I acually felt bad not showering for 2 days straight but Im at home so it's technically "okay"
guess there are ppl worse than me

During lockdown I sometimes skipped a day like in March
But other then that
Idk why u wouldn’t shower every day
I didn't cause I was busy with work
otherwise all day every day
sometimes twice if I'm sweating doing smt
It's not good for your skin and unless you're pumping iron every single day, you shouldn't be a stinker.
You can maintain solid hygiene by refreshing yourself periodically without needing to dunk every day.
I feel gross if I don't tbh
If I feel I must, it'll be a cold shower. My skin dries easily and I have sensitivity issues after a hot shower sometimes, often when I take them too close together. I'll be skin irritable for a few hours.
Well if u play sports it’s not an option
Yeah, if you're going ham, you best better take one.
does using your phone/your pc in a dark room actually damage your vision?
might be a stupid question but is it fine to take a day off a routine weekly to not risk hurting my hand
of course its actually advised since you give yourself time to rest
alright thanks for the response ill incorporate that into what i usually do then
is it normal for arm to feel fatigued after air or thin gautlent or grounplaza
and then have to take a 5 min break
@violet swan not unsual, but tgv2 should be a chill scene, so maybe check if your hand is tensing
not realy thin gaunt tbh
but my arm is super tired after air
☹ ye, I hate reactive
i play 30 cm btw
so not low
Hi, before KovaaK I am high sens player and only use my wrist to control mouse. Now I am play with low sens couple of months and I can't play so much because my wrist and forearm have pain. Yesterday I start exercise with dumbell but I feel like it's not 100% good for me because advice in youtube like "begginer for fitness or wrist wrestling" or something. Any exercise advice have here?
I'm 17 and have 78 BPM heart rate, is this normal? Before the pandemic I trained 3 times a day at soccer
yes
Normal resting heart rate is anything between 60-100bpm and can be slightly lower if you’re an athlete
This is probably a stupid question but does having stronger arms help when aiming
yeah but dont matter much
it helps with stamina
But i don't think it helps improvement rate/skill
Surely it would help with speed
Easier to move the mouse
Or not 😆
it would
but most top aimers use a light mouse
and on a sens around 30cm where speed isn't that hard
@dusty ether You need to rest before you work out. Take 2-3 days away from the computer until the pain stops. Then go see a physio
If i am thirsty should i get water

your heart rate depends on what u do
but 78 BPM is pretty fine
how long should i rest my wrists for them to fully heal from RSI
probably a couple weeks tbh
Hi what do you guys do with your keyboard hand while aim-training? I normally don't think about it and then unintenionally let is sit in the same position for ~1 hour without moving when training. Currently I have pain in the wrist, pinky and thumb probably by doing this, do you guys have suggestions on how I could change this?
ur not moving it y does it still hurt lol
if im getting some shoulder pain from training are there any good stretches or anything i should b doing for shoulder
Pain on the inside/back of elbow start of rsi?
Won't hurt then will be p painful in spurts
Kinda where the ulnar nerve flosses through the elbow but more on the tricep this isint while gaming just off work and ik its related.
u should strengthen ur shoulder, not stretch it
stretching the shoulders is pretty bad acc
ye u most likely have rounded shoulders and that's bc your back cannot pull your shoulders backwards since u lack strength in your back muscles
ok
anyway, if the pain persists u should probably rotate your arms and stuff like that b4 doing your routine
bc that will activate the shoulders more
and direct more blood flow to that area
also, if u can, buy a resistance band not to strong and search shoulder exercises and back exercises with a resistance band
that will help u
👍 thx
whenever i play kovaaks after about 10 minutes my right arm starts to tense up to the point where it's painful and my lower back cramps up as well and im not sure why..
@violet swan try warming up
and I meant actual warm up your hand
like move your hand around and stuff
like this stuff @violet swan https://themeta.com/blog/2020/4/1/4tv3toxmkfdychwhbyfq7sztqmdl96 ?

yeah, sure
Any tips on fixing my sleep schedule
I have a question if someone can answer me honestly 🙂 I play Apex Legends and I'm very often stressed out and I've noticed that it has had a huge impact on my aiming skills ... more specifically hand-to-hand. What are the solutions you have proposed to learn to live with stress or other issues?
@violet swan just play more, force yourself to drop in contested areas just to get used to close combat and stressful situations
remember to breath/deep breaths it's hella important
I'm french as well so you can ask me other questoins in dms if you ever feel like it
Okay, I understand better. I used to play a lot at Apex before and I didn't have this problem. I took a break for a few months and it came back. Very good thanks 🙂
yeah the more you play the more relaxed you will be
If your not relaxed take a 5 minute break? 🙂 fair to say?
@worthy cloud From memory you're a qualified practitioner in your country right? Would it be okay to cross check my physios advice with your opinion? Obviously you're not liable, just an extra eye over it
I'm suffering a fair bit, and start a new job soon
you're probably thinking of pleb_ascended
Okok thank you guys
It is absolutely necessary to touch the floor with your feet while playing? Or is it just for comfort?
