym, if you're eating a poor diet it will be extremely difficult to get the results you want
Did you have it in your wrist? How did it go?
I had it in my knee. It seemed to work well. Didn't hurt very bad, no real side effects either. For me at any rate
I'd imagine it was caused by runners knee or something similar right?
Avoid it if you can do physical therapy imo
For lots of people, cortisone wears out over time and then you're just back to square one
If you use the pain relief to work on your body in order to heal it, sure it's reasonable, though I'm not sure how prefential masking the pain is as far as being able to feel how your body responds to therapy
noted, thanks
When I track, my right tracking is much worse than my left because I have much more mobility in my right wrist going to the left, should I do stretches or something to increase my right wrist right mobility.
Hey @violet swan I tried to respond but couldn't
When i focus to one thing it feels like everything is blury
Glasses
why ?
shoulder joint feels a little bit sore after playing a lot of kovaaks yesterday... didn't feel it until I woke up today.. should I be worried?
not 100% sure that it's the shoulder joint, atleast around that area
after i workout i can barely move my arms so id say no
Hi guys! Would appreciate any advice. I'm a wrist aimer and after taking a break from gaming 1.5 years ago, I've started getting the shoulder pains. People suggested that I needed to change the posture and lower my sensitivity. Long story short, that didn't help. I am pretty comfortable with the way I sit (how comfortable the chair is or how high/low do i sit) Right now I'm thinking about switching to the higher sensitivity to manage my problems. But is there any other solution? Has anyone else faced such an issue?
@lofty jay relax your hand when you play
been doing that for a while, my arm feels like a noodle and I lose that sense of control. But I guess, everything comes with practice. Thank you!
Dunno. Add me
can you now?
i get really bad forearm pain when playing kovaaks or cod any tips
try to relax all ur muscle as much as you can when playing
@marble cedar ok will try
cs requires a lot of focus and im in lack of it, idk what is it is it that i have a habbit to llay hungry when i skip meals or dont drink enough water etc. Any help?
Have a proper diet, if you don't feel like that then you can shortcut with nootropics and stims
Stuff like gorilla mind rush (stim) and smooth (stim free) can work wonders if you respond well to them and don't abuse them
i get cortisone shots every 6 months, they are god sent
i'm a certified personal trainer, if anyone has any questions or anything like that my dms are always open and i'm happy to help
bet
I have been working on improving my eye focus lately and realized that when I move my eyes from left to right, instead of going in a straight line, my eyes follow a sine wave pattern.
This also happens while reading for example. I don't know if this the intended behavior of eyes so wanted to ask.
Anyone know how to sleep faster and better?
get on a good sleep schedule, I recently have been supplementing cbd and melatonin aswell as wearing blue light glasses
when practising for a bit, I experience some form of strain around the circled area, especially when playing static scenarios. Any way to reduce tension around here? TIA 🙂
you should do t spine mobility and roll out and stretch your pecs
Is mental health a thing in this channel?
I'd like it to be, go ahead and post your question and lets see if we can help. 1hp team has experience there as well
Yeah I usually dig my hand a little bit for grip and @quartz coral ty will do
anyone know when the voltaic shower routine is being released
i feel as if its only appropriate since theres a sleep guide
can i use space instead of mb1 for target switching? my finger is hurts so bad
Anyone have any tips for wrist pain
I get it quite a bit I think from working out, gaming and then sports all combining
Puts strain on my wrist
what are some good chairs?
Herman Miller Aeron
Heman Miller Embody
Steelcase Leap
Steelcase Gesture
Steelcase Think
so my wrist dosent hurt while not gaming but as soon as i start gaming it starts hurting any suggestions for why this happens
Any tips on how to choose a Physio/therapist that will help me with my needs?
