it was fun, but in no way it was as fun as modern siege just because it wasn't as competitive
it didn't even favour mechanics more since you could bs your way out of bad aim by just spamming movement
slower leaning and the removal of crouch spamming were good
the ads walking speed nerf was also good
also, the slower ads speed as well as everything else just made the game feel clunky

I don't miss old Siege. Horrible lighting, lean/crouch spam and dropshotting, random dumb stuff like the Sniper90 and OG Ela. I'll take the game the way it is now even though their balancing direction of playing whack a mole with the ops that they knowingly make the most played is beyond dumb. it gave 3 speeds a massive and unnecessary advantage
as if being able to move quicker and more quietly while un ads-ed wasn't enough
also, there was really no reason to not be adsing while moving
which wasn't a huge issue but it also just enabled people to play more aggressively without any info
the only things I would revert are the frag nerf and all the recoil nerfs that started coming after SI 2021
it started the current trend of having to play a different entry op every season for no real reason and just lowers the skill ceiling by nerfing the importance of good aim
but beyond that, the meta (not as in the ops, but as in the way the game is optimally played) is as good as it's ever been
oh, and just remove lair because that map is just garbage
shows that the consulate rework and labs were just flukes and that the map design team really has no idea of what makes a map good

attackers still had the better guns in terms of raw damage, and letting defenders get more aggressive leads to more interesting set ups and rounds that aren't as predictable
the "tactical" aspect of siege is a net negative for the game in terms of competitiveness, which is why I cringe at the notion of trying to bring it back
siege got better and better as ubi understood that making a "realistic" counter terrorism game was a waste of time and money

Horizontal recoil makes it much harder to use at larger ranges for basically no reward. The higher firerate means nothing if most the shots don't land. Put the MPX in the hands of any good player and they will find more success with it

one of the hardest parts of the game is understanding wich angles u can hold and how so it is normal that ur struggling if ur new

yeah, positioning is very tricky given how quickly you can get swung so it's hard to put it into words but you need to constantly adjust the angles you're holding and consider how strong they are in "raw" terms and how strong they are given the context of the round as well
an off angle stops being strong the second the enemy has any reason to expect you there
usually, it's perspective that you can abuse the most in order to get an edge when holding angles since pixels are relatively easy to prefire

If you want the game to be catered to people like you, the game will be dead. Casuals are always the majority, and they're the driving force for the game's development and improvement. I do enjoy the competitive side of Siege, but I enjoy watching it, I don't want to nor I can dedicate 6hrs a day of scrims just to get better at the game, I simply want to have a good time with friends and have fun. Siege already has this entry learning curve that makes you put in AT LEAST 100hrs into a game just to understand what's going on. Imo it's all about finding that sweet spot between casual Siege and t1 high comp Siege. If you love Siege eSports, you have to acknowledge the casual audience, they're the ones buying the skins, buying merch, they're the ones coming to major events, they're the ones watching the streams and cc's. Less casuals = less money in the game = less money in the comp = less orgs = less comp players.
I've been on your side years ago playing other game, yes, we enjoyed our time, yes, the devs listened to the comp players. But eventually the game started losing the casual audience and became a 200 avg online players shit that no one cares about.