@muted fiber probably pleb_ascended
holding your middle finger off of right click?
maybe
This is exactly the reason I keep complaining about the misinformation about kovaaks/voltaic and it's associated risks, especially a channel like this. Instead of seeing doctors, people will seek misleading replies in this health channel - no personal offense to anyone
@violet swan I have this exact issue as well (among many with my wrists/forearms from overuse). In my instance, it's actually referred pain from my forearns which stems from the tendons. This is primarily golfers and tennis elbow
To add - that's the first sign I ever had. I ignored it and much later many other symptoms continue, and now I can't use a mouse longer than 30 minutes before my tendons make me wanna jump into an ice bucket.
Take care dude
Is there any recommendation for a good supplement?
broooo insane
that is actually pog
it depends on what u want the supplements for
🦦
I dont get how people dont realise they should stop when they feel pain
[Video game] addiction is a crazy thing.
@muted fiber got any additional tips on how to prevent injury? Dynamic stretches? What did you do to make yours become so severe
ngl thought this was a guy squatting down with reversed feet for a sec
lmao what
ok wait u have ur feet off the wall right?
yeah
damn
can watch the shadow
do u only do calisthenics?
nah i weight train too
devin is cute
oh i see
@violet swan apparently forearm weights and strengthening helps heaps. Mine was caused by kovaaks
Just finally took a walk today after staying at home all day for a week
My whole neck and back feels really pain when i try to stand up straight
Anyone know how u can fix this? Mostly my upper back and muscles at my neck
you think it's from just sitting around for a week?
you could try some slow stretches
I tried doing the stretches at the pin tab but my shoulder blade started hurting a lot
is it like a cramping or a soreness?
you could try some of these
My upper back and neck just feels tight, as if i have never work out on those areas
Alright, thank you so much. Ill give it a try
probably just need some gentle stretching and rest
as long as it's not getting worse
How do u fix upper arm soreness or pain tho
upper arm as in triceps and biceps?
for the past 2 days my upper arm felt really sore
Usually i have to take an hour break to just get it back to be relaxed
Yup
are you getting enough water?
you should probably get a bit more than that
What would be be better? Hot or cold water
Ive been drinking cold water a lot lately cause i thought it could help make my arm recover faster. Not sure if it could be the cause
I drink around 4-5L a day
I drink like 4L water a day is that too much?
If you drink when you are thirsty probably not
2L is like minimum, more doesn't necessarily equal better though. Drinking too much water stresses your kidneys, and flushes out important salts and electrolytes etc from your body. I would say 4L is plenty, most people don't even reach 2L (of pure water, not including water ingested by other means of food drinks etc)
@flat citrus Cold water isn't the best for you, it affects your immune system, and many other negative health affects. Warm or lukewarm is ideal, but we are human so fair enough whatever is more tasty lol
Also @flat citrus I highly recommend a sit/stand desk. Go up and down every 30-60 mins. I never get back/neck issues like this
is aimtraining considered more skill or muscle training? how much is too much training? like i'm doing weight training 5x times a week but with kovaak's, i'm training every day and i'm not sure if that's too much or not?
@broken cave skill training, depends on your goal, but generally one hour is enough, more than that is not necessary, train everyday with a break every other day
Ok, thanks!
Whenever I start trying in a game, I start to crane my neck forward and it ruins my posture. It also makes the muslces in the back of my neck very tense
maybe get better back support, so you won't feel uncomfortable leaning back
or could be eye sight problem
Could be, I've considered moving my monitor forward as I sit pretty far back from it. I sit around 20-22 inches away from it and its a 24 inch
i think i have tendonitis or something in my wrist
i took a week break and it went away but now after a few days of gaming it came back
for how long should i rest my wrist for it to heal properly?
@hybrid rain Welcome to a problem that never goes. Stop playing till the pain goes away, then start doing lots of forearm workouts. Don't do both or you'll just make it worse
I recommend therapy putty.
It comes with x-soft to firm. VIVE includes a small picture guide for exercises. What I do is start with x-soft and work my way to firm in a session. I strongly advise a two-day break afterward to let your hand muscles heal and don't overdo it.
any guideline for buying a chair?
i know that there are several "gaming chair" in the market that looks like it can support my back or office chair that looks the same but i just wanted to make sure it'll works
thanks..
the best way would be to find an office supply store that lets you try them out
but for online I'd just stay away from any gamer marketing chairs
Would GTRacing and DXRacer be examples of ones to stay away from? I know some higher end gaming chairs are much better health-wise and comfort-wise, but some cheaper ones i’m not too sure about, especially since they’re plastered in so many YT vids.
Yeah
I bought a fifty buck Furmax mesh office chair on Amazon and it's more comfy and supportive than any racer chair I've sat in.

are you trying to lose weight?
I can helpo
Please don't starve ur self
But go on a caloric deficit
Much more healthier
deficit is up to 300-500 calories less than ur maintrainance calories
DM me if u need more help
@signal saddle
Make sure you get an electrolyte 0 cal supplement that contains magnesium and potassium
That's all you really need
But I would not recommend such a long fast, especially if you haven't done it before
First try not eating for just one day, then 2 etc
Also after an extended fast you have to be careful with how you refeed or you can mess yourself up
The longest fast I've done is 3 days and that's probably the longest I would ever go. Maaaaybe 5 one day but doubtful
Past 3 days is when your body will start to break down muscle
And it depends how much fat you have. If you have a lot it'll be easier
is it possible to play fingertip and not plant my wrist? Bc ive always played fingertip with a planted wrist, until i started getting bad pains. So i took a 2 month break and as soon as I started playing again the pains started. So I switched to palm so I can have my wrist off the pad and its stopped me from getting any pains. I would stay with palm but not being able to use my fingers for micro-adjustments is horrible.
