Hi, does anyone know ways to remedy fatigue in the outer wrist / forearm from frequent clicking? (Like in clicking scenarios)
I have good grip strength and I get the same feeling if I have a completely relaxed, open hand while tapping my index finger on the desk
i feeling pain in my shoulder since 1 month whenever i try playing games it goes even worse idk what to do, should i go to doctor to say when i play games my shoulder hurt that'll be worse he'll probably say stop playing : (
You want to continue playing or do you want more pain?
Choice is yours
i hate pain
Get it checked then
is it normal for one's hands to feel tingly after they've felt cold for a while? I've been out cycling and my gloves got soaked in the rain
i don't think i've felt this before
i have walk on alt. when im not shifting my pinky is in air. is that why its in pain if i play for long?
i cant rest it on the case of keeb
what to do
yea defo normal especially when u go from cold ass weather to a warm home yk
dont stress it ur fingers arent falling off LMFAO
yeah. evenings have been colder than i'd like though and it's april
go to a physiotherapist not a doctor
rest wont fix the isssue if after rest you go back to your old habits again
how is your posture while you play?
idk why i always put up shoulder up while playing i tried to fix it but it doesn't matter now coz the pain is constant
well sounds like it came from a postural issue
chair too short/desk too high or vice versa
how can i tell doctor like my shoulder hurt while playing that's it
no ideally you would go to a physiotherapist
not a doctor
and for them thats a common problem to face
unless you live somewhere rural there should be multiple physios closeby depending on where you live
if i start good posture habits wouldn't it fix my pain?
likely yes if you do it with some mobility work/strengthening the area thats causing it but cant help you there
ok ill give it a try to physiotherapist
you can just say that it came from gaming with a poor posture if thats your likely guess
so they can give pointers on how to avoid it in the future + the rehab they give you
ya 100% coz it always pain while aiming on any game
ye either way physio or not you need to fix your setup
it sounds like your desk is too high/chair too short so you compensate by raising your shoulder
when i put my desk high i need to look down to monitor that's why i put up my chair low but i think i need to keep monitor far away and maintain posture
do you have a preference where your monitor is and you want to keep it like that?
then get a monitor arm
cheap and a good investment
but i've seen many pros with bad posture and they're still good with it
yeah you can get great with bad posture but you can with good posture aswell
ok
After I aim train (with full focus and 100% effort) for about 30 minutes on the Novice benchmarks my pinky finger begins to hurt and when I bend it, it feels like my joints are jumping or springy, I'm not sure how to describe it
But if anyone understands or knows any way I could fix this somehow would be appreciated, I use a palm grip on my mouse which is the Logitech G903 Lightspeed
are you tensing? try to keep a relaxed grip even though you feel like you do better when you grip harder
I think I am doing that unconsciously
ye its a habit you have to break consciously
does someone know?
you can just rest your finger on a key but that could def be the reason
when i do that i dont strafe well idk why
i think its coz i bend my finger
mb ill put crouch on caps lock
I tend to tense up my arm a lot while aiming, especially in scenarios where i'm about to hit a high score or going really fast. It completely ruins the flow of the run, what should i do?
dont.
but i can't help it
try to initiate fast part of the flick not with the wrist but with the place between the arm and the wrist so that u just will use the power of arm to push that, it helped me to not tense my wrist as much
alr thanks i'll try that
also like when i flick i see what line i need to flick at so that i will be on target and i just need to stop at right time
like my line r going on target most time coz of that and i try to flick fast and slow down at the end to not overflick, so that i have the balance of this to get on target or as close as i can
you can but it takes conscious effort to break the habit
dont just autopilot but concentrate on breaking bad habits, dont look at the score
get good accuracy then start speeding it up
I see
if flicking fast is tiring or hurts, then just don't do hard flicks
it's all up to how comfortable you are and obviously what game you're playing
my 2c, practice extremely slowly without thinking about score, simply focusing on being relaxed and breathing while the aiming happens by itself. if you can't relax going super slow u wont be able to do it fast
Does wrist strengthening help with shakyness?
Yes but not really a shit ton
I would still do it even if it doesn't help with shaky aim because it's just good and will make your wrists last longer
hey guys
I've had this problem with my setup, it seems that wherever I put my keyboard, my left arm and especially the top of the trapezius muscle feel really uncomfortable. I think it has to do with the height ratio between my chair and my table.
I know that the obvious thing is to get a new chair/table, but as that's not an option for me now, perhaps you would have some related advice? Like anything, maybe share how you lay your left hand; for clarification, my left hand setup is only my wrist being on the table, while the elbow and the whole forearm is just "hanging"
hi has anyone researched anything about studies of rates of information processing(for fingers, wrist, arm movements) and if this leads to better outcomes in aim based tasks?
i think that the higher the rate of infomation processing the higher the speed of both acquiring skills in motor tasks and performance of motor tasks
but i haven't seen any research yet that proves a correlation so its only a hypothesis
I'm gonna need help. I'm wondering how I can improve my energy and ability to focus as I feel like that not being able to do either is partly contributing to why I've failed recent interviews.
I've tried caffeine, especially through coffee or energy drinks, but that can make me anxious and the energy boost is quite temporary, and I'd find caffeine more useful for weight loss. Gingko bilboa kind of helps but I'm also not sure if there's likely a placebo effect going on. What can you suggest?
do godtier aimers ever tense their wrist? i'm trying to cut down on it but is the goal to actually never do it

how much do you sleep
i get around 8 hours of sleep a day, sometimes more (10h), sometimes less (6h), but my deep sleep averages around 1 hour, and REM sleep only 2 (using my watch to keep track of it as well as stress and calories)
maybe consider a sleep study to check for apnea etc
thanks, i'll consider it
https://www.healthline.com/health/how-much-deep-sleep-do-you-need#increasing-deep-sleep
https://www.sleepfoundation.org/stages-of-sleep/rem-sleep
according to this i need at least 1 hour of deep sleep. another source says i need around 2 hours of REM sleep, but deep sleep is far more important. some days i am struggling to even break 60 minutes of deep sleep and sleep apnea could also contribute (but i'm not sure if it's that bad atm)
REM sleep is known for dreaming, but much more happens during this critical sleep stage. Learn what REM sleep involves and how much REM sleep you need.
idk, never heard someone advice it atleast but some ppl mby do subcounsiously or purposely iguess
Practice focusing. It can be on anything positive, but practice focusing every day, for at least a few minutes at a time. Like meditation
Hey I’m generally a slower aimer (unless I turn up sens to <20 cm360) and I’ve noticed when I speed up the top of my hand where it meets the wrist gets pretty tight and painful and it seems to impede movement. I’ve had a lot of tight and overly inflamed muscles that make my arms/wrists feel tight/painful in general as well and I have been working on that. Is this something that might be form/ergo related or more likely the overarching tightness?
Hey im new to aim training and im wondering if shoulder tightness is normal? It feels hot especially when playing static
just curious when it comes to planting forearm on the table is your carpal tunnel area and part where hand and wrist connect supposed to also be resting onto the mousepad
never knew which is better/healthier
i think it depends on mouse grip? i rest mine but then i play fingertip - as a general guide, if it doesnt feel natural dont do it
feel free for anyone to correct me tho
how can i keep my aim as consistent as possible when playing 5+ hours
stimulants
no thanks
then take a break
@sleek cedar fix me
do u wrist aim
yea
ok so stop doing that
but i like high sens 😦
u can still play high sens
lame but ill try it
but dont move your wrist too such drastic angles
true, ive started using my fingers more for weirder precise movements
i play 24cm in game and 20 and im still able to use my arm and my fingers for the very precise movements
finger movement gang
idk how i aimed for so long without using fingers
g502 moment
40-60 imo
watch your sleep, water, and activity levels. While everyone preaches it I didn't realize how much I was depriving myself of basic things until I started putting most of my focus into health. For focusing, I've seen the biggest change for me in using meditation techniques (finding moments where I "catch" myself not focusing and gently bringing my focus back) daily and getting gradually better at holding my focus on one thing. Good luck dude hope you can find something that works for you
About how long of a break do I need for my wrist to stop hurting
rest and move it but dont put too much strain on
approx how long should i expect for it to heal, though? Is it like, a 1-2 day break with minimum movement, some rest, or am I doing this for a month?
It honestly really depends on a few factors, make sure your rest is good (sleep, nutrition) and try not to overdo it once you feel like the pain is less
if it's caused by gaming then just avoiding tensing it too much helps me
i already do not tense
Me when I cope
does fapping affect my reaction time and focus? i feel like it does. what shud i do
lmao no keep fapping
my shoulder is fucked i can't tell if it's because my desk is too high or too low. i've realise my arm movements can be pretty difficult i dunno if that helps tell what the issue is
i sit with my arms pretty far spread out too which i haven't seen many others do
i've played like this since i started playing on pc and this is the first time i've had pain in my shoulder. Wouldn't it take some time to get used to a different posture ? can you remember how long it took you when you changed it ?
appreciate the advice ill have a play around with making desk lower or making my chair higher so i aim more with my arm than my shoulder
probs be complete ass for at least a week getting used to it
LOL