Why my hand feel some random pain
Steifensand builds very high quality chairs aswell
I have an adjustable desk and want to put it to good use, is there anyway i can calculate desk height for me? What do most people have it set too
can do it in a corner of room aswell, helps for me atleast
could be pec tightness
wow this fitness app has really high standards
meh
if ur doing a proper ROM pushup without cheesing, 10 is a kind of difficult number for anyone who hasn't actually trained before
its trivial otherwise, but good luck having the average reasonably healthy person reach that
What
I am a weakling
And can do 10
I shouldn't be advanced here
Unless advanced just means "has a body"
there is a decent chance ur not doing a full ROM pushup
unless ur also quite light
but u could also just naturally be decent at that movement
I'm in a healthy weight range but quite light yeah
maybe that
what does ROM mean? Just Range of motion or sth else?
ye range of motion
Welll I think I am
also the more parallel ur elbows are to your shoulders, the easier it gets
tho thats less of a gatekeeping/form thing as it is just scaling difficulty
Mmh
not tryna diminish where ur at either, if you are doing proper form then 10 is a nice starting point
I am not fit at all
Welll guess that depends on who u compare to
Anyways, I am not quite sure if I can trust this app. I want to do some medium - high intensity upper body workouts few times a week, like 20-40 minutes daily, added on tthat is cycling + just walking around. What's a good starting point there, where cna I find good workout routines?
take a video of yourself doing pushups you might be surprised lol
what feels like good form usually isnt
Can anyone point me in the direction of an article or more info on having ADHD and getting around the issues with it to get better at gaming/aiming?
what to do when eyes tired from prolonged staring at screen, Im literally seeing double vision
im struggling when i played under pressure i miss everything when its important situation any help? Also the reason i lose so many games 16-14
how many hours do you have in the game?
1920
do you use any stimulants, caffeine nicotine etc? exercise at all?
if you rule those out then you need to start focusing on building confidence
i do like every second day do some workouts
I don't even think I have good form
there really isn't too big of an issue there - I have adhd as well, and while it is way harder or even impossible to focus for long amounts of time, you can and will improve if you want it enough and put in the time + effort. The deficit in motor control that comes with adhd can be overcome with practice, and adhd meds like adderal also help with that. Adhd meds are there for you to have an easier time in your daily life, if they help use them.
@prisma cradle I’m still new to this world where I don’t blame myself for things a chemical imbalance causes. And yeah focus seems to be my hardest thing to over come. And the jittery control stuff has gotten a lot better. Just looking for ways to work with it. I’m seeing a doc soon about meds for it
Great to hear!
@prisma cradle I put hours in. And I’m a bit older than most gamers (35) so it’s hard enough. I went undiagnosed my whole life and only recently had the puzzle pieces put together. But I want to find out more. Hopefully to help with learning to pay attention more. It’s super hard when you’re grinding routines. My mind will drift and I’ll get side tracked
When gripping the mouse, are you supposed to have a loose grip? By that I mean, hardly any tension at all in your hand/wrist/arm?
how can i get shredded
serious question
im alr pretty athletic
but like
tryna get shredded
Dynavap worth?
top of monitor at or slightly below eye level is best for neck/back correct?
attain muscle mass and definition, and depending on ur definition, lower bodyfat %
no shit
do u have access to a reasonable equiped gym?
ye thats the hard part then
the bodyweight subreddit has a decent wiki iirc
but its going to be a long journey since higher reps = more time
ehats the sub called exactly
calisthenics and bodyweight training can certainly get results but its just a PITA for most people
not sure lemme check
i dont do bodyweight myself so i cant really tell you what's worth or not
but afaik they have some good resources
along with the /r/fitness sub
alr i will check those out
though if you want some faster results, an investment in dumbbells & bench is probably worth considering
im not allowrd to lift
parents wont let me
wat
"my parents won't let me extend my lifespan and life quality with practically zero downsides"
theyll let me do like bidyweight stuff
idk if you're really young, but the thing about stunting growth is a myth
ur not going to grow higher because u lift weights lol
its like 99% genetics as long as you have reasonable nutrition
stunted growth from malnutrition is going to cause way worse things than just being short
see if you can get some resistance bands
how would i use those
theyre not weights but if you're smart you can sure as fuck get results with them
idk any routine per-se
but they're just one form of adding resistance to a movement, much like a dumbbell or barbell
but instead of gravity it's mechanical resistance from stretching
youd have to find a decent resistance band routine, but theyre pretty common as an accessory to bodyweight/calisthenics stuff
im sure there are some good routines out there
there will be bodyweight routines for stuff like that
also my doctor doesnt want me to do squats for medical reasons
scoliosis
oh that makes some sense
ye thats probably why your parents dont want you lifting weights lol
though it seems rather uninformed
sure, but you dont just levitate on thin air
your spine is literally the core of every movement
unless ur doing fucking finger curls or something
no but how would a benchpress affect scoliosis
told u im stupid
but you still have a lot of stabilisation
so how tf am i supposed to be fit then
honestly id probably convince your parents to spend money on a proper personal trainer who can guide you through the limitations scoliosis might apply to you
im certianly no PT so idk what your limitations/requirements are
okay ill try that thanks
generally with most injuries, disabilities, disorders etc,
proper training improves outcomes
yep ill keep that in mind
idk how scoliosis really works but i find it hard to believe that everything would make it worse
i think 8ts more for when your still growing
i'd imagine you might end up being biased towards a lot of pulling exercise
rather than loading the spine compressively
but again, im no pt and im certainly not educated about scoliosis
if you can find someone who is, or even a good resource then you might get some better perspective
yea theres probably a discord or smt for it
absolutely better than smoking
my gf has one and really likes it
also u can eat the weed after lol
well technically i should probably not say absolutely
some googoo gaga scientist is gonna tell me there isnt enough research or something
and they wouldnt be wrong ig
but the carcinogens from burning shit is pretty established
Ohh shit u can eat it wtf
Need someway to smoke on house without getting smelled 😄
Heard dynavap makes like no smell
hi, i just saw ron rambo's video.