Anyone have any good tips to sleep fast? Ive been yawning for the past 2 hours and have been unable to sleep. Trying to listen to some asmr but still not yet sleeping(its 11.30pm rn)
take some sleep pills
if you cant sleep just sleep
yeah you guys are right it’s probably not the best idea but it’s something I’ve done before about 4 years ago and had great results and kept it off. Since March though bc quarantine I put on some weight really slowly and just want to get it off and be done with it. And ty I’ll make sure to get that 🙂
What can i do to feel more energised? I sleep 8 and a half hours, take cold showers, workout. But lately i don't really have energy and feel really tired
will prolly just go away over time
do you use an alarm?
not an alarm but my parents wake me
try waking up naturally and not let someone wake you up or smth
i am not "allowed" to sleep longer than 10am so i will try to go to bed earlier and then wake up naturally i guess
ye just try it and see how you feel
Is it weird that I wake up like 10 mins before my alarm like every day
To turn off my alarm
And go back to sleep
I go back to sleep even with alarm
@signal saddle please don’t do this
Inting your life force away should at the very least be talked about with a doctor, not people in a kovaaks discord
I am tryna refast my ramadan
Since i should
But its really annoying
And i get really bad if i dont eat
Should i do it ?
Fasting can be healthy. BUT if you are under 18 DO NOT DO IT
Many cultures for thousanda of years have fasted, and continue to do so and there is growing evidence of its benefits
You just have to do it smart, and never under 18 because body and brain is still growing and you could stunt it
why does it say not to drink coffee with milk in the "Health improvement routines" google doc?
Coffee with milk has significantly more calories but idk if that's why
i drink like 5 cups of coffee with milk a day
What
Heartattack by 30
tbf if you didn't have milk with it, it would probs be quite cheap
I have a lot of finger pain when clawing the mouse
What should I do?
I hold it very lightly.
Maybe relaxed claw at this point?
My grip strength is strong.
It’s the pain in my fingers from being scrunched up it feels like.
The tension.
hello everyone, i have a question. ive been doing aim training for the past month and i always feel that my upper arm is fatigued or weak afterwards, and it carries over unless i stop for a few days. i was thinking about cutting my hour routine into a 30 minute one instead, will i still improve at that pace?
slower but ye
how about 2 30min sessions throughout the day
1 morning 1 night for example
@violet swan i could try that before dropping it to 30 daily. I don't mind the grind at all, i'd love to do 2 hours a day if i could but my body just isn't permitting lol
5 cups isnt even that bad
🤨
Idk it helps me mentally cope w stuff idk if that's weird but when I got stuff on my mind and I need to think about it but I'm falling asleep I make a coffee and then I'm good to go
stop drinking it for a week then u will only need 1 each day
That makes no sense
It does
its tolerance
I didnt have 5 today I had 3
now tomorrow have 2
then day after have 1 and keep that going
I cant have 1
why not
Because I need 1 to wake up
Bro....
And then 1 before I go to sleep
You know general advice is to not have caffeine past midday since it makes sleep harder
ye
So if you are having coffee that much
i never have a coffee after 1pm
i dont need it for anything i just drink it for a fun game session
1 to wake up is fair but when u have school and u get home tired af surely it would be okay to have one then
what time do you sleep
best thing to do is to intentionally sleep after 12 am so you get more rem sleep than non rem
ez improvement bonus
what time would you get up then? 6?
ok
depending on time to sleep
What happens when your brain doesnt want you to sleep
That's what I did last night
And looks like its gonna happen again
dont try to fall asleep if you’ve been laying there for 1+ hour
instead just read for a solid 30 minutes and then try sleeping again
can try warm milk or other stuff
I'm listening to music atm
if you read on device use night mode
Ofc
Omg imagine discord light mode on max brightness on phone in a pitch black room
Owch
🗿
So take a 30m break and then try sleep again?
yeah
Alright thanks
Guys are we all ready to have a healthy 2021 and beat some records? 😊
Both with the mouse and without.
i feel like 2021 is gonna be just as bad
doesn't have to be
does someone know a workout routine for new people? I have been at home with almost no movement since september
how long should a caffeine tolerance break be?
studies show that even a week of cold turkey will bring back most of the affects of caffeine
I've been off most of caffeine since Christmas eve, and only drinking 1 cup of green tea in the morning
been pretty good so far
is it normal to be fine without caffeine
ye
is it normal to not snort coke everyday
yea
👍
how do you go about breaking out of the habit of gripping your mouse too hard when doing training?