hi, when I go to practice my fingers and the palm of my hand that I use on the mouse hurts a lot after a certain time. Do you have any solution for this?
I tilt my head to the left while focusing on aim is that unhealthy?
It’s annoying I’m trying to stop doing it
is ADHD related to not being able to do one thing for a long time?
like I played a lot of games since like 2012 and never excelled at anything
starting from Dota/lol to cs/apex/OW
and that goes beyong games. gaming's just my hobby. every thing i start gets tedious after some time to the point i literally wanna barf thinking about it
i suspect it has to do something with ADHD but i never really thought about it. just deemed it's how my brain works lol
i just cant understand how can you do something exclusively ignoring other interesting stuff out there. when i find something interesting, usually a new game, i play it for a few months and then just hop on to another. and the cycle goes on for years as of now
and sometimes things get tedious to me when it gets a lil more complicated than when i could understand what to do. when it comes to learning something i rather just give up
(more in-dephths mechanics, tactics, analysing my replays, nade/skill rollouts etc)
if it does sound like ADHD imma go check myself
but you don't have this with aimtraining? honestly it sounds very normal, like every casual gamer actually. if the same pattern happens with irl stuff and interferes with work and studying for example then that would be a problem to check out. maybe you just like a little variety though. not liking particular games enough to permanently main one doesn't sound like an actual issue but I'm no psych. doesn't adhd seems more relevant from moment to moment or throughout the day? like not being able to focus enough to follow conversations or unable to follow schedules due to distractions and hyperfocusing on something that does capture your attention
if you just choose the easiest activity because its easy and feels good that doesnt mean you have adhd
this generation has the worst attention span yet
and its gonna get worse
aim training included. maybe I am a casual gamer, not competitive. maybe I was convinced that I absolutely need to play rankeds and get good. honestly, that's pretty odd, because I feel and see that I'm way above average learner and could easily reach some heights.... I just don't understand why my brain doesn't let me.
attention span is an issue too, always has been. I wouldn't say I'm hyperactive tho
I am the exact same. Other people play the same game for years. I nerd a game for maybe 2-3 months and then all of a sudden try something new and then nerd that game and so on. Been like that for many years
does it work for you only in regard to games?
cause I'm like that about everything
I feel the urge to learn something and after I think I grasp the main concept I just stop doing that.
I fucking learned how to fly a plane LMAO
Just cause of my random inner urge. I'm sure I'm not gonna go in depths with flying or try to do advanced things...
On one side I feel like I'm actually getting random interesting skills and on the other I'm not getting good at anything particular. That bothers me meh...
Mainly games
how fast did you get gm? surely that took some attention span
About 300 hours
Generally I play around that much and then quit
I did that btw xD
Don't really wanna aim train anymore
ah I see
Same for me but i cant with kovaaks. I hate doing routines
whenever i do spidershot 180 in aimlabs i can do the 180 fine but after tht im not having space, 1200 dpi, valorant in game sens 0.25. i can do 270 degree turn from end of mousepad to other end but some flicks in spidershot 180 is just too far and i cant reach it. what should i do
Lately I've been playing with the idea that my lack of energy and negative thoughts might be better if I upgrade my sleep to 8 hours from 5-6.
Thoughts on this?
perfect then
go for it
as well as get an adequate amount of food and water
upgrading sleep will be the best upgrade you can do to your performance, its so underrated
Ye, I need to be better. Thanks for the support both, I just gotta stick to it and I guess over time I'll see improvement @open brook
massive improvement indeed
it’ll help you a lot
you’ll be able to think more clearly and perform better in general
Ye, I feel like little sleep also makes me have negative thoughts about things at work that really shouldn't be that difficult also.
and that too
irritation while doing a task sucks
it gets even worse when you’re hungrier
so eat up!
It can change whether I aim like a bronze or a plat lol, def underrated, same with food and drinks.
does anyone else get like a wrist pain or something like muscle fatigue when aiming? and does it go away with time
probably you're doing something wrong.
general tip when you got muscle fatigue/pain is just consciously relax and don't overstress hand or arm muscles
it has to feel natural and confident. the only acceptable scenario when you can deliberately strain your muscles is reactive tracking, which apparently helps to do better
Gonna force myself to sleep more than 7 hours all week. I actually did 7 hours and 30 min tonight.
See if I feel better.
It's a bad habit... Nothing important in your life happends after 11 anyway
ty
to be honest when you sleep matters as much as how long
if you can set yourself a regime when you go to bed before 11 and get in the morning it's the best
Guys, how should I have my arm on the desk to get the most range of motion with it?
guys please help me how do i fix my posture how do i put my arm on my keyboard and my mouse please help me
table height and ur chair distance to table and monitor
what height should my table be and how much chair distance to table and monitor
especially last one idk how far i put my monitor
is it normal for my hand to hurt/be sore the day after aim training or did i overdo it?
that is not normal
eye drops?
using 3 rn
the first one had some preservative or smthing so my doctor made me stop using this and start using another without this
"allergies"
consider you may be dehydrated
ill try to drink more water now
About 2 months ago I developed wrist tendinitis from an unholy amount of gaming and learning guitar. I went to a doctor finally over a month ago and i’ve quit gaming and guitar and took the steps to recovery. It was finally beginning to heal but recently i’ve been grinding homework and now the wrist pain is even worse than before. I don’t know what to really do I’ve even been stretching and i feel as it will never heal. I’m gonna take the same steps but I do have questions.
- Does Diet affect the recovery process?
- Do supplements speed up recovery time?
- Is heat or Ice better for the wrist?
4.Is there a certain way to sleep? - Can I still play video games without wrist involvement?
Any help is appreciated but If i could get a professionals advice too that would be sick
HUGE DISCLAIMER: This is discord, dont trust what random people say on the internet, those questions should be asked to ur doctor the next time u meet them HOWEVER I will try to answer them to the best of my ability
Anti-inflammatory foods such as omega-3 fatty acids (present in fatty fish, canola oil, walnuts) and bromelain (present in pine apple)
Vitamin C containing foods such as brussel sprouts, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and kiwi.
Whole grains to obtain vitamins, minerals and Anti-oxidants
Foods to avoid:
Foods that contain Saturated fats
Sugary treats
Refined grains
- you can take Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to help relieve the swelling and pain. (please see/contact your doctor as i am just some random person on the internet)
- many sources are different some say ice others say heat (source mentioning ice): ||https://www.medicinenet.com/fastest_way_to_heal_tendonitis_in_the_wrist/article.htm||)
- try not to lie down on the side of the arm that is injured (duh) but you can also use a wrist guard
Source: ||https://properlivingco.com/blogs/pillow-talk-1/part-4-common-sleep-injuries-wrist-injury#:~:text=It’s not a serious injury%2C yet%2C but if,wrist again%2C it could lead to something worse.|| - You could, however if you were at a relatively good rank in a game you may want to try making a new account (to not fk ur old one or whatever idk) and also you would have to ONLY rely on arm movements (TLDR: you technically can but you probably shouldn't and just wait till it heals, if you want to do it in short sessions and take long breaks)
Once again this was just some information i had before and information that i dug up, i recommend doing some research or contacting a medical proffessional because idk man im just some random guy on discord and dont have a PhD
Hope this helps ❤️
My wrist generally feels very stiff, I have done some stretches, but I was wondering whether something like actually doing exercises to strengthen my wrist could also help with that? It generally just feels like my wrist doesnt move smoothly, as if I skip parts of the movement sometimes
to add to the above: there are good reasons not to avoid all saturated fats or sugars, or refined grains for that matter. make sure you're eating enough so you're not losing weight. afaik icing and nsaids actually interfere with long term recovery of injury.
Not sure if this is the right channel, sorry if it isnt
Chris is right, don’t take NSAIDs unless you have acute pain that is not bearable
didnt get better enough to play without pain 😔 , im trying some omega 3 now
How much are you sleeping

