Nah, it's that we're humans and not only can we adapt to minor changes, but how we're feeling can make those changes to seem impactful. If our brain is lagging behind and we reduce our sensitivity, then it's not that we're better on low sens as much as our drowsiness was better suited with a lower sens to compensate.

It's best to never overthink sensitivity in any case. Tweak it, change it to suit your needs, but making adjustments isn't the sole reason for improvement especially in a small window.
One week I'll play like a demon on 27, then I'll switch back to 43 and see huge gains. It's just how we are inconsistent in general and can make use of good mouse control to facilitate those changes.

A lot of it might not even necessarily be something wrong, I find unless you have some considerable shakiness or tension/pain then it's better to look into smaller aspects once you've established a solid foundation.