How often should you take a caffeine tolerance break
whenever u start noticing u need more coffee for the same effect as before
i don't drink coffee for like a week and then when i have a cup it doesn't have any effect
not going to lie
only thing it does is basically preventing me from sleeping
what effect do u expect it to have btw
its a very light stimulant
mainly talking about aim wise
like it will help me focus and react better
haven't noticed
how can i "get over" missing shots on kovaaks? everytime i miss i have a very negative reaction to it and it affects my mental and discourages me from continuing my practise.
it's the topic of this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAK4z8VWIE8
i would personally recommend daily meditation as a remedy

ill check it out, thanks
lmaoo it's so clickbait but it's probably the most important video he's ever made
Meant more the fact it looks like it took a minute
should i use a sens if my hand are very shaky and tense up a lot
not really, high chances covid will become the new flu, new vaccines every year for mutations, unless something else happens
idk where your from but
in the uk new form of covid has spread which is 70% more infectious (if thats a word)
hence why im back in tier 4 lockdown and not allowed to meet anyone or do anything
the vaccine still should work\
because its technically not out yet and the new form shouldn't be immune
it does work
but still means its gonna take wayyy longer to get rid of virus cus more ppl gonna have it
i remember my mom telling there was a similar thing with the flu back in 2000's and everybody was scared shitless
im not scared of the virus
i already had it im chilling
its the quarantine though i just cba anymore
so i think 2021 is gonna be fine
2021 is not gonna be like "whoa the virus magically dissapeared," but more like "ah ok we are getting vaccines thats cool"
yeah
it's probably not gonna be gone
its prob gonna be like the flu, a new vaccine every year
ye
My wrist have been cracking and hurting for the last 3 motnhs now,i tried icing it for a few weeks to no avail,it usually only hurts for like the first 3 hours after i wakeup,do i need to go to the doctor?
if it's been hurting for 3 months u should've already went
bro more than a day you should be a bit concerned
3 months means you should have gone to the doctor 2 months ago
my wrist cracks when i roll it but it's been like that as long as i remember
no pain tho, is it bad?
pretty sure that's normal
@violet swan cracking is normal is most cases, its mostly nitrogen bubbles or whatever popping
not sure about the bubble part tho
Yea i guess
Guys my wrist fell off four months ago and aiming is hard now.
Does old injury cause pain?
It depends what kind of injury but It can if you aggravate it the same way as before. You can cause symptoms again.
Like if you’ve recovered from rsi for example and continue your same bad habits you’ll eventually injure yourself again
its good to drink a cup of coffe when i just get up?
Nah it’s better to snort some gfuel
tnks
No problem
im trying to grip my mouse while having my wrist off the mousepad, would that, in any way, cause injury?
so my hand is on the mouse, wrist off the mousepad, then arm on the table\
how do i get rid of elbow pain due to playing for long hours ?
or any tips to avoid it ?
Someone should just pin Levi Harrison's channel here lmao.

depends on injury severity
i broke an elbow and my wrist
i still play sports
Anyone own a herman miller
Or tried a few of them?
Kinda wanna replace my chair and idk if I should go w embody or aeron
I have a aeron @eternal dock
Worth?
Definitely, I bought mine used so it was far cheaper than full price and it still feels like it did a year ago
Much better than anything else I've ever used
Any reccomendations for buying used
Craigslist has no offers so
Id have to go amazon
I just went on craigslist and found a guy who did minor refurbs on them and resold a lot so no clue about amazon
There might be some other online stores that are office focused that have them though, not sure
Thanks
I wanted an Herman Miller, but didn't find good used one in Norway.
Went for Noblechair Hero for now
Very happy so far.
It's a bit stiff, but good for my posture and the stiffness gets better and better every day.
why doesnt caffeine work on me?
take more
You probably have a high tolerance to caffeine
without even using it?
i dont drink coffee
just tea once a day and soda once a week or so
adhd?
no effect at all?
i dont feel any different
take 250mg and see what happens
Yeah roughly 8oz each cup
wait how much is one cup?
where do you live
yall got kovaaks there?
wholesome
very
any answers to this?
google says 236 ml, thats a lot
if possible just try energy drinks
caffeine pills 🐱
those exist? lol
yea its nice
asking again, how big is one cup?
🐱
thanks
why is the volume of espresso so small?
i drink two coffee's a day now be proud of me!
@tardy bronze same
Whenever I drink a cup or two of coffee, I don't feel much of an effect
I was never diagnosed with ADHD, I rarely drink coffee, but when I do, I don't feel hyper or anything.
anyone here personally tried black seed oil?
not sure if this is the channel to ask in but my hands are always sweaty, what can i do to prevent this?
It's very hard to measure exact caffeine of home brewed coffee
Easier with instant, and obviously much easier with canned energy stuff
@violet swan good quick fix is using a bar of soap and washing your hands
@violet swan there is antiperspirant made for hands, also keeping a towel on your desk to wipe off with ever so often can be helpful.
Will do, thanks guys!
Anyone familiar with nutrition
@eternal dock Ask your question it depends on what
Dm
I have a hard time focusing on my monitor, especially now again when I put it further back
I think I might need glasses
when i look at a wall day by day i feel like im seeing more and more fuzzy pixel like dots

@eternal dock i am
Unless you’re actually lacking on all of those, supplements don’t do anything.
True for some not for others
I.e. supplementing additional B12 if you meet your dietary needs probably does nothing
But something like creatine absolutely does and there is plenty of literature to back that
Creatine is particularly helpful in short bursts of very intense exercise like sprinting and weightlifting
Regardless you need to do your own research and figure out what is supported by research and what isn't, and further what is best for you
That's not to say it isn't reasonable to take some supplements to make up for deficits in your diet, since a lot of the time stuff like vitamin D and calcium aren't present in sufficient amounts even in some relatively healthy diets
Some straight up athletes skip on calcium in their diet unknowingly and it's a nightmare for injuries if they're severely deficient
A multivitamin can really cover those bases
Even if not an optimal way to get nutrients
my eyes get worse the more i look at my monitor and its make it hard to see read things unless im very close. can anyone help?