any1 got bad floaters in the eyes?
i find it especially noticeable when in kovaaks with like the white background
7hours on average (almost 9 in bed)
its been almost a week 😭
im gonna see my doctor again on monday if this shit continues
i just wanna grind again without pain, but i can barely keep my eyes open for a sec
Thank you so much for this. I’ll be look more into this :)
thank youu i’ll be taking them way less often
sugar and 'refined grains' aren't directly attributable to inflammation
when calories and macros are equated, RCT studies show no difference
cutting out sugar/refined foods can be a good tool to deal with obesity/overweight issues because it's generally really easy to overconsume foods high in sugar, but it isnt inherently good advice for people dealing with inflammation
most of the sources claiming sugar is inflammatory are just using correlative data
the broader perspective should just be targeting processed foods/low nutritient density foods as obesity is by far the largest contributor to many people's inflammation
allergens and other stuff are also important to look into, but are obviously way more individual
do you guys talk about stale air? i imagine if it can affect IQ so much, it must affect aim as well
yeah it seems like a healthy practice to keep your house/room well ventilated, also to stave off molds and such...
guys u know these photos of ripped sphynx cats? so i read they have Myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy which causes their muscles to grow. but how come i couldnt find any humans with that? i was just curious to see someone like that
picrel:
There's ppl with shit like this but it's fairly uncommon
and no pics ofc?
I'm not gonna dig for pics I saw years ago when they don't look much different from someone who takes steroids
these switch benchmarks be givin carpal tunnel 💀
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa040933
there's this child, but I think all other claims in adults are just steroid users making excuses trying to sound special. there's even been some parents trying to get famous with their kids being ripped but it turned out they were giving them steroids. never seen or found anything reliable wrt adults, maybe they'd just look like a naturally strong person but nothing crazy like steroids could give.
yeah i heard about that thats f'ed up
guys, has been 3 days that after I aim train I have pain on my right little finger (mouse hand) is this normal due to the exercises and wont be bad for me or I should do something particular?
my wrist hurts after playing val for like 4 hours should i take a rest ?
guessin das a yes
the pain is not that severe but it bothers me
ima just do sum wrist exercises and apply a pack of ice
just irritated tbh
doesnt hurt or anythin
i was on my kovaaks grind too 😭
hope this irritation goes away fast
feel good now
@violet swan take frequent breaks even before the pain arrives, do some light stretches in those breaks and get up from the chair for a bit.
will give ur body a rest, strengthen it for the continued session and will help prevent injury and pain
also keep diet and hydration in check, posture too
thats not a long break if you had irritation
keep going like that and next time it will be worse
i actually agree, tendons take longer to heal than muscles, i recommend taking another full day of break to be on the safe side ( tendon chronic pain is such an annoying thing i dont even wanna talk about it)
everytime i play after a while my wrist hurts and my aim becomes inconsistent and i think it might have to do with how high my desk is
since i started training ive started getting a lot of pain in my shoulder, i think im developing a rsi 😦 what do I do? do i need to take a break for awhile? train my opposite hand ?
btw its in the muscle, front and rear delts, very sore.
My mouse hand has been kind of stiff for a few days. Obviously i feel like i overtrained. I was doing evasive target switching for awhile and im wondering how long it takes to recover
Im taking a break rn
at least 2 days no pc use is what i would do now
have a quick recovery
most likely rotator cuff, stretch and exercise it + 1 day no pc use
how many days u experience pain already? more days = more break needed
not 1 to 1 ratio tho
hi, my wrist start hurting by bad tension management, how can i develop this skill? and what exercises con i do for getting strenght on my wrist? if you have some videos please send me the links ♥ thank you for reading ♥
u have great info on pinned messages ^^
Found out today i got cubitol tunnel syndrome
Been ignoring the pain feeling for a long time so if you feel somethings not right always get a check up
any tips on how to work arm supination and pronation burn/fatigue, (0 pain) but tiny tics in the forearm area not going away lowkey feel it when flicking right and left... I noticed it when I do supination and pronation my forearm burns a little more and can feel the tendons around it getting a little bit tight not too tight tho
honestly can be from a lot of things
is ur posture fine? mainly shoulder and neck
do u ever feel pain at the top of ur shoulder or neck area?
are any of you guys in to taking nootropics, not like SSRIS or Aderal but actual supplements like L Tyrosine, Alpha GPC, or Ashwaganda,
right now im taking fish oil, creatine, vitamin c, b complex, vitamin d3 10000 IUs, Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin K2, L Tyrosine, Ashwagand 600mg KSM-66
any tips on increasing focus?
ive found personally my focus has increased with just taking care of my body (drinking water, sleeping 8 hrs etc)
reduce all low effort entertainment to 0, no youtube shorts/tiktok, mindless scrolling etc
might aswell remove all other screentime aswell
i will experiment and see how it works out
do that with good diet + exercise and should see some substantial improvement
thats already in check
Guys ive been diagnosed with kskkfkviir3
What’s that ?
do you guys think it's possible to do the stretching guide too many times
i'm like constantly repeating it bc it helps but at the same time it feels like i'm overworking/stressing my muscles
i've been holding off the static stretches at the very end of a session just bc it advises to do so (even though I would want to do it during sessions)
of course, i'm not using my hand for hours a day to give it a break since it's been hurting, but sometimes i don't realize i'm using it and i feel a small pain so then i just do the routine again lol
ty for the advice
mb for not explaining it correctly but i wouldn't say the stretches actually give pain
even when i stretched in the past it just felt odd stretching my hand but maybe i'm doing it too hard
yeah that makes sense, i guess i can't do much more besides waiting to see if it goes away whenever i use my hand for longer
takes quite a bit of time to condition your wrists, you could do stuff on parallettes instead of on your palms
When I'm aiming I feel tension on my shoulders, especially on tracking like vt apex routine or tracking apex any tips ?
Maybe I need a higher chair actually
tender forearm and pain elsewhere but continues to game for long periods
just letting you know it will be quite a bit worse if you keep going on
why would you play on a setup where it compresses some part of your arm?
if its leading to numbness and pain why the fuck are you playing on it
yeah i understand financials can be hard but your health is more important lol
even if it took me a decent bit to save up i would prioritize that to be able to play ergonomically
i mean yeah you can keep giving yourself injuries and heal up from them
doesnt mean its smart
True I'm on almost same angle I think
And it's gives you soo much space on your desk
Especially if you got a little desk
Ohh I see I got invision arm for amazon for 60 euros, clearn arm 👌
And it a double arm support
monitor arm is a very good investment if your stand is preventing you from playing in a good position
i genuinely dont understand why even some pros have their stands tilted and having their whole kb and arm compensating for that
when a 30$ monitor arm fixes it
Hey guys! I'm not really sure where i should ask this question, but health seems like the right channel. Everytime i enter competitive game (valorant, csgo, even league of legends) my hands get STONE cold. No matter how much i tell my self that it's just a game, that it doesen't matter if i lose or not, my hands are super cold and it drains lot of attention from me. I don't feel stressed or anything while playing, even my posture is good (i think), coz my hands are fine, i enter comeptitive lobby (valorant) my hands are cold till the game is finished, then my hands turn back to normal temperature. I tried variety of things, like tea, hot water, etc. But nothing seems to actually make my hands warm and sensitive (if that's the right word). Any tips ?
its a stress/anxiety response so your bloodflow is redirected to more vital parts of the body
i still havent fixed it to this day but proper breathing is what helps me the most
Ill try that, thanks bud ♥
so focus on staying calm and breathing normally, dont hold your breath in tense situations
and if you find another fix let me know lol
This can happen if you dont eat enough and/or you are really skinny cause I used to have a similar issue when I was underweight. Its weird that it only happens during games but that might also be an adrenaline response which doesn't necessarily mean stress but just that your brain says its time to perform.
Breathing almost fixed that for me
I tried to take deep breaths trough nose the whole game
and suprisingly, my hands were like 50% warmer than normally
brain saying "we go perform don't mess up" is the other 50% for me imo
yea ngl i took like a 2 week break after i said that lmao
i had a gaglion cyst
now i feel better
actually better
im taking a break for 5 mins every hour
and exercising/stretching my wrist/hand
ganglion cyst*
also the reason i injured myself in the first place was cuz of my mouse
DO NOT USE THE XM1R if you main pincer claw grip
switched to the np-01s and my grip feels so much more natural now
hand size?
because i pincer claw xm2we lol and its fine
sorry, after i posted in here i realized everything i typed must of been really confusing
i also thought about how i would be able to describe the pain but it would be so difficult
i guess i would say that i feel pain & soreness on the top of my hand and sometimes tiny sharp pains in my forearm, it happens randomly even when i'm not using it at all for the whole day
my fingers feel a little stiff/sore, overall everything doesn't feel too crazy but it's there
i literally couldn't figure out what it could be after googling but the most reasonable one would be rsi
rest ur hand for a couple days(as little movement as possible)
stretch ur whole upper body everyday multiple times (not too strongly)
work on posture especially upper back neck and shoulders
ofc any activity that u know causes pain - dont do it
at least for 2 days
ty appreciate the help
Good exercise to improve speed wrist ?
idk if this is right place to ask but how do i stop my hands from sweating
it's like i hold my mouse and after 10 minutes of playing boom i see drops of sweat on the sides
i also have to like death grip my mouse just so i can actually hold it
which in turn makes my hands really tired especially after a long session
Yoo I’ve been dealing with dry eyes for some months now has anyone found something helpful about it? Shoot me a dm. My eyes are healthy just dry the mbs work fine.
do you stay hydrated enough?
i guess i used to not drink enough but right now after I got the dry eyes I try to drink atleast 2L, maybe it needs some time for my eyes to regen but idk.
@warm flax
hydration is pretty immediate. idk then, vitamins? allergies? environmental?
What do I do when my fingers are warping to the shape of my mouse 😳
as of yesterday i started taking omega 3s, Vitamin d, vitamin b12 and i also have a humidifier in my room, no allergies knows as of now i seek a doctor in 2 weeks for that. bloodtest is negative tho for anything bad.
room is at around 60% humidity
vitamin a might be relevant I think, eat some carrots
true i rarely eat them actually
Does anyone have any ideas how I could lessen my tremors? I think they've started due to taking meds and I generally just feel like they will be a nuisance in life if they actually get worse which they havent yet, but still
what meds?
Well I take fluoroxetin 20 mg and medikinet
100 mg of the medikinet
One is an anti depressant and the other is an adhd med
Not sure if medikinet is the proper name for it sorry
Is it better or worse if I have my elbows on the table while playing
have you finetuned the dose for you with your doctor?
Well the fluroxetin I actually just recently started taking so not really, the Medikinet could probably be adjusted, I guess I should ask next tine
what can help to improve even further when i feel i hit a plateau? currently Diamond according to benchmarks and i do the LG56 Method for improvement but no highscores and my scores in general arent consistent (between -10% and +5% from my average)
how much time passed since u hit diamond? this stuff takes time especially when u get to higher ranks
scores being inconsistent is fine as progress is not directly linear, just as time goes on if u keep the consistency and challenge u can say its 'linear over time'.
short answer - i recommend 1 day break and then introducing change. do the jade fundamentals consistently for 2 weeks +. most likely u will improve
focus on technique
guys when my wrist touch mouse pad and play with it on the mouse its hurts so much any one have a sloution?
do you think LG is not good to hit jade or is jade fundamentals just to get a change?
the thing is i have some jade scores now but my average score is below plat and i really care about consistency
Hi, I take several meds for depression like clonazepam, alprazolam, rivotril and others, I wonder if these meds have much impact on aim training
its just that jade fundamentals helped me + a change
its always like that with everyone, high scores are above average, then u suddenly high score again - average goes up a bit, and the cycle continues
over time
anyone know what this condition is called, i can’t seem to find smt exact but when i curl my fingers into a loose fist or just to grab things, my fingers lose feeling and i have to pry it open w my other hand to feel it again or i just shake it off for a few seconds
there’s no pain at all but it’s a bit scary when it happens
and it doesn’t happen to my thumb at all
possibly nerve compression? id go to a physiotherapist or someone who specializes in hand/arm issues asap
this is not medical advice but that screams of a vitamin deficiency specifically Vitamin D
Not medical advice but you're gonna die in 3 days and there's nothing u can do except pray
what
Wdym what it's that simple
alright i’ll definitely go check it out now, thanks for the advice 😄
i’ve been home ridden and haven’t taken d pills in like 2 months so that could be it
should i try taking them again
yeah taking a multivit shouldn't even be an issue just don't go over what the bottle says
i dont have multivit but should i get? i only have d3 on me right now
I am unable to sit with my back against the chair and still keep a 90° angle on my elbows. For reference, I'm 6 feet tall and my desk height is 28 3/4 inches. Is there anyway for me to sit with my back on the chair and also have my elbows have the perfect angle?
its fine to go past 90 degrees, i mostly play leaned back so its impossible to have them at 90 degrees without a tilting desk
Hey, I'm again not entirely sure where i should ask this question, but here I go. I started my Voltaic journey not long ago and i found my self not consistent with my arm positioning. My aim in aimlabs feels the best when i have the whole elbow joint on the desk, but when im playing valorant or other fps, i usually find that really hard to maintain. Ill draw some pictures.
I feel very inconsistent with my mouse control because sometimes my elbow is on the table, sometimes off the table, sometimes somewhere on the edge of the table and it feels really bad
question is: Should i just learn to put my elbow on one spot, if so, how can i force myself such a thing
this doesn't matter very much tbh, comfort is most important and should be your highest priority
maybe if your chair has arm rests you could try to incorporate those
and forcing your elbow into one spot is not a very good soution at all, thats going to cause strain and limit your control (i use my whole arm up to my shoulder when playing on lower sens)
I have my chair as high as possible and my arm rests are under the table
that makes sense
i can do one 360 spin if i go through my whole mousepad
Ill just aim for comfort then, thanks ♥