In the video, his palm is touching the mousepad, that makes me think about my palm placement as well
I dont have my left side palm on the table/pad but my right palm + wrist does
should i rest all of my palm on the table/pad? Or keep my posture
thankyou
Is anyone here taking any Nootropics dailiy for like brain functions?
I am reposting this here since I was recommended:
I had contacted my doctor a couple of days ago since I originally thought I might have carpal tunnel. The doctor told me to use a Carpal Tunnel glove for a full month before allowing me to get a check up on it.
Is there a good guide/video about exercises to do to help with tensing and wrist? When I search it up I get those cheap and not so useful tips and articles.
Would you guys recommend I go on slower sens than 24cm? I am very inconsistent with my aim and I feel my tensing and general aim is very inconsistent. Also if I do go with a bit of a slower sens like 32cm, am I still able to mainly Wrist aim without having to move my arm much?
Games I play are Overwatch, Apex Legends, COD Cold War, Halo, Titanfall 2 and Battlefront 2
It depends on your mouse and how your hand fits it. We generally want support under as much of your forearm as possible. Either through the table or an armrest from your chair
Nootropics are very hit and miss in the literature. If you want to boost your brain function I would focus on getting enough quality sleep first. 8-10 if you are 14-18 then 7+ for 18-60
Yes, I'm trying to do this. It is something I know I can improve.
I did quit all caffeine tho, not sure if thats smart or not. Currently 8 days off it
Here is a great routine to start with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoedUZ4OpPY&t=422s&pp=sAQA
Aim and DPI is very personal and our general rule is the lower your DPI the more imortant it becomes to use your arm to aim not just your wrist
Wrist pain is by far the MOST common complaint I get when I work with pros and gamers. And the first thing they often encounter online are resources telling them to rest, brace, just do stretches! Sorry that’s not going to help in the LONG run. These are just methods for short-term relief. I’m Dr. Hwu and i’m the esports injury doctor and over t...
Quitting caffeine is not completely necessary but avoiding it at least 4-5 hours pre bed time is a good call
I used to get my evening caffeine only in forms of Coca cola, but I drank a big amount, so that's probably why I had some issues.
The caffeine plus sugar hit is a lot. Good for you making some healthy choices! It's hard to change habits and you should be proud of your progress
I was off it before and felt that I benefitted from that. But I don't know, I'm only 8 days in now, so hard to tell yet, I'm still struggeling a bit from being tired and having headaches, but I guess that will pass, it's already starting to become a lot better, especially the headaches, I'm still tired, but that's in big part to me not being good with my sleep yet. Will do better in that era too.
I will check it out, thank you very much!
Aim and DPI is very personal and our general rule is the lower your DPI the more imortant it becomes to use your arm to aim not just your wrist
Since I am starting to feel pain in my forearm which might be Carpal Tunnel, would it be best to lower my sens to something like 32cm to force myself to use arm more?
@ripe valve just wanna confirm top of monitor should be at or slightly below eye level for best neck/back posture
I would more be concerned with how you hold you mouse before we modify DPI. Send me a picture of you holding your mouse and I can tell you if we need to make changes
You are absolutely correct. Top of monitor should be at eye level. This assumes you have a neutral posture when you set this however!