Blue light filter
Taking regular breaks
Not being 2mm from your screen
Not shit light idk if that actually helps
Your eyes are probably straining do you have a blue light filer in your monitor? Also start incorporating some breaks like every 20 minutes just stare at a far away object for like 20-30 seconds to let your eyes reset their focus
Also at night have your room lit up
You don’t want to be in a dark room

nah my monitor dosent have a blue light filter
is their like a program i can download to get rid of it
You can use f.lux
Or Windows settings
f.lux just made my monitor yellow asf
that’s a lot of supplements wow
i only take multivitamins, omega 3, creatine and whey protein
how do i cope with imminent death?
sometimes with a snap of the fingers for no reason i'm afraid of death and spiral into existential dread
maybe go to a shrink, that would help you ig
ik there’s a lot of tabus on society these days but u shouldn’t care about that
bruh
i’m not sure if tabus is an english word but ye
Taboo?
maybe that ye
what does that do
my tricep sometimes gets very tense during aim training, could this be on posture/ergonomics or is it just from overtension?
Could be too tight or too weak arms
Or sitting too much in 1 go
Or even posture, height of the desk and chair
Did you know you go on a journey every night after you close your eyes? Sleep scientist Matt Walker breaks down the difference between REM (Rapid-Eye Movement) and non-REM sleep, what occurs during each stage of sleep -- and why it's important to get enough of both.
Sleeping with Science, a TED series, uncovers the facts and secrets behind our ...
Sleep well guys.
lmao
😛
It's actually kinda interesting though, even if you only lose 25% sleep a night, you might end up losing 60% REM sleep, which would help you take on challenges the next day and build on what you learned the previous day 😊
Could even be relevant to Kovaak 🤷♂️
it definitely is
influences your mental health
mine is
really fucking unstable
so I need all the help I can get
any good stretches or exercises for upper arm soreness?
upper arm on inside, tricep area, always sore after long periods of kovaaks
stopped using mouse button to fire in kovaaks, helped alot but still feel slight weakness or inflamation, its preventing me from putting in long sessions to improve. please any ideas or exercises.
Ease on the creatine sometimes too much affects you bad
Some people said they started losing hair and shit
i think ive fucked up my shoulder playing kovaaks
ye ik some people said that but it ain’t true
i’ve done my research on it
i’ve taken it for 3 years now and no hair loss
like none
those are some f*** up people
yeah ive never heard of that side effect documented on creatine
in any credible literature at least
i think the only time it's particularly dangerous is if you have had kidney damage in the past
in which case you should avoid it
I heard about the hair loss things too, but there is a doctor in Norway that reads articles upon articles, so we don't have to, pretty respected guy, he claims it's safe. So, I might try it.
i mean thats not really relevant to supplementing it in quantities 20x+ what you'd get in a normal diet
but regardless yes it is very safe unless you have kidney damage
Doesn’t creatine just make your muscles recover faster?
basically the way your body makes energy is by tearing a phosphorus molecule off of ATP
and usually to get that energy store back, your body makes more ATP with aerobic or anaerobic respiration
aerobic respiration is the slowest but most efficient
so your body uses it when doing something like distance running
anaerobic respiration is much faster but produces less ATP, used in more intense exercise
but creatine lets you bypass that in ultra intense exercise
with something called creatine rephosphorylation
where your body uses creatine molecules to stick that phosphorus back on ADP (2 phosphorus) so it can be reused as ATP (3 phosphorus), rather than make entirely new ATP by metabolizing glucose
which is insanely fast
and can get you extra reps during exercise
or speed/distance in a psrint
by letting your muscles squeeze out all the value of that ATP
theres apparently some evidence it improves recovery speed as well but its main benefit is that training boost
if you are vegetarian, it is an especially helpful supplement as many vegetarians have very little creatine in their body even by normal dietary standards due to the lack of meat they consume
and it has been found that it can provide a significant cognitive boost in vegetarians on memory-related tasks and complex reaction time
god i keep overtensing my thumb specifically
hey, I have a common office chair, the one you can buy basically anywhere and the seat part is too long to support my lower back and have my feet on the floor flat. If I just put a pillow behind my lower back is that enough support and is it ergonomical? Or should I have support on my upper back too?
Get a foot rest
Why a foot rest
Pillows are kinda shit backrests
I thought about a foot rest but even if I get a foot rest the chair doesn't really support my lower back neither my neck
also without the pillow, I start to slouch slowly, so I have to correct my posture every 10 minutes or so
idk if that changes anything but the pillow is a small memory foam pillow, not a regular pillow
Good chair shouldn't need neck support
Lower back tho
Sounds like you're better off getting a not shit chair then tryna fix it with scuff methods
yea but you know money is a problem. I wouldn't be here asking about this if I were able to buy a decent chair
Eee
Might be able to find a better scuff fix on the internet
If youre gonna use a pillow probably best off using a small soft pillow or something
alright, thanks for the help
Anyone know a good chair?
just get a basic mesh chair
herman miller if you can afford/get one used
ive heard the ikea markus is a good one that's less expensive
Funni
@sweet night lawn chairs are the best just add some pillows
uhh bois
I have a problem
where I think about my eyes
and my eyes hurt
horribly
and I've had this problem for years
I thought it was linked to ocd at some point or was somehow related to pain from stress but it feels fucking terrible and I've had it for years
why don’t u just go to an ophthalmologist?