its not nessisarily about how much movement you can do with your elbow locked, but how easy it is to access if that makes sense
I would also say, focusing and thinking about this is going to affect your gameplay a lot more than you think, try to just find a comfortable position and forget about it
that makes sense, yeah
and True, it is taking a lot of attention from me
Thanks bud ♥
np x
one of my eyes is great
one of my eyes is complete dogshit
should I block the bad eye while game?
or does it not really matter
idk if its good to get used to game with good eye would be beneficial
do u have astigmatism on the "bad" eye?
when i move my wrist to the right at a certain angle i feel stiff and i have to force a little to proceed the movement, it's a very minimal effort and it doesn't hurt but i can feel it, also when this happens i hear a little snap coming from my arm/elbow, somebody can relate?
so i recently started doing a pretty extreme fingertip towards the back of the mouse and it yields great control but makes my hand and by extension wrist incredibly sore and worn out by the end of the day. it’s actually more comfortable than other grips as far as random sharp pains go but it’s just strenuous. i’m thinking already this is something that will go away eventually but any thoughts ?
is your overall posture good?
for how many days did u try this
maybe its just cuz its new to the body
if u dont feel pain, try for another day or 2 and see how u feel
in the past my table was too high, i managed to lower a lot, i followed a video abt posture by west proter
u shouldnt have this click imo, something may be pulling on the nerve there, do u feel tightness in ur arm anywhere, maybe shoulder?
and since when did this start or was this always?
was it close to the day u changed desk height?
i feel my shoulder and arm tired after long gameplay, also a bit tense during it bc i have to force a little my arm to rest it into the mousepad and mantain my wrist in contact with it (i think the desk height its not 100% yet, but is wayyyyy better than before bc it was really tall)
@mental tulip make sure to stretch ur fingers hand arm and upper body in general, before - during - and after using the pc
since i tryharded at valorant/aim train
u shouldnt feel the need to push down on the pad
trust me u dont want to train too hard/ for too much time for days on end
take care of ur body, stretch before during and after, take 1 day break at least each week, exercise
gripping less hard will improve ur aiming (common knowledge in aimtraining)
i feel like some people can rest the arm in the table naturally and just aim, but im my case something is wrong and i have to rise my body/arm/shoulder to match the height
i tryharded the entire last year (sometimes not healthy, without rest) and maybe thats the cause with the problem in my wrist
match height of desk? u can put pillow below u if the desk is too high
overuse can cause nerve problems i recommend resting for 2 full days! trust me
ask me how i know 😦
did you go through this?
i trained and played way too much + bad posture while doing it + bad posture with repetitive clicks even outside PC use
my neck, upper back, mid back, shoulder, tricep, bicep, elbow, forearms, wrist, fingers... all were hurting badly
i still have pain
the pain is permanent? im sorry that this happened, its so sad
i dont have the same routine
of the last year
im more casual now
its way less but it stayed, i think i need like a month rest in my case, but i keep playing
and only now i searched information abt this
im concerned
bc i had a rest
i stayed away from valorant and kovaak for almost 2 months
if the only issue u have is just range of motion of wrist after 2 month break, then it might just go away in some days.
be on the safe side and stretch well, start exercising + good diet to keep ur body healthy
i returned playing but like 1 hour a day and kovaaks only when i want to
i want to return grinding but not completely tryhard like i was, so i'll try to be more healthy abt all, thank u
good luck, have fun 🙂
I tried to illustrate the problem
the wrist a little away from the mousepad bother me very much, just can't play that way
maybe im just thinking too much?
i tried doing ur posture, i fixed this by holding the mouse a tiny bit more towards the bottom
can u try that?
yeah
tell me how u feel about it, it feels better for me
i think it helps a little but when im playing i return to my grip without thinking
ill try to get used
thanks
just a couple days now, i’ll keep stretching too
How do I figure this out?
I can make my bad eye’s vision more clear by pulling on the skin next to it
Astigmatism makes lights radiate long lines? For me it does that, but also makes everything blurry lol
@turbid fossil ye, i have the same thing
Glasses fix it but not heal it, it can still happen with glasses on. I want to do surgery for glasses removal and hopefully heal that too
for me the screen is not entirely clear either while gaming with my right eye
I actually notice it with small dots
when I close my right eye, they're actually somewhat clearer while flicking
interesting. Is there downsides to the surgery?
Im not sure yet, didnt complete my research and i encourage u to do so too
And ye i have on my right eye same thing
images I find on astigmatism on google say it's mostly just making lights streaky
but not making the entire image blurry
which is what I seem to have to some extent?
An eye doctor checkup will be good i think
yeah true
Will tell us all
I will visit an eye doctor ig
@robust bolt
Is the 1-3-1 grip healthier for the wrist? When I try it I get 3 things
less shaking tracking
more wrist animation radius
more comfort and control with micro adjustments( i use so much little finger)
my left wrist hurts when it has extension but not flexion so idk whats wrong
@barren yew where exactly is it hurting
And did u do anything out of your daily routine lately
not really maybe just weight lift @pallid mural
its where the hand and the wrist connect ig
maybe do a bit less on weight training for a day or two (maybe do active recovery/deload)
stretch a bit
Has anyone here seen shadow people
huh?
are you talking about sleep paralysis or actual hallucinations?
?
Should I ditch 21cm if it makes my wrist hurt
yes
relax ur grip when playing - less pain, more smoothness
Hallucinations
Sometimes they in public
Sometimes in my room
Idk what to do
i would urge you to go to a psychiatrist as soon as possible, if you are underage ask your parents to schedule an appointment
how do I prevent Knuckle pain when gripping my mouse?
do u feel weird numb feeling? or sharp pain
more like numb
but only on my gaming mouse nut any other like the one for work
if u game with the gaming mouse until u get the numb feeling, and then u switch to work mouse - is the numbness disappearing?
if yes, maybe the shape isnt for u or u grip too hard
if not - ur tendons need a rest + light stretching every now and then
that means 1 or 2 days no mouse gripping
i cannt really tel bc the other mouse is at work and at home i have my gaming mouse
okay then ill take a week off and no stream continue for today 😿
thats very good if u take it. i hope all ur pain will go away soon 🙂
thanks for the advice I have asked my parents to schedule a appointment immediately just hope I can sleep tonight
it could also be the way you are gripping, i used to get that with my mz1 and had to change the way i gripped, it’s still fingertip but i sorta rearranged my fingers
feeling like sleep paralysis is coming back to me, is it a case of me getting back to a proper sleep schedule or something? i try to wake up but can't get out of bed. it's worse than my lucid dreaming experiences. this has happened to me before much more but this is the first time this has happened in a while and it's kinda freaking me out a little
hey lads whats a good monitor distance so that i can see enemies but dont get to much eye strain
I posted this in advice, but I believe it applies for this too: “I have been aim training a lot recently and I noticed that I am obtain top 0.1 scores in aimlab/kovaaks, but when I play my game, I’m extremely inconsistent. I believe this is because of two reasons: lack of in-game training and gripping my mouse hard when aim training and not while playing. I have been experiencing a lot of pain in my thumb for my mouse and I realized I grip my mouse/put too much tension onto it which I’ve read it bad. However, aiming while not tensing feels off, but I heard it’s a necessity to learn for consistency and injury prevention. Is this true?”
hey anyone knows a good exercise to relax shoulders? mine just too tense
where tense exactly? try stretching pec minor, back strengthening with row like motion, and shoulder mobilization (can find all on youtube)
rule of thumb is arm length away
gripping too hard for too long can indeed cause pain and injuries. u have on "pinned comments" finger and wrist stretches. do them before during and after pc use.
give ur hand a bit of rest
which game are u inconsistent on?
this can also be because of nerves in ranked
and also maybe u are not thinking on ur feet about the enemy's movements, not predicting them
every ranked game is different, have to adapt to the enemies
i have a normal palm grip, maybe claw too but mostly palm like a normal mousegrip
i hope so as well, rather good break for longer gaming than pushing a rank and end there
My right side of my right WRIST is very weak at aiming (noticable the most during tracking) any way to take care of that wrist, let it feel better, stretch it in a specific way or anything ?
I would really appreciate the help cuz its holding me back from going Further now
in resources there's a wrist stretching guide, might be worth a look but pretty sure everyone has this to an extent, gets better with time. also incorporate more of your arm to help reduce the required movement of your wrist.
How many hours of sleep do you guys get each night? 🌙
2-9 usually
Last night I had 110 minutes, but usually closer to 500 minutes
Hey all! We decided to compile a guide on how to fix almost any wrist pain for free on our website. If you or somebody you know in here is dealing with wrist pain this is the best place to start! https://1-hp.org/gaming-wrist-pain/
@arctic moat Would it be possible to get this pinned?
awesome resource
I dont really know if this belongs here but i feel so unmotivated my friends who dont even aim train are literally just so much better than me and i probably have thousands more hours than them on mnk its so depressing 🥲
do you feel like you have to perfectly warm up everyday or you will play badly?
Just letting everyone know make sure to take care of you’re eyes, I’ve been gaming to long with probably not blinking enough and I got really dry eyes and this condition forced me to quit gaming completely and this might stay forever so please do take care of ur health .. it’s not worth it having a condition for ur whole life because of video games. take care y’all
At best if possible just quit gaming completely it’s not good for you’re health. Live ur best life while u can. I wish Someone told me earlier 🙂 but that’s why I wanna post this here
And if u don’t wanna quit make sure to educate urself on this it’s soooo sooo important… please!
This shouldn't be permanent, gaming doesn't really cause your tear glands to stop producing tears. Yeah not blinking for long periods can dry out your eyes which can cause irritation but if you use eye drops, take some more breaks to rest the muscles in your eyes you should be able to continue
most things in excess are unhealthy or if done in an unsmart way
not fair to say quit it completely
did you get a diagnosis?
First of all thank you for responding!
I really hope it gets to the point where I can Comeback to gaming, right now it’s not possible.
I have not been born with any underlying diseases.
And I took a bloodtest and everything is fine with my organs etc.
my diagnosis is a eye wetting disorder first degree, I translated it in Germany it’s called „Benetzungsstörung“.
I get tested for allergies in a week and I started therapy 9 days ago that includes eye drops livestyle change and healthy nutrition and being hydrated enough. I hope it’s gonna be alright as I was looking up a bit in the internet and found out really scared stuff.
Yea maybe I shouldn’t be saying quit completely or something it’s just I got really frustrated.
def keep hydrated well enough and consider maybe getting a humidifier
hope its gonna work out for you
my forearms start hurting even when i aim train a litttle anyone know anything about it
bro is death gripping thheir mouse 👀
no
@pulsar niche thx i Hope i can get away with a „blue eye“ only in the end.
if I spent 16 hours asleep because I didn't feel like doing anything beyond working, what will happen to me? I've considered this because I feel like I have nothing to look forward to
try getting some mental health help? i can asssure you it will get worse if you go that route where you give up and just sleep all day
My hand stutters and it isnt really about me being bad at tracking it just stutters for no reason whenever i move it left to right. What doctor would i go to for this problem? a neurologist?
is it true that aiming with wrist causes carpal tunnel faster etc or can u develop it with playing arm too, i upped my sensitivty and am using little more wrist and am feeling way less strain
Sounds like early tendinitis would check this out! https://1-hp.org/gaming-wrist-pain/
Coordination issues are often caused by tendon irritation see above
Carpal tunnel is really rare in esports, tendinitis is the main problem - Arm aiming will cause more strain on your shoulder and wrist aiming will cause more strain on your wrist. Either way you can play without problem by doing exercises to prevent the issues from arising!
Sounds like an ulnar nerve compression. Where it's being compressed is another question and it could be your shoulder. would recommend getting a consult. https://1-hp.org/game-without-pain-ca/
is taking break a good thing for aiming? I have been grinding every single day and now my scores keeping lowing plus my anxiety just keeps growing worrying if i gonna perform well (sorry for my poor english)
Taking breaks is important, daily exercise helps keeps your mind and body sharp and doing exercises for your wrists helps prevent tendon irritation which could be impacting your aim!
I got it right, how long should I take a break? a week?
I mean taking breaks between games, you should be strengthening your wrists to handle the load!
Is a 5lb weight enough for wrist strength exercises?
Yup!
Thanks
i assume this is best question for this here, I always find that in aimlabs/kovaaks I start really well and then begin to taper off in the end because my hand starts to get tired. I wouldn't describe it as cramping but its a similar feeling i can still continue but at a slower pace. I am not super fast or anything I can usually reach about top 98% in any scenario given 10-30 minutes but always kind of cap out not far past that because of this issue. Any advice on how to increase dexterity here or is this something abnormal that can be solved through stretching, icing, etc. Thanks for the time
(this also mainly happens with any fast clicking scenarios like multishot in aimlabs, pressure aiming, etc)
so when i get in the zone when im playing aim lab, i begin to feel nauseous and have to pause in the middle of a task to regain myself. anyone know a reason and any solutions?
Definitely a wrist endurance issue. Would recommend building the endurance of the muscles with metronome exercises daily. These are the exercises https://1-hp.org/gaming-wrist-pain/
Seems like motion sickness, do you get it in the car too?
hello guys. in the past few week, i notice my aim become very rough, not feeling smooth. and it starts 3 days ago, i tried playing valorant overnight for the first time. at the end of the session, i notice some shoulder pain. after i wake up, i feel pain at my upper arm (from elbow upward), followed with numbness at hand. what problem did i have here and what is the solution to this? thank you.
today i have a fever too, but maybe it comes from i play in the rain 3 days ago
If you play on lower sens you may be irritating the muscles of the rotator cuff in the shoulder. The numbness is nerve compression. I'd recommend getting a consult. The fever seems unrelated but you should talk to your doctor about that
no not rlly
check with your doctor before taking anything, but maybe take some Dramamine and see if the problem continues. Again don't take anything without consulting a doctor.
just wanted to say thank u for work & website! just had a look and it answered all the questions i was about to ask lol
one thing is that I find it really visually uncomfortable to play Ashe in overwatch because of how your screen moves / how the vision locks to the lower FoV when you ADS