It depends on how much caffeine was affecting your life but prioritizing sleep first is a good start!
I can probably be able to get that done tomorrow morning, will ping you when I get it done, thank you for the advice!
Like 100 Caffeine and 200mg L-Theanine in the morning is a good combo for work or just gaming.
I don't know, gonna focus on sleep, eating healthy and workouts first.
You're welcome!
We always recommend supplements be supplemental. If you feel like you need some caffeine to get going that isn't crazy but it should be an option not a need. Focusing on sleep, nutrition and workouts are the better play!
anyone have any reccomendations for chairs? I really dont like my current chair because of the wings on the side that mess with my aim, so preferrably one without the wings on the side.
im also looking a for a new chair thats not expensive, what should i look for my main goal is comfort
I have an adjustable desk and want to put it to good use, is there anyway i can calculate desk height for me? What do most people have it set too
Also what is a good way to cure anxiety in a comp game of overwatch to clear the mind and actively think about the many decisions of the game? Music?
I want to grind kovaak in the morning, but my brain feels slow and sleepy
it's been 2 hours since I woke up, what do I do
my right ring and pinky fingers have felt slightly numb since i've woken up
anything to worry about?
has carpal tunnel finally gotten me
when i drink caffeine my aim get so good is this normal?
My routine is like i wake up chill for like an 1h than i go to the gym shower and than the kovaaks grind beginns
Dear community, I've been doing my best in grinding benchmarks, and I finally got Jade. But what I'm currently worried about is that now I can't just find a motivational source that would make me feel charged for everyday grinding. I was feeling really motivated to grind the benchmarks at the spring and was doing them everyday, but at the current summer (especially last month) I can't keep it up. During the last month I struggle too much before I start playing Kovaaks at a day and my current in-game performance is significantly worse then what I had 2-3 months ago. I try to eat healthy food, keep my sleep enough, use to drink a lot of water. How can I reset my mental for everyday trainings and for being motivated? If I take a break, how long it should be not to lose my skills? I'll be glad for any recommendation from you guys, thank you in advance.

How we position the aiming arm directly influences our ability to control the mouse and aim the crosshair. In this video, I talk about the vertical height of the aiming arm and how it's influenced by a desk and chair.

how long does it take to build up your coordination after training?
Honestly don't know. For the last time I always feel not coordinated
it's the summer mood, the same happens to me i just feel like hot weather fucks with me hard and make me not motivated to do anything
any tips for wrist pain? when i move my right hand in a circular motion i can hear and feel a bone or something move around i don’t know if should get an x-ray. or not
Caffeine helps you focus so not unusual. You also might have had a good aiming session and anchored that feeling to caffeine. You don't need caffeine to aim well but it does help
kk thanks

A lot of people say that we need to sleep 8 hr
But i want to sleep 7 hr
Is 1 hr gap is effect health much?
7-9h is normal, how much you need varies from person to person @clever onyx
if your body struggles to sleep more than 7 hours, you're not going to get much from forcing it
provided you dont have other health/dietary issues causing a lack of sleep
anyone have an infographic or know a good angle tilt for monitor
i know its supposed to be slightly up but too much and the top corners are too dark for me
skin on my fingertips peeling (or felling of, idk how to translate that tbh)). i did a little bit of research and i would like to have a normal source of information about that if you have one
Take a break. You said your in-game performance has taken a hit, so play games instead of kovaaks. Remember you're just training mouse control
If your break is long then your muscle memory should kick in which should set you right on track
What are symptoms of RSI i should be looking out for?
aching, tingling, numbness, stiffness
What should i bo doing beyond streches before every session? Kinda looks like it's been ineffective
honestly might just need to take some time off and/or take a look at your posture or mouse grip and see if there's anything you can change that'd make you more comfortable
@fossil bison You could also try to reduce the amount of aim training uou do. You could do like 15-30 minutes a day to make yourself feel good like you actually did soemthing, but it’s been proven that you don’t start to lose you “skill” until over about 1.5 weeks of not doing anything. I went on vacation last week, came back, and hit a high score in one of my sessions. If you feel burnt out taking the break might actually be better for you. When you over work yourself when lifting weights, your body gets negative effects.