@violet swan check out the prosperaims vid on eye training. he recommends a bunch of "eye stretches" that really helped out his eye pain
i am similar and it helped me as well. its a really good video that will likely fix some of your problems or at the very least give you a better understanding of it.
Any tips on keeping a routine
Like when I'm on holiday I really struggle to workout and stuff and stick to a time on things
@violet swan self-discipline
Routine as in like a whole day thing. I struggle to do everything I want to do in a day e.g working out, aimtraining studying
just ask yourself how much you want what youre working towards
if you dont care about the endgame its impossible
just think everytime u skip a day is you giving up more and more
thats what i did
Nah but like I want to work out
But when its holiday and I have no thing pushing me it's really hard to tell myself I need to do something
i need to ask yourself why do u want to workout
set up some goals
and walk towards them progressively
nah I don't think u understand @left glade I can purposely strain my eyes by thinking about them
idfk how
Should my hand be tired during or after aim training? Your hand is a muscle like all the others. is this just normal fatigue?
It's normal
alright cool I just wanted to make sure its not like the development of something worse
Don't force yourself tho
@violet swan what i meant was trying to approach your goal. for example, its very hard to study without a career or job in mind to work towards.
@violet swan yeah i definitely misread it then. I wouldnt recommend straining your eyes, as it will have long term health benefits
if im cold showering
should i start with warm water and go slowly into the cold territory or straight up go for cold water
Whichever one doesn't make you almost faint
@violet swan Try doing it in the morning or at a specific time everyday
if u keep it up for a week or two it becomes easy
i prefer to just dive straight cold in the morning
my hands trembe i think it isnt normal are there any helping exercises
you could do mobility exercises
should i go to a doctor?
if you feel pain
nop
What
elaborate
need help!!!
i've been seriously missing my shots these past few weeks and I don't know what to do about it
its like i got ranked anxiety or something
im currently plat 3 in val and ive spoken to one of my friends about this and he said just reset your mindset
i dont really understand and ive started to become more inconsistent in my games
this is a first for me
i used to do well but now it's become something thats troubling me
cant seem to reach that purple rank
its been a 4 game ws then loss
cycles on and on
will not affect you in fps games at all
i feel i am not active orso, i play frequently rust and i dont see the targets anymore and i am sort of hopping on auto pilot? 🤷♂️
i dont feel that active anymore that i was used to. It only comes back on adrealine witch is forced on in pvp
found an solution: Focus more on the things you do like, talking, hearing, seeing, and movement.

i have gotten an offer to take the covid vaccine do i say yes or do i wait untill theres more research done about it ive heard some horror stories about it already
do it
do it 100%
especially if you live in gb, you should absolutely get it
i live in norway
I’d definitely get it
and i never have any human contact
your government isn’t gonna screw you over there
ur gonna have to go back to college at some point
/ school
/ work
whatever
these vaccines aren’t gonna be any different from a normal flu shot
i haven't gotten a flu shot since i was 15. I would still get this, because it's actually quite different.
tbh its just a vaccine bruh
Is my elbow supposed to be resting or floating
Dew it
is there a way to strengthen my pinky finger
not sure if this is the right place to put it, but i am in the market for a good quality desk chair anywhere between 150-200usd
why is my tendonitis getting worse and more swollen after icing it?is it too cold?
getting pain on the side of my right forearm where I rest my arm on the chair rest. Anyone have similar issue? I'm going to take a break but it's kind of weird, wrist seems fine
I wonder if a compression sleeve would help with that
my hands feel kinda fucked
tried a gripper and now my hand hurts when i lightly squeeze it
I have an issue where it feels like my brain or my eyes cant keep up with the game im playing
I wear a full arm sleeve because I get rubbing on my wrist/base of palm. It also helps with the area that you're talking about as well
Though the pain caused is from rubbing, not like an inside muscular pain
The biggest problem I have is after maybe 10 minutes or so of 1w9000target, my index finger just starts twitching like crazy in the middle of a run and becomes hard to control. I'm not sure if this is normal or not?
this is completely normal this happens when you use your muscle to the point where it gets tired
when this starts happening you should take a break
wash your hand with cold water
and stretch
Can someone help me with insomnia. Didn’t think I had it but after reading an article about it, it’s exactly what I’m experiencing and idk how to fix it
Man, my anxiety level is through the rough
I have so much shit to do, but it's also not in a hurry, but also very important
So while I am waiting to complete all these shit, I just can't relax at all
dont force yourself to do something
just chill take break and enjoy what you're doin
I had that too. Idk what it is exactly, but you need to do gamer stretches. It helped a lot and now I don't get any pain. I like following this routine: https://esportshealthcare.com/gamer-stretches/
@violet swan
Yea sounds cheesy but glad it helped
gamer streches i'm dead
Can I ask you guys a question, all of you who have smoothness and precision issues do you live an active life style or are you pretty sedentary? I'm just curious on the science, and looking at my own issues of muscle atrophy from being pretty sedentary and fine motor control issues which I think will affect smoothness and precision. ( I drive mostly for a living so I'm sitting a lot, and then go home and do the same at the PC, trying to change and fix things in my life currently )
i have smoothness issues and i’m really damn active
How bad are your smoothness issues? How's you're hand eye coordination in your active activities?