anything I can do from my end to minimise this or just best to avoid the character?
there are no settings to change it ingame
is 51cm/360 considered low sens?
and i grip my mouse pretty tight too
this normally never happen in-game but when im aim training and when im focused on multi targets my eyes almost hurt / shaky and i feel like i have to blink multiple times or pause and wait a few secs
could i just be straining my eyes 2 much

I would check out this video on motion sickness, there are some good suggestions in there you can do on the player end, (take more breaks, well lit room, chew gum, etc)
Motion sickness is one of the most common afflictions that can impact a person's ability to play video games. Let's talk about how our industry can fix this problem.

Yup eye strain take more breaks and stare off into the distance(20-20-20 rule) , would also recommend likely moving back from the monitor if that's an issue for you.
yeah I would call that lower sense you need almost a foot (30cm) of space to turn 180
I get front dealt and rear dealt pain when I aim train I thought it was cause I tense up but it’s not cause I still feel it when I focus on not tensing up so next I though posture or desk height but I don’t think mines bad at all sometimes I play with back brace to make sure I don’t hunch back and I have a adjustable desk. So idk what the problem is I work out and I feel no shoulder pain should I go to a chiropractor or something
I lowered my desk and the pain less but it’s still there idk
yeah i tend to move my monitor way to close to my face (like 4-5 inchs close. monitor and 👀 are connected as one) its a bad habit
are there any supplements i can take so that i can enjoy playing more? xdddddd
like so that mb tendons or something in my palm will not die as fast as it can
Could definitely be a problem lol
The only thing that will help your tendons last longer is exercises, not sure if you're asking about supplements making your tendons stronger?
Are you playing on a low sens? Could be rotator cuff not delt.
I play . 3 800dpi main but I use sens randomizer in kovaaks@thorn matrix
yeah mb like
glucosamine i have but they r too big ill need to find smaller
but some doctors say its not working
some say it does
I doo rotator workouts a lot before i workout to warm up and I stretch idk I always kinda didn’t like my shoulders
That's pretty low, guessing you do a lot of arm movement? Probably rotator cuff tendinitis
Yeah but strength and endurance are different things
@thorn matrix what you suggest I do
Internal external rotation with band at 5% of your body weight reps till failure daily
Do you think a chiropractor will help or naw
Nah
Ok I have a friend who’s pretty high in aim training he recommended
If you really want to get specific you can get one of our consults but I think those band exercises will fix it https://1-hp.org/game-without-pain-ca/
Yeah if it helps it's a very small amount compared to what strengthening your muscles in your hand will do for you
i have some dumbells
i can do this exercise with them to strengthen forearm but how to strengthen fingers so they will be more durable to play longer
do i need to go to climbing gym?
@thorn matrix ngl that thing you suggested I do like 3 times a week to warm up but maybe I do more sets
Does any1 know how to help with arm issues.
Do you do it to failure?
should I?
yeah that's the best way to build endurance
which is different than strength
and what you use when gaming
ok can desk hight have a roll or nah
yeah it can
will change the mechanics of your arm
but would need to do a more thorough analysis of everything
sorry wym 5/8
i meant in height lmao
you're 5 foot 8?
yea i think
I mean your arm should be in a neutral position but if you play elbow on the table that will change the mechanics, there's a lot that goes into doing a proper posture / mechanics analysis, probably not too effective over text like this tbh
ok
so u reccomend elbow on table
I don't normally recommend that but if that's how you normally play there's ways to make it work
ok
i recommend arm in neutral at your side with the chair high enough your elbow is in line with the surface of the table
you may need a foot rest for that to work
ok thanks

https://1-hp.org/game-without-pain-ca/
this is what I would recommend
Last question @thorn matrix do u think a deep massage will help immediate pain cause im in pretty bad pain
Yeah some deep massage can be helpful! it allows you to kind of reset the tight muscles so you can make the most of the exercises.
I need healing!
What can we help you with? 🙂
Why does drinking caffeine sometimes make me feel more tired then awake
some people are living on >6 hours of sleep, when i sleep 2 days in a row 6-6.5h, im playing much worse and i cannot stay focused no matter how much i try
@plucky haven This is definitely something Casey could answer
Some clarifying questions:
- What is your source of caffeine? Does this change? How much do you typically have (g)
- When do you take your caffeine?
- Do you cycle your caffeine at all? We build up tolerance when we consistently dose caffeine
- When do you feel the fatigue / tiredness?
There is a clear relationship between sleep deprivation and cognitive performance / function.
There are very few individuals who have the genetic blessing of being able to function well on 6 hours of sleep. For the majority of individuals > 18 y/o we need at a minimum 7.5 hours.