forcing yourself to do it is good to maintain motivation over time, but that being said if i tell myself like i’m going to take a month from lifting, i find myself more motivated after my break then every, and go 3-4 months everyday
thank you all
what is a good chair that is not that expensive
What stretches should i be doing after a long session of gaming, like the top of my wrist begins to hurt when I exert it afterwards
Guys, I read the wrist stretch guide in # resources. I was wondering if there was video showing how to do these stretches. I don’t wanna risk doing it incorrectly and hurting myself. Can someone help me? Thank you.
this is sort of off topic but my vertebrae sorta looks like its coming out of the back of my head. it looks scary in the mirror. if you know of this dm me i can send a picture
actually i dont know if offtopic but whatever
think its something to do with posture
if i were you i wouldve checked is you head in place or it is too much kicked out from where it should be
i do have slight scoliosis aswell. alot of ice hockey/former ice hockey players have it
u can send me a pic i can check if u want
alright sure. im hopping in the shower ill send it in like 5min or so
sure
Would recommend visiting a doctor, that's not normal.
i have a problem eating schedeueld like sometimes i eat dinner at 4am somtimes 7pm any help?
like this i sometimes have 0 energy throughout the day
Very occasionally when I play I start to feel pain in this specific area in my wrist. The pain appears and disappears repeatedly. Is this anything to be concerned about?
ok. thanks for responding
yes its something to be concerned about, do you deviate your wrist like this often when you aim
Not that extreme
Not as extreme as this
well its not easy to realize you are overbending anyway when you flick or something
start pivoting from your elbow and aim less with your wrist
I mainly use my arm, I’m never at a point where I only use my wrist
do you condition your wrists at all? exercises or stretches
uhhh
plenty of info in resources and pins
I don’t do stretches :((
I usually start doing stretches when my wrist starts to hurt a bit
I guess I should do them beforehand

Thank you for the advice
yeah your gaming career probably wont last as long as you would like if you only start conditioning when it hurts
unless you are lucky
harsh truth

Hi guy’s did any one know a good budget chair?
I don't know any specific models, but in terms of finding a chair, don't go for a gaming one
@soft temple I have the same issue
Try not to tense hard
Stretch as much as you can
Take breaks
my wrist sometimes randomly cramps whenever i play static scenarios
so like my initial flick will stop midway and becomes really slow
could this be an indication that something's wrong with my wrist
Ayo, can someone who’s pleased with their chair or just knows shit let me know a brand
i really dgaf anymore, every one i check has terrible reviews.
Seems 90% are cheap shit from china reshippers.
I spent easily 8hrs a day in chair, so need good quality and something comfy thx
Herman Miller Sayl.. hands down best chair I've ever sat on
I've used generic chinese gaming chair from amazon, Secret Lab Omega, Herman Miller Emobdy.. but Sayl is the best
if you spend that many hours per day sitting on a chair, invest and get a $700 chair. Your body will thank you as you get older
Is it normal that two days ago while playin aimlabs, under my wrist I'd feel a tingling sensation and both the hand and mouse got lighter?
I'm 21 with a 47bpm heart rate when I had my vitals checked earlier. Is this something to worry about since the normal range is 60-100 and the nurse that checked it did multiple tests since it seemed off to her?
do you feel weekness, fatigue, dizziness or soemthing
no I don't
i wouldnt be worried if u feel normal and fine
Do you work out or have good cardio?
I do alot of walking and my job has me moving on my feet alot but not any serious workouts
Walking will help with your heart, I think you just walk a lot and have good genetics
This is coming from someone with zero medical experience so don't take what I say as gospel
what do you guys do when you can't sleep?
lift weights, read, write down ideas an thoughts so u can properly compartmentalise and process thoughts that might keep u up
lowkey kovaaks making my forearms jacked 👲
Does anyone know why when im aiming i shake like crazy
@lone heart shaking as in your mouse hand….? I would play smoothness scenarios and just focus on keeping your mouse hand relaxed and from tensing up.
Nervous? Also sometimes caffeine/other stimulants can cause things similar to that
@lone heart Hey bud, I have shaky hands for a lot of reasons. My meds make my finger tips numb, and my hands shake, and muscle weakness as well. I also get random nerve twitches and cant take a lot of potassium. I WAS a massage therapist Its all about relaxing your shoulder to your finger tips, and building strength in your smaller, less used muscles. A lot of the muscles used are actually in your forearm as well. So imagine relaxing those instead of your hand specifically.