they have improved since i’ve been practicing smoothness scens
wdym eye coordination
Hand+eye coordination works in most things you do including aiming
i mean i am not master or smt like that, and since i’ve only been on kovaaks for 2 months and i have already some plat scores
i’d say it is good
also i’ve practiced sports my entire life so ye
thats good
Okay so you're not someone's who been at it for a long time and really struggling you're someone who's actually steadily improving
ye exactly. i didn’t know u wanted someone who was struggling
You're fine, all input is welcome 😁
Nobody wants to say they do GAMER STRETCHES
Stretching in general is just good for your body and muscles and stuff, not sure why anyone wants to knock it or make fun of someone for it
when i move my hand up and down at the wrist i get a clicking/cracking sensation, it doesnt hurt and it doesnt bother me but im wondering if its the sign of anything bad
make sure to stretch and keep your hand position correct @violet swan
Probably just tendons sliding around
Tendons can very briefly get stuck over bony projections around joints when they move and then quickly snap back into place
Which causes a painless but sometimes audible little snapping noise
I can actually pretty replicably do it with my own wrist
And foot
Stretches can never hurt though as bman said
Creatine for reducing shaky arms/legs/neck etc?while working out(entire body shakes dont know why) maybe if i worked out with Creatine and build more muscle it would help reduce shakiness?
creatine ain’t gon fix the shaking
right, but will building some more muscle help with shaking
There’s difference between moving ur mouse across ur desk
And shaking from lifting weights
U aren’t struggling to move the mouse
creatine won't do anything directly for shaking, it's something that lets you get the most out of your workouts but won't do anything autonomously
and while it's true strength itself doesn't matter in that case
weightlifting has been shown to reduce essential tremor symptoms and improve manual dexterity
probably due to the fact that it increases CNS strength (and might reduce the "noise" of its signals)
We evaluated the effect of a strength-training program on the ability of persons with essential tremor to exert steady forces with the index finger. Thirteen subjects with a diagnosis of essential tremor were assigned to three different groups: one group trained with heavy loads, one with light load …
so weightlifting may help you regardless of your strength level
but especially if you're new to resistance/strength training
guys
my left eye is better in normal everyday eyesight stuff
but my right eye seems to work better for me when gaming
is that normal?
depends what you mean by better
eye dominance is a thing
the visual acuity should be the same
but your brain does favor one eye over the other for certain tasks based on how they're wired neurologically to your brain in processing a given visual input
i know that archers sometimes favor one eye over the other
since they claim that when you close one eye, you have a harder time tracking the bullseye and staying on target with your non-dominant eye for whatever reason
i would say it probably doesnt matter for gaming though
since you use both eyes at all times
I've got these I use to stretch for my fingers and some different ones to squeeze for my forearm strength. They're really nice and I notice a definitive difference
did you play with each eye closed to realise that lmfao ?
Well, I first noticed it when I went tried shooting and noticed that, although I'm right handed, I couldn't see properly with my right eye
but my monitor is so close
that it doesnt really matter
like my right eye sees fine in close proximity, but awfully from a distance.
But for gaming it's a good eye I guess
Should I be working out if I'm unable to eat my TDEE
I can't eat hard foods for around a week, and that means I can't get the same amount of calories I normally eat
What exercises should I substitute for working out then? Is walking everyday fine?
why no hard foods?
Dentist
@storm plinth I have spacers in my teeth so it's pretyt difficult for me to eat stuff
if you are trying to build muscle, you will not get very good returns, but if you are trying to lose fat or build some muscle and lose fat simultaneously than you should be doing that at something of a caloric deficit anyway
try to keep it protein-rich though
it's only for a week though
so i mean
it probably isn't gonna change much
I'm trying to build atm
Icy when you giving me some from your drug cabinet smh
how to fix wrist tendinopathy and carpal tunnel?
go to a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
what's an appropriate amount of in-game practice before it becomes detrimental?
I'm considering limiting the gaming session and reviewing vods more
no hour limit unless boomer
some say 2 hours is the peak
does anyone now some about posture ? dm ❤️
.
any good way to imporve blood flow to hands?
they are so often cold it has probably wasted about 200 of my 400 kovaak hours, no joke. It's bothering me so much and I don't know what to do
put hands on balls
Cold balls mean increased fertility
Open run furmark 3d for 15 min and put urhand next to the gpu
Any blue light glasses that you guys can recommend?
true, the cold destroys your ability to reproduce for a limited time, something that is essential to a gamer /s
I'm not shitting you
That was a strat for me when it was cold af
I would leave my PC on for like 2 hours running furmark
so when I got back home it was nice and toasty in my room
its pinned here
ok
should I get a higher chair to keep my elbows closer to the body?
As long as your elbows aren't too close to your body you should be fine
Does anyone know how to measure your body fat?
i think its by width
or how wide you are
i guess
unless it isn't just use a weight scale
no real way to measure at home
although u can buy some device idk the name of it
you can use calipers at home
you won't necessarily get an accurate measurement
but you can use them to track changes over time
just don't put too much weight(hehe) behind the actual number reading
people hold weight differently and no bodyfat tests are truly accurate
but calipers and a mirror are good enough
my elbows spread wide apart, similar to s1mple and other players who have a high desk/low chair
so I'm curios should I get a higher chair to improve my potential performance
arm randomly started hurting while kovaaksing. im not tensing it and my sens is 28cm so not too low
anyone know why this might have happened?