LETS TALK...
Very helpful, thanks
- V8 Energy drink. I Drink it everyday it's 80 mg of caffeine
- Typically around lunchtime 12-1. I used to take it in the mornings to help me wake up but i found that i would end up crashing later in the afternoon around 1:30-3
- No, aside from pre-workout drinks that i take before my workout it's always the same v8 peach mango energy drink with 80 mg of caffeine. I tried quitting caffeine altogether but realized I can't function without it.
4.1:30-3 but sometimes right after I have caffeine like the pre-workout drink or even my normal energy drink I'll be hit with a heavy fatigue that'll last for 10-15 minutes
Would swapping between grips(ie, palm /fingertip) in 2-4 week intervals help reduce chances of rss happening?
The afternoon dip seems to be more related to the natural circadian dip we experience in the early afternoon where humans tend to get drowsy. I would wager it's a combination of this + potentially suboptimal sleep patterns. There are 2 clues that are pointing to this:
-You need caffeine to function
-Whether you take the caffeine in the morning or around 12-1, you still get a dip around 130-3
I would first and foremost double check that your sleep needs are being met (see Matt's posts above).
The timeline for the energy drink is also bit interesting. It takes 30-60 minutes for the stuff inside the drinks/pre workout, etc. to actually make it through your digestive system and into your blood. So if you are getting hit with fatigue immediately after the first sip, it's impossible for those things to actually be 'inside' you yet. My best guess is you are taking a break to have these drinks and were previously focused on something else / actively doing something else, and when you are taking the drink it happens to align with a time period where you are taking a break and able to finally notice you are tired.
If you can confidently say your sleep is 100%, then I'd also double check your hydration status. If you are 100% well-hydrated, then it could be a sign of something else. Happy to continue the conversation in DMs as it could get into the weeds a bit.
You can safely avoid RSI with any grip style if you train your fingers right!
I've been struggling with it, I'm a bit older and I've done my best to mitigate it but it still seems to come back pretty consistently. I've got my setup as ergonomic as I can get it, but I can't help but feel like there's some core thing I'm doing wrong
u say ur setup is ergonomic, what about ur posture? i remember the pain started for me when i played for long hours in combination of bad posture(neck shoulders and back mainly i think)
Yea, posture is part of my setup. I used this as a reference https://esportshealthcare.com/gaming-posture/
I have a good chair as well. I think my height is correct, I use a footrest, though, since I am short and my desk can't go any lower. I've tried resting my entire forearm(from elbow to wrist) on the desk, but that caused a ton of wrist pain, and it was really hard to swipe, especially on cloth pads due to the friction. I tried hanging my arm, but that caused shoulder pain. Atm, I'm trying to rest my forearm about 3/4 the way to my elbow, with my wrist slightly elevated(just enough to not scrape the pad). I haven't been doing this long but I can already start to feel my wrist hurting again. I can't really find good information on what I should be doing, I see conflicting information everywhere. Some places say to rest your wrist, others say that's terrible. Some say to rest elbow, others say that's terrible. Others say float, some say that's awful.
https://1-hp.org/wrist-flexor-protocol/ This is where my wrist hurts
the answer imo is to do whats NOT causing pain.
are u stretching and taking breaks? there are stretches in pinned comments i think
maybe ur tendons need complete break
for like 2 days at least
Yes, I do stretches and take breaks regularly. And the issue is that they all seem to cause pain. I've been doing strength/endurance excercises for a while, but I can't do heavy lifting due to other injuries, so serious workouts/power lifting isn't an option unfortunately
I just rested for well over 2 weeks, I was moving so I didn't do PC stuff at all. My wrist/arm wasn't immobile but it was definitely resting
hmm. try something - when u feel pain or even now, do a set of rotator cuff exercise, does it help?
i feel doing a rotator cuff exercise + stretching the pec minor helps
I don't have any pain unless I'm sitting in front of my PC on my desk for a while, but I stretch before/after, then do endurance excercises sometime after 8 pm. If I don't touch my PC for the day it doesn't hurt. That's why I keep thinking it's something with how I'm holding my mouse or sitting at the desk
but my wrist seems to hurt no matter how I sit or hold my mouse. Even if I'm not gaming for the day
the point about even if not gaming, makes me ignore the "tensing in gaming or training situations"
so its maybe about the "closed posture" of using the pc
Ya I'm pretty good with being relaxed for my grip
we as humans probably close our bodies and do internal rotation of the shoulder too much while using mouse and keyboard
try doing the opposite - strengthening the back and rotator cuff, stretching pec major, minor especially, and front delt and biceps, extra attention to external rotation of the shoulder and arm/wrist
dont need to powerlift for this btw, u can do body workouts with slow tempo, even better for tendons
@vague frigate
ok I am not sure what you mean by closing body.
What exercises would you recommend for these? Light/slow would be better, though I do have some 5-20 lb dumbells available.
I am not sure how it would prevent my specific wrist pain but I'm willing to try, regardless
@vague frigate notice the external rotation
about ur edit, our bodies are connected. im living proof that shoulder problems/ pec tightness + strength imbalances between front and back, can lead to finger, wrist, elbow, bicep, tricep, neck pain
its all in sports literature also, u can research it
oh ya got it. In retrospect that's very obvious lol
where should I rest/pivot my arm, though? Is forearm ok? Am I maybe just putting too much pressure/weight on my arm as it's on the desk
Hey so I think you have begun to notice what we preach in general when it comes to gaming health is that it's typically a "pie chart" There are different things that contribute to pain and based on our experience posture / ergonomics most typically play about a 20-30% role. The more important aspect is your overall physical conditioning and gaming habits (how much time you spend playing or what we call your overall load)
https://www.youtube.com/live/BAqsG-d3K28?feature=share
This is a good place to understand posture ergonomics in a bit more depth.
With regards to your wrist flexor pain. **Here is the most important thing you need to understand about gaming pain. **
Think about your muscles and tendons as having a health bar. Every time you click your mouse or keys you are gradually losing "HP" There are things you can do to influence how quickly you lose HP like have better posture / ergonomics, general conditioning so instead of losing 4 HP per click you are losing 1 HP.
When you get to 0, tissues become irritated (mostly tendons) which lead to some pain. On the flip side as some people have suggested you can rest, stretch, breaks, massage, ice, heat to allow for the HP to be restored. But it shouldn't just stop there.
The bigger picture is... you can actually affect the size of your health bar! You might only be at 100 HP right now but it can increase to 20000 HP. We achieve this by performing specific exercises targeted at the muscles stressed in response to how you sit, how you move, DPI, sens and your overall setup. So in the article we provide specific exercises to improve the capacity of the muscles on the palm side of the wrist.
It takes time to build up your tissue capacity and strength (4-6 weeks is what has been shown in the literature) if you are consistent.
the TL DR is:
Build a consistent routine to strengthen your muscles based on what muscles are being stressed from your setup - the videos help you understand this but we can also help with this (can setup a free consultation if you are interested)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoedUZ4OpPY
this teaches you a bit more about what muscles and regions are involved similar to the article
Wrist pain is by far the MOST common complaint I get when I work with pros and gamers. And the first thing they often encounter online are resources telling them to rest, brace, just do stretches! Sorry, that’s not going to help in the LONG run. These are just methods for short-term relief. I’m Dr. Hwu, and I’m the esports injury doctor. Over th...

Any recommendations for eye strain? After a couple hours my left eye is super sore. Only really happens when aim training as well
Are you using white theme
@tame robin
Our most common recommendation is actually to leverage a modified 20/20/20 rule
Where you take a 40 second break every 40 minutes to look at something (20-40 feet away) to allow your eyes to accommodate to different distances instead of beign stuck at the 18 inches for the majority of the day
It allows your eyes to rest and recover
does that help anything if you don't get dry- or soreness of any kind? I think there's studies on this right?
🙏
I think it can only be beneficial. One thing that we are considerate of is the concept of dynamic visual acuity which represents the general ability of our eyes to focus and accommodate to different distances.
If we are stuck at 18 inches for 8 hours, every single day for multiple years (many of us) without allowing ourselves breaks to increase the variability of distances for our eyes to work, we lose the capacity to look further. So the recommendation is generally helpful for eye health so you can maintain your ability to focus and see at different distances throughout your lifespan
is it possible to have that without pain?
100%
I did this, I didn’t care about my eyes and now I got chronic dry eyes and can’t even play at all anymore so take of them you only got two.
And no it didn’t got here from an underlying disease, I’m healthy, I went to countless doctors.. sadly it’s reality that too much screen time can cause a chronic dry eye I wish I knew earlier. 😊
what doctors? something like an opthalmolegist?
im very curious what the diagnosis is for "chronic dry eye"
I went to 8 ophthalmologists, and 5 normal doctors including a neck, nose ear doctor who would take a blood sample. also I went to check for any possible allergy’s, Nothing.. blood is fine, vitamins are fine, hydration is fine. I also take Omega 3. even my glands in the eyes are working fine lol. My eyes evaporate to soon wich makes my eye dry. and there is no possible fix besides maybe blinking more and that will fix it in some months ( only maybe ) or do punctum plugs wich will be put in my tear path so my eyes are not evaporate to quickly.. it’s crazy how complex this is. When I go out and wind blows my eyes instantly feel sore and get dry ( even with wearing sunglasses ) that’s why I consider myself getting chambered glasses.. the only thing I didn’t do is seek a dry eye specialist, they are really expensive but I will see one soon if my eyes don’t stop. If u want to have more info and stuff lemme know @worldly ermine, I watched so many forums, Reddit’s, doctors.
Also taking eye drops doesn’t help.
i see sorry to hear, what did they recommend to make it more tolerable/a possible cure?
didnt even know there was such a thing as a dry eyes specialist
Ngl, I didn’t know all of this too.. I was just a Gamer Gaming Games, doing kovaaks playing valorant all day.. I miss it so much. one day I went out and the wind dryed out my eyes and I knew something was wrong instantly.. The next couple days I got blurry vision too that’s when it started for me.. gamers really need to be educated about this topic. my cornea is damaged because of the dry eye they said it’s fixable, so they gave me eye drops that repairs the cornea damage for now and they hope that will work, and then they will work on fixing the dry eyes in general.
@pulsar niche
Dry eye specialist take 500 Euro for one appointment it’s insane.
It’s fucked up kinda
Insurance doesn’t cover so u gotta pay urself
i appreciate opening up on your story, and yeah that payment is pretty bad for a single appointment
Np man @pulsar niche! take care
Hello, really weird thing started to happening to my right (mouse) hand. I have constant, CONSTANT feeling that i need to "flex" my forearm, wrist, stretch it, rotate it, etc. It takes so much from my aim and focus, coz im thinking about "doing something" with my hand all the time. Any tips ? Anything that couldve cause it ? Your experience ?
Hey Ruckis!
Oftentimes this sensation can be a result of an underlying endurance impairment OR it is a behavioral habit you may have developed. In our experience it is most commonly the former.
Which means depending on where you feel it, you should be working to improve the endurance or capacity of those muscles. The general recommendation would be
- Begin working on your endurance through some exercise routines:
https://youtu.be/lzjOCYkn8mY
9 minute wrist routine
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcfMAtSMnESdA2oOZANTLL8IlEcQtVEWs (other routines including some warm-ups and stretching)
I would start with
-9 minute daily for strength
-6 min post stretch after gaming session
-3 min warm-up
See how you respond after 1-2 weeks. It typically takes 4-6 weeks to make a change in strength but if you are consistent the neurological changes associated with regular exercise may help address some of those sensations
-
Regularly stretch during some down-time to address the stiffness associated with repeated use. Perform a full stretch of 3x20" for the muscles of the forearm and hand (see the videos above). This can help with alleviating the sensation while you work on your endurance
-
Lastly check your behaviors - if you are death gripping during certain rounds or aim training scenarios it may be a good idea to work on changing that habit
I'm back guys with another routine to help keep your guys's wrist and hands healthy. This routine is a little different as it is a FULL injury prevention routine! It involves the following types of exercises:
- Self-Massage
- Stretching
- General Coordination
- Strengthening and Endurance

im doing these everyday now
Thank you so SO much
how long after a workout until I can aim again lmao
LOL depends on the intensity of the workout, typically after 1-2 hrs you should have some base recovery but just depends on what you did and how much CNS depression occurred
fck so should I workout first thing in the morning or later at night. Also any recommendations for light workout for lower back? Tried doing situps but my lower back hurt like hell, so I probably need to spend a bit of time working my back out as well
@worthy sapphire hey! Sounds like you could be dealing with rotator cuff tendinitis. Would recommend you checking out this video for some exercises but we also have free consults available