@lone heart also you would have to explain more, in intense situations you get what i like to call the “pvp jitters” where you start shaking because maybe uou are trying to clutch. You get rid of that by just time and becoming comfortable
I think I'm in the same situation :( my hand shakes when I do routines with my wrist (smooth)
I think I fucked up my ankle while skating. I can still walk on it how fucked am I and should I tell my mom
you should
Should I go to a doctor or might it heal on its own
if u cant move or stand go to doctor and put cold things on it
Naw I can walk on it fine im just wondering Haven't been hurt in a while
than its ok
if you have full mobility without sharp pains or anything chances are its alright
go to doc if it gets worse or starts to hurt bad
@glacial karma my aim gets shakey whenever i track to the right
bro my eyes flicker what to do
also my aim is only smooth when its in one area, but if i move away from that area its very chopps
Oh okay i see so like you will track right with your wrist and uou start to jitter basically
i do the same thing and just playing for like 2 weeks i’m noticing it improving
whenever i specifically track going right with my wrist i do thag
@lone heart
will an i7 9700k bottleneck a 3080ti?
how do you think?
@toxic saddle
anyone know anything about abdominal hernias? ive been lifting pretty big the past week and last couple days ive had a pretty specific pain in my lower right abs
there isnt any bulge or protrusion or whatever so im not really sure if it even classifies
it gets better on off days but comes back on lift days and idk if a hernia would do that
anecdotally I have had pain in that lower ab spot that was related to a groin strain injury
if you think it may be a hernia I'd say better safe than sorry and go get checked out
Any upper back pain relief methods? I’m grinding something where I’m sitting down for 16 hours shifts every day and my upper back is kinda fried
I stand up in between games and stuff and walk around but by the end of the day I’m still in pain
😦
try doing hangs from a bar
also make sure your not starting to develop a hunchback
i get an afterimage of the target (ex. http://brainden.com/afterimages.htm) during tracking exercises that makes it distracting to focus on the target and the crosshair without losing track. am i doing something wrong with my focus or do i have an eye problem?
probably just monitor ghosting
it only happens during kovaaks exercises where i need to stare at the target for 30+ seconds
Ty bro
yup
move your finger like 15 inches away from your face
and stare at it
if you can see 2 fingers
you might have double vision
which can be fixed by physical therapy
i mean i can unfocus to see 2 fingers but when ijust look at it its just 1
the afterimage is more like a negative afterimage
so the red target will have a dark green "aura"
kinda like if you look directly at a yellow light and it leaves behind a purple spot in your vision
some days my arm is shaky after 15~ mins after practice, should i take breaks and come back later when its not?
I see a yellow cloud lookin thing and its about an inch long
wherever i look on my screen
n1
is it normal when you squeeze your fist, your hand shakes
pain in wrist when using viper mini should i get a bigger mouse?
depends on how large your hands are
is there any tips or tricks anyone uses to stay calm in games, when i get any bit of anxiety i start to shake so much but when im relaxed my aim is crisp and smooth, been using acceleration which has helped a bit. i have trouble when team mates are shoutcalling it gets me nervouse
For a quick fix - during downtime you can use breathing techniques, for example: take 3 seconds to breath in through nose, then hold that breath for 3 seconds, then take 3 seconds to exhale, 3 second pause and repeat.
For a longer term fix - Simply play more and hope that by exposing yourself to stressful situations in-game, you will get more used to it over time. Also as you improve, you will become more confident too which helps keep you relaxed.
ik it's cliche but just don't care about the game you're playing. If you devalue the game you're playing, you're less likely to get anxious or choke
or how i like to think about it, just rage so much you become dead inside and stop caring, and you then start relaxing
lmao thank you guys, i will give this a go
does anyone know the best way to reset a sleep schedule if my body clock is very bad? currently sleeping at like 3am and waking up around 10/11
how many hrs / day is recommended
is there an ideal monitor, mousepad, mouse keyboard set up for shoulder/elbow/arm to avoid pain in the future? i.e. should the monitor be more in the middle of your body or more towards middle of the mouse/keyboard?
top of monitor should be eye level and preferably centered so you're not turning your neck, desk should be low enough so your elbows have a 90 degree angle when using the mouse and keyboard and keep your wrist straight when using the keyboard (get a wrist rest also)
thats what i thought, some people have some weird set ups lol
and always immediately stop playing when you feel any sort of discomfort, try and get up and walk around once an hour
If you're talking about sleep minimum of 7 hours and optimally at least 8
I have a common cold for a few days now and I woke up and my ears are blocked. I have tried doing everything I saw on the internet but it just seems blocked. It hurts constantly, like something is inside and pushing the insides of my ear and it doesnt stop, it's too annoying. Do you guys know of anything I can do to help ease the pain or atleast help me hear stuff?
