You should not be expecting to be a certain rank or anxious about your rank or whatever. If you really care and want to improve - well, improve. At a certain level you will start landing in plat no matter what.

And if you are into comp or want to find a team in the future, just when u are at a certain level buy a new account for stats sake

But yeah, ranked is a place for practice that doesn't defy you in any way, shape or form

Yes, when u are deeper into the game and reach a certain level it's better to play vs higher ranks, but not 100% a must. Also being plat1 is nearly always enough due to the nature of this game.