1month with dry eye (already seen an ophtalmo, didnt work pls help)
tried omega 3
blinking more
already was making breaks but tried even more
preservative free drops
i dont use my monitor too close+night filter on 50 since i got it
warm and not too warm compresses
i rlly want to get better and became a pro but this is making me want to end it all
check if u have some allergy kinda messed my eye up
before i got the medicine tears came out of my eye often and i was blinking seconds long like
yea me too
my doctor said i had this because of allergie
i saw a specialist on allergies but still didnt get better

i just want my normal eyes againn
thats weird what did the specialist do
I got same dude ..
Did the doctor check ur meibomian glands? And does ur eyes get dry without sitting on the Pc? For example going out and wind blowing in your eyes?
What did the doctor tell you to do?
What what was you’re diagnosis?
Note that omega 3 take atleast 3 months to show results!
I recommend you not to do pc for a while until you get better.. it’s rough but I do same rn
didnt check meibomian glands
i wake up with my eyes dry asf
then it gets a lil better but still hurts
wind blow in my eyes 24/7 and my eyes feels tired a bit
hydration
take the meds for a week
more vitamin and omega 3
💀
i did this before and didnt get too better tbh
but ill try to do this on this week and see what happens
oh god i miss my eyes so fucking much
Im not a expert but based on what you are typing this could be clogged meibomian glands since tears aren’t being produced at night you’re glands kinda need to work properly. You should definitely check that out unless the doctor told you they work fine.
I hope you get some relief soon as dry eyes are rough to deal with, I’m on the same boat.. the doctor told me to do same like you.
I just want to have normal eyes again but you need to be consistent with it. Workout, good died, hydration, vitamins..
Maybe try to night ointments I did hylo night for a while my eyes warent that sore waking up then.
What helped me a bit is making sure I sweat.. I go to the sauna for example sometimes.
It’s important to find the root cause for you’re dry eyes and eliminate them.
My dry eyes happend because I was sitting in a room with bad climate and I was sitting on my Pc for 8-12 hours for a year and now my tear film evaporates to quick.
forgot to blink aswell, didn’t care about my eyes. 🙂
Did a doctor take a blood sample yet?
is it ok to workout everyday or should I do a rest day inbetween tough workout days? I am still sore from yesterday. I'm mostly doing endurance style training, with light dumbells(10 lbs), following some of these excercises: https://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/dumbbellexercises.html
Yesterday I did most of these except legs(ran out of time). I did at least 1 from each category with 3 sets of reps each, but I went until I couldn't keep going, took a break, then tried again until I couldn't keep going, etc. was mostly a full body workout, so I am not sure if I should take a rest day, then go again tomorrow, or if it's ok to go hard again today
My right elbow has pain so I will be going light on that, I hurt it when I was younger and it never got better, not sure exactly what causes the pain. Best description I found of that pain is golfer's elbow, it happens even when I do light lifting/excercise.
Don't wanna work the same muscle group two days in a row
im gonna try doing home workout to see if i get better
nah
but they want to try an allergie test
i actually tried to blink as much as i can+ never use my monitor "too close" to my eyes
i dont know how i got this
thanks for the information
hope you get better soon
You too man if you need anything let me know, you aren’t alone!! 🤝 @austere plover
just tried this a few minutes ago before doing routine (forgot to do it earlier) and oh my
definitely feeling sore in rotator cuffs but it feels like I'm able to better maintain proper posture
if y'all have good advice in terms of also what adjustments I should make to better my posture on this Leap V2, lemme know, I'll keep doing this for a few weeks
hopefully we'll see lovely improvements
hey guys. i’ve been playing a lot more recently aim training and trying to get better and playing valorant more and i’ve noticed a lot of wrist pain on the right side of my wrist about an inch~inch and a half . this happens after a long session or just when i get on sometimes. was wondering if anyone has any tips or stretches. thank you
Anyone good hand exercises, all i see is wrist exercises
what do u mean exactly? if forearm, then its working with the wrist exercises
or if anyone could know what this is
when I play I will usually have my legs crossed while sitting on my chair, is this unhealthy?
Like criss-cross back in elementary type thing?
my desk is non adjustable so I can't have my feet on the floor and have proper arm support
But yes in my personal opinion it is quite un-healthy.
yea exactly
If your gaming chair sitting experience is less than perfect, simple tweaks can help. Learn how to sit in a gaming chair using these fundamentals:
- Configure your lumbar support.
- Configure your armrests and seat height.
- Move while you sit to keep muscles active.
Using fluid, dynamic neutral postures is the healthiest way to sit at a de...

I'd check this guide out the chair doesn't matter so much as the principles! https://1-hp.org/blog/healthy-movement/good-posture-better-performance-what-you-need-to-know-about-gaming-posture/
Hey! I'd check out this guide! https://1-hp.org/gaming-wrist-pain/
Nah as long as you keep moving in your chair you can sit however you like!
thank you so much
@thorn matrix what muscles would you strengthen if your mouse was more heavy and you had lots of fatiage easily using it
i know i could get a new one , but yeah my parents wont let me
Medic ur my goat
Neck: Always keep your gaze straight ahead, avoiding twisting your neck
neck as neutral position. Your line of sight should match the top of the
screen.
the final part I don't understand what you mean sincerely, do you recommend placing the monitor in the center of the eyes or at the end of the upper final line?
hi i think i have to see a doctor for my wrist because it often hurts while playing or aim training and in the gym i cant push weights that should be easy for me because my wrist starts to hurt but its not just hurting it feels like a shock in my wrist, when i do dips it starts to shock at the end of the movement
its kinda annoying and also only on my right hand and i feel alot of instability in general
agreed
Hate it when I'm doing my session for the day and then pain
Dynamic Aim, did the warmup playlist and im trying to run the vdim playlist but I'm in shoulder and upper arm pain
i can't be dying this soon
@worthy sapphire rest your right arm completely or as much as u can for 2 days (no pc), im guessing this isnt the first time, u dont want this to become chronic like it was for me, it still is i didnt fix it yet. Make sure ur posture is good, u do stretches for whole upper body, and exercise the rotator cuff and back - basically go to the 1HP site or search it on here, they have good info
Sry for paragraph im on mobile
When I aim train I feel a pain in my shoulder, is this a posture issue? Its not a lasting pain just happens towards the end of scenarios when im trying to keep up a pace
I swear I don’t even wish my worst enemy having to deal with dry eyes. :/ all I wanna do i Play Games bruh
yo i got a quick question
sometimes i got the feeling that my wrist locks in place
like i cant properly micro adjust
idk if im in the right channel
is a wrist rest like the carpio g2.0 something that could help improve posture and help with wrist pain, or would it make things worse?

Ghanks
Thanks a lot
you're rotator cuff may be pretty inflamed at this point, best to limit play if you feel more than 5/10 pain. (meaning play up until that point) but it takes about 2-4 weeks of exercises to health
likely tendonitis would reccomend getting a free consult https://1-hp.org/game-without-pain-ca/
If the pain is from the pressure on your wrist it could, but if the pain is from repetitive movement in game likely not
I think I'm sleeping a lot and that's because of the antidepressant and anxiety meds. I also think that these medications are causing some damage to my memory, since I started my treatment. Maybe this treatment and memory damage are limiting myself
Haven't done my workouts in a few weeks cuz of work stuff but I'm going to start back up on that, should that help or would anything conflict?
(practicing standard gym safety of not going farther than I can handle, emphasizing form, and spacing out exercise sessions, only 3 days a week for me)
yeah you should definitly keep lifting
but doing some extra rotator cuff exercises as well
Definitely sounds like you might need some potential strengthening to ensure you can manage the lower load activities (aim training) so that the higher level activities (gym) can be managed.
Feel free to sign up for a free consult and we can see if we might be a good option to help you out!
TYpically how it works is we ask a few questions to better understand your lifestyle, background of what you are feeling to identify what might be happening. Then if you're open to working with one of our actual doctors of physical therapy we can setup an appointment so you can get a full recovery plan 🙂
i was reading it's recommended to do 150 minutes of aerobic exercise per week
so if I do maybe 5x a week running for 30 minutes
and maybe 3x a week weight training
would that be a optimal schedule?
or is that too much
i mean, everyone is slightly different + in some days/weeks u will feel in need of recovery so u will want to train less to give the body time and resources to recover
it depends on if ur body can handle it and mainly the intensity of the running and weights(also volume of weights)
i would say start slowly
low intensity low volume low frequency
increase as u get more in shape
yeah forsure
I plan to start with getting in the routine of doing the cardio first
and then once I get comfortable start doing weight training
but end goal wise would that be good?
sounds like a good plan overall then, experiment and see how your body adapts/ behaves
u dont have to do only that to reach your goals so also be flexible ^^
alright thanks 😄
i've just been doing 20 minutes of cardio cause 30 sounds awful lol
but im working up to it
all good, its enough imo, unless u plan to be a runner or something 😄
I wanna optimize my health haha
u will 💪
keeping it consistent has more impact tho than u will get by optimizing, so its not as important ^^
how does one with motion sickness play fps game
been wondering for sometime if its possible to reduce it or get rid of it
would be a big help since i get dizzy after 1 hour in or so
This is the ACSM recommendation - "optimal" is what works for you given what your level of conditioning is and what is reasonable for successful integration into your schedule
What I mean by this is it may be hard to go from 0 - 100 to jump straight into 30 minutes, 5x/week + 3x weight training. It is okay to start with 2x/week cardio, 2xweek weight training and them build up every month or 6 weeks to get to the recommended minimum. but also not sweating it that you aren't reaching that recommendation because some movement is always better than no movement
👍🏻 def agree with this
Hey there - so this is something alot of people have reported to us and is likely a sign that you may need to work on some general conditioning of the wrist & hand to ensure you can handle the repeated stress of kovaaks + gaming + daily lifestyle
You may not have had pain before but you likely may have pushed close to the limit or capacity your tissues could handle previously and while resting initially may have been helpful to reduce the irritation: it didn't address the underlying weakness or schedule management that led to the overuse.
Here is a good place to start:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnRBc-AdnI0
This can provide some context as to the "capacity vs. demand" issue we reference alot or the idea that you can build your hand / wrist endurance to handle repeated sessions.
From there if you want to integrate specific routines we have a big playlist but to give you some guidance
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcfMAtSMnESdA2oOZANTLL8IlEcQtVEWs
3 Minute Warm-up before games
6 Minute stretching routine after sessions
9 minute wrist routine you can do 3-4x/week or daily (ideally)
Also depending on where you feel the soreness you can better understand which muscles you need to target - this video should help you understand whether it be the flexors, extensors, etc. (palm side vs. top side of the wrist, pinky vs thumb side)
if you want more specific guidance - we also offer free conusltations so you can learn a bit more about how your specific schedule, settings (grip, sens, posture, etc.) might be leading to what you are experiencing
a lot of the time when im aiming my vision will either get blurry or "turn off" for lack of a better term. it's almost like my vision blanks out sometimes. i've had an eye exam and got glasses but the prescription is very weak so they're essentially unnecessary, i play better without them.
with all that being said, i've read that this "phenomenon" can happen due to a stress response. does anyone have a way of reducing stress or anxiety quickly? it don't really feel stressed in the moment but looking back i surely was. it happens pretty suddenly and would love to stop it from happening so frequently
if anything my grip is super tight and when i'm presently thinking "relax" my vision is clearer and my aim is sharper so idk how to fix that
maybe not the best place to put this but recently been having wrist pains and pins and needles in my hand along with shoulder pain i'd imagine from aiming and training. Was wondering if this is something i should be concerned about or if it's just a break i need ?
Do you know which one i should click on? srry for bothering
Not sure where because its mainly moving my wrist up down and left right. No pain either just stuttering/ shaking.
Thumb is in pain when i stretch it out what should i do
No bother at all!
I would focus on these 4

Right hand stretching towards my left
Could definitely be thoracic outlet syndrome, we treat that a lot in gamers, I'd book a free consult here to see if it's right for you.