I cant play games since I cant hear properly it's annoying
Sounds like glue ear
Idk what to do abt it tho sorry
I just know I used to get it a lot as a kid
fml dude i cant hear footsteps properly ingame
You should get it checked, it could be an ear infection
Could also be because of your cold blocking the connection of your nose and ears
yeah definitely fluid in the inner ear/eustachian tubes
wait no middle ear
well fuck it says it could last up to 3 months after a cold
definitely go see a doctor tho
Flonase is used for this, i have the same issue where my ears get clogged every cold i have, and flonase helps it
but you could also get steroids from doctors to help aswell
should i sit as straight as i can on my chair or let my lower back relax
dont try and maintain back straightness
just find any position you can sit in relaxed without being sore, and get up and be mobile rather than sitting at ur desk in a single position the whole day
Would you consider nerd shoulder the result of apeing
what the fuck does that mean
from a quick google I think they mean nerd neck
Wdym" by apeing"

When flicking. But I think it's because I tense my shoulder too hard, esp with ts and static
Yeah try and relax
You can get just as good scores or better without tensing
And no to your question. Just don't hunch
not sure if this is even the correct channel for it but here we go. so lately, i mean not really lately, it's been like atleast 6 months that i've gone with the messed up sleep schedule. it's basically inverted, as if i'm a nocturnal animal or something. wake up at 7pm and then sleep at 10am. so i wanna know how to fix the messed up schedule. the only way that i can think of rn is to not sleep a day and once it hit night time, then that's the time i go to sleep. will that work or there's a better way to do so?
^^^
wanted to add something more, everytime i wake up. my eyes are always wet, idk if its either wet or red eyes but yeah
wet as in like, there's tears coming from my eyes
Found out I have arthritis the other day, anyone else in a similar position and still able to keep good aim?
@rustic spear I've heard on Reddit that someone with lots of hand issues has good tracking scores
I think they like top 100 on some popular scenarios
This was a post I saw over a year ago
Sorry to hear that! I have early arthritis in my hands and a mountain of other problems, all I can say is I have to focus on quality playtime over quantity to maintain consistency. Often I watch streams instead of playing with friends if it means I can put quality time in with them on a weekend, every time I’ve over trained or gamed, I regret it because being in pain and not playing games is way worse than just not playing games. 15 min of 100% focused kovaaks each day will probably beat 40 min of half-assed kovaaks. If you have a good doctor, then explaining to them that your hobbies are important to you could result in better long-term advice. Good luck!
good luck, be healthy and drink water
Yeah I've definitely been playing less kovaaks since the pain started so I don't overdo it for actually playing games, do you you prefer a higher or lower sens or did you change it up at all when you got arthritis? I've been messing around with lowering my sens cause I think it might be better for it, if I go too high it can be pretty sore.
Starting a while back I noticed that it's harder for me to actually focus on what I'm looking at in games. What I mean is like i'm staring at what I'm shooting at then all the sudden it's just really hard to focus on it. Like my eyes want to zone out and i can't get them to focus in. Like i'm just staring at a screen/wall instead of moving objects. Any help or advice?
Like it feels like randomly I get bad eyesight but if I look at anything other than my screen my sight goes back to normal and I have good vision and can focus
aanyone else tilt their head sligtly when focused, or am i retarded?
Where do I want my eye level to be w my monitor?
Middle
pretty sure when you look straight, you should see above your monitor. someone correct me if im wrong
Yes but for gaming I'd say no
my monitor isn't on an angle
The advice that looking at the top is for general use
In games you'll be focused in the middle more often
rn my eye level is about at 1/4 of the monitor from top
It's not on an angle
and I feel it sometimes makes me lean more forward
I'll try add more books B)
What brace is good for wrist/ forearm pain on the rigtht side of my right arm, please reply and ping me