Possibly muscle strain leading on from days prior? Have you had any kind of aching these last few days?
probably just fatigue
Right, but at 28cm in most tasks you won't be using a whole lot of arm, hence it doesn't really fit for fatigue
Unless you are playing some 360 tasks, then yeah, would fit
im doing voltaic silver routine
there arent any 360 routines
it kinda went away atm but it somtimes comes back randomly for a bit
no previous pain there from the last few days
You can fatigue at 28cm if ur gorilla gripping ur mouse
Or if ur posture stinks
I would just say for now to give it a break, try some stretches, and see if the pain returns after you get rid of it fully and return to training
Make sure it goes away fully before restarting so you dont make it worse on yourself
I feel like the wrist on my right hand is a lot stiffer than the wrist on my left hand idk if that’s normal for gaming
if you aim with your right hand yes
Any tips for focusing less on negative thoughts? I notice that it really hinders my progress and motivation to do things. I've heard of mantra meditation, which I will try in the future, but could there be other factors like stress, seratonin levels, etc. that could also affect this? This is a pretty broad question, so apologies in advance.
focus on the good things and the outcome of what your doing
When I try to focus on the outcome, with the thought that I am improving, my brain tends to acknowledge that I am improving, however it turns it into a negative thought and says that I'm not doing enough
You know it sounds really dumb when I type it out
Maybe just being more mindful will help, but there are far more negative thoughts towards the end of my sessions
For me, music helps a lot. I listen to songs that generally just makes my mood better, it seems to help me gain motivation to train/workout
I dont really listen to music like that so i usually have some random youtube video or podcast on to listen to
I just stare into the abyss in silence, grateful for existing
I’m guessing tingling in my ring finger is carpal tunnel?
I’m currently using the death adder v2 would it help if I switch to the g pro super light?
only a doctor can diagnose that for you but that is concerning, i'd recommend stopping immediately and taking a break from gaming until you get that figured out
the best way to deal with carpal tunnel is to identify and treat it early
dont want to do any real damage
doesnt matter what mouse you use till you recover
it can only get worse from here if you continue gaming as is
so you've gotta get it diagnosed properly
For those wrist exercises, how many times can I do them a day and days per week? I wanna maximize strengthening my muscles there since they're in need without overdoing it.
Hi guys, if anyone ever encountered tendon damage, can you tell me how long does it take to heal
Im already on a break, but due to clicking m1 too much its like my finger and tendon are being stretched constantly
cant even type, such a pain
Tendons take a while to heal because they have poor blood supply. @violet swan
Should my neck be tilted down a little when gaming
lol dang first day ive worked out in ages and im beating a bunch of my benchmarks i plateaued on

why is my tendonitis wayyy worse in the mornings, is it because im not sleeping right or?
Anyone else’s pinky start getting sore after like 3 hours kovaaks?
I assume its just a case of RSI, or not being used to actually aiming for that long.
Do you actually do anything outside of gaming that would affect your grip strength?
If you dont you should really consider it, get a pair of iron mind grips and also the finger grip extensions as well.
i started playing kvks 4 weeks ago ive played it everyday since for 2-6 hours im not feeling pain or aches but i feel like my wrist/arm gets tired quicker now, should i start taking days off? and would this effect my improvement badly at all? Edit: i take breaks when i play
"breath in through your nose and out through your mouth" What difference does it make when i do this instead of just breathing through my nose only?
just curious
Don't believe it does anything frankly
Including for meditation or exercise
Except be inconvenient
Nasal breathing is typically sufficient
And in fact should be better for feeling a lot of the benefits of breathwork since if you're breathing nasally your inhalations and exhalations will be longer which is key for stimulating the vagus nerve
The nose also moistens and adds warmth to the air
Which allows for the air to enter the lungs smoother
Yes if it's bothering you you should take a break, and no it won't affect your improvement. In fact anything more than 1-2 hours of aim training a day probably has pretty diminishing returns, so you might be able to actually become more efficient
This as well especially if you're exercising
Yeah it allows for better tissue perfusion
Since more oxygen is allowed to get to the tissues
Makes sense- I actually did not know it could affect oxygen use, I thought it was mostly just unpleasant lol
Theres another reason for ya
That’s why during exercise it’s preferable to breathe in through your nose and out your mouth to keep up with the oxygen demand
Yup- most of the time for my pudgy self 🤪
thanks for the answers really appreciate it
thanks for the reply
Np and good luck
@river path yeah i do, my pullup bar has a slightly above average diameter which should hypothetically increase grip strength
But idk, my pinky gripping sideways isnt kind of the same
is 172 ms good for reaction time test?
yes
what is your monitor’s refresh rate?
It’s above average
Smh not 172ns
Just finished up my weight training, reminding y'all to mind your bodies and health and stay fit!
💪
Sorry forgot to mention. It is 144 hz.

What is the recommended amount of sleep for a 14/15 yo?
harder to get more than less imo
It's not too much sleep for a teenager of that age
8 is the minimum, 9 is ideal and 10 is the upper limit
Yes it is hard to get, especially since most high schools start too early
But it is absolutely healthiest to get more sleep at that age
Due to most of your growth to your adult height happening that age alongside cognitive development
i wouldn't go as far as to say that 8 is minimum without study backing up such claim