I don't know if this is the right channel to ask. but something really weird happened to me these couple of months/years after I went to college, where I didn't have energy to do anything/didn't want to . And just now, when I tried to wake to my body up for a presentation at college, my body wouldn't listen to me, I felt paralyzed I couldn't move it at all until right now. Even then my body still feels really heavy.
What are some good ways to get back into a healthy lifestyle for someone who has not exercised for awhile
@thorn matrix curious regarding the Shoulder Pain routine; would you recommend doing it right before a training session, when you're having shoulder pain, or just in morning and/or afternoon?
Also, for the exercise regarding pulling theraband/belt over your head, I can't fully pull the belt over head unless I move shoulders slightly. Should I just go up to this point when doing the exercise and stop there or should I be doing the whole moving shoulders slightly to pull over head
There's some slight pain in the knuckle of my pinky finger on the right hand
I have no clue why and no clue how to lessen the pain or fix it fully
What can explain numbness on both hands when gaming in a really serious fashion? Whenever I am doing scrims or matches in a game my hand at times becomes very numb.
This usually does not happen when I'm gaming in any other fashion
try this see if it helps
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VGBbXL1_lak
If you have ever had knuckle pain with gaming this is a stretching routine you can try to help with management of symptoms. Stretching can be helpful to relieve some compressive stress on the joint of your fingers (specifically the joint located where your knuckle is). Endurance exercises are important to ensure you are able to achieve long-term...
they also generally recommend strengthening the wrist and fingers and lowering use of the fingers
then i guess its stretches and managing volume on fingers throughout the day / week
I would go to a doctor in person and get some blood tests done
Sounds like a nerve impingement, some deep tissue massage can be helpful but you should get on a rehab plan to strengthen the muscles. check this out to book a free consult https://1-hp.org/game-without-pain-ca/
depends on a lot of your own personal factors, we offer fitness services where you can cunsult with a certified expert to build a plan that works for you! https://1-hp.org/fitness-for-gamers/
I would do it before you train as a warm up.
Second question answer is yes!
check out our wrist pain guide here! https://1-hp.org/gaming-wrist-pain/
Numbness means nerve impingement, where the nerve is being pinched is the question we can help you with a free consult. https://1-hp.org/game-without-pain-ca/
i can't afford $100 a month i can't even afford $1 a month xd
#fitness talk about what you'd like to do
need a save for my dry eyes
is been a fucking month and i can barely open it
@austere plover :/ sucks
Tons of resources online, but again it really depends on what your goals are. here is a basic guide for getting into fitness https://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/a-beginners-guide-to-the-gym-everything-you-need-to-know/
@thorn matrix when I stretch my right forearm extensor (the one I use My mouse with) I seem to not really feel it in my extensor but more of my wrist. Is that a bad thing should I try a different stretch or some other thing?
But yeah my right extensor is extremely tight
hey man these are genral guidelines so your wrist ligaments could also be tight but really difficult for me to give specific advice here without an eval
my guess it it's still tendon tightness, but it just may be a more specific tendon than the general wrist extensors
Ahhh that makes sense
any advise to stop my eyes from getting heavy and stop the stabbing pain in them
not not even just when i look at a screan its
all the time
@oblique iron take breaks, do the 20-20-20 Rule.
how do improve my aiming stamina? After like 3 Ranked games my hand/fingers fatigue for the entire day and i cant aim for the rest of the day, even if i take a 2 hour break i cant aim when i get back on, how do i improve my stamina?
You would probably preform better on a healthy diet in all aspects of your life
Especially if you lacked in micronutrients
With a previous diet
Micronutrients are important
have to improve the endurance of your wrist muscles. would start with these https://1-hp.org/wrist-extensor-protocol/
any advice for pain in only my pinkie knuckle when aiming? the knuckle also gets “stiff”
Hey y'all. Been playing FPS games for a while now, and something I still cannot shake is getting anxious in fights. I suspect I have some form of anxiety disorder or ADHD after having talked with my campus therapist for 2 years now, but I still end up getting rly anxious in Apex fights I take, so my aim and my arm just stiffens up and I'm like "fuckfuckfuckfuck" mentally. Even though I have 1800+ hours, my aim just goes fuck-all bc of this anxiety
Anyone out there have any tips?
care less about result of the fight/round/game
try to have fun owning people and improving
dont let "what if" thoughts get through
yeah ik, but even if that happens, sometimes in a fight I'll just "seize up". as wack as it is I can feel my arm tenses up and the anxiety j flares
may visit a therapist as I have a lot of anxiety in other areas of my life but yea it's annoying af in apex
ppl have told me "just be more confident" or just to "fake your confidence" but it ends up not resulting in anything long term as the anxiety returns
if u dont care if u win i dont see how the anxiety will kick in
fucking hate it bc ik I have rly good aim when I'm in the zone and feel good, but I just get so inconsistent and end up reverting and being stagnant
anxiety needs to invent a reason to act
also stop caring about aim consistency
it wont happen
even pros whiff
u can be consistent with gamesense, positioning, ability usage, comms etc
work on everything else but aim
tyty, will try that!
i'll j let aim be on the backburner for now then
glhf!! 🙂
tyty :)
So recently I’ve been having pain on this area of my hand (the blue part, the palm is facing the reader of this picture) after playing for like 40 ish minutes, which never happens unless I play for like hours but yea. What am I supposed to do? Also another thing is when I try aiming and when I like think to move my fingers to microadjust sometimes it doesn’t and I knew I could’ve done it but it just doesn’t wanna move if you know what I mean, what is this problem??
I would like some advice on how to keep consistent and play well, with my chronic health condition. Alot of the time i can have tiredness and nausea. This can affect my gameplay, and i would like to limit it as much as possible. There is nothing really medically i can do at this time, as i am already on a very high amount of medication. Any advice?
So that area is called (if we're being fancy and technical) your thenar eminence. It contains a lot of the muscles that control your thumb, especially for motions where you're pulling your thumb in/across your palm.
What kind of grip do you use @eternal dirge?
So this one's a little complicated, because I don't want to stray into giving medication advice. Does your doctor have you on any anti-nausea medications currently, like Zofran or Reglan?
There are non-medicine options for reducing nausea, like ginger (I usually go for ginger ale, ginger tea, or ginger candies), but there's the possibility of ginger interacting poorly with a number of medications, especially blood thinners, so definitely check with your doctor first.
If fatigue is part of what's going on for you, I'd suggest some energy conservation strategies and breaking blocks of play up into shorter sessions. If you want to be able to perform well, it's better to only practice for a duration that lets you practice at that higher level, then take a break, then come back (vs practicing for a longer period with less consistence/worse play levels).
"Energy conservation strategies" refers to the idea of conserving energy where you can. For example, having a chair in the shower so that you can sit instead of stand--standing takes more energy than sitting; you'll save a little energy by sitting instead.
You can also focus on practice techniques that aren't just sitting at the screen and playing--things like vod review, setting goals, and planning practice sessions to meet those goals take less energy and make your practice more efficient, so they can help you maximize the practice time you do have.
thank you
I use a claw grip! My chair doesn’t100% match the height tho of my desk, so what might happen is I might use a point btwn my elbow and wrist as a pivot, and aim from there
Ooh, that's an interesting way of doing it! That might be part of what's fatiguing your hands a bit. Are your armrests higher or lower than your desk? If they're lower, you could consider using something to build them up a little bit (a cushion, a folded towel/blanket, etc.) and see if that alleviates some of the strain.
But a lot of what you're describing sounds like muscular fatigue or lack of endurance, and for that you'd want to a) work on getting the muscle to relax a little bit with stretching or by using a tennis ball/water bottle to roll it out, and b) improve that muscle's endurance with exercise.
Thumb Pain with console gaming often occurs due to overuse of our thumb muscles with analog stick control. Depending on the game there are often differences in how much we utilize the analog and other buttons. Grip & controller types are important to consider as well! If you have any thumb pain in the region shown, these two exercises are a grea...
I know this video says it's for console gamers, but that's mostly SEO--it also applies for PC players.
You can also do exercises with a rubber band that improve the overall stability and mobility of the thumb:

The rubber band works more than well enough though, honestly.
any advice how i can fall asleep i havent slept at all these past 2 days
What have you tried so far, and any idea why you're having trouble sleeping? Is there something medical/emotional going on that might be affecting things?
i have only tried leaving my bedroom to other room and read a book
then when i return i just toss and turn and cant fall asleep
and i dont have any idea why i have trouble maybe its because of the heat, but im not sure at all
maybe also that when i cant fall asleep i start stressing about it that i cant fall asleep the next day
That's definitely a frustrating cycle to get into! Kudos for not just sitting in bed and stressing, changing your location is a good way to go.
We actually did an AMA here about two years back with a sleep behavioral specialist, so I'm going to link that first of all, and then give some suggestions
Dr. Daniel Bonnar (Esports Sleep Guru) helps the Voltaic community better understand taking basic steps towards better sleep.

LETS TALK...
A lot of the suggestions we give are about long-term change (making routines, setting consistent times for bed, turning off screens 60 minutes before you go to bed, etc.). In the short term, I'd recommend the following:
-do something that will fatigue you during the day, namely some kind of exercise (whatever kind works for you; the goal is just to be tired)
-screens down 60 minutes before you go to bed and/or install f.lux or similar (it's a program that automatically adjusts the brightness and red/blue light output of your screens)
-take a lukewarm shower to help bring down your body temperature about 15-30 minutes before you plan to go to bed
-get light as soon as you wake up. Sunlight's great, artificial is fine
-take a look at your diet. Magnesium deficiency (among other things) can affect your body's ability to produce melatonin, which is the "sleep hormone" that makes you feel tired.
okay thanks alot i will try these tips
would check out this protocol! https://1-hp.org/wrist-extensor-protocol-ulnar-bias/
i ate undercooked/raw meat what do i do now?
run to the toilet
if it was raw bear meat you might have a parasite
i cant shit
Probably nothing will happen speaking out of experience. You poop is gonna be fluid maybe tomorrow. But that’s it lol @quiet oak
Depends on what meat tho, was it fresh from the supermarket or did you hunt??
My armrests are technically j the slightest bit lower than my desk, but then they curve downwards facing my desk, so that creates a bit of weird space where the armrests feel lower than they are. Depending on how I end up sitting too, considering this chair's seat is pretty large, I could end up having two diff positions at times for my arm, sending them rn
So the red marker bits I drew on are where I’d rest my arm depending on how I’m sitting
Claw grip as usual
Is it possible that the extra muscle tension I might feel in fights could be a result of anxiety?
Most definitely! Especially if it's more tied to a situation (fights) than to a timeframe.
Emotional and stress regulation can both absolutely cause muscle tension.
There are definitely some things you can do to manage that anxiety, but I'm going to defer to our psychs and mental performance coaches on that front.
