There's overall very little depth to the character kits in apex so not really. Just play everyone a little bit and figure out who you like then look up and see if they have any niche techniques
For example I main crypto and bloodhound - bloodhound is absurdly straightforward and doesn't really have any techniques, but for crypto I can deploy drone at a certain time during a climb to send it out immediately without any animation (basically a niche animation cancel)

Honestly it's not even just the engine, it's a lot of poor design choices. They know of the engine audio source limits but keep things like menu scrolling audio queues and add in a lot of unnecessary audio clutter and ambient noises.

tracking is the most efficient method of aiming so yes
tracking over static but dont neglect your mouse control to be able to acquire your targets

the learning curve is INSANE, i feel like it takes the most mechanical skill of any shooter ive ever played (besides GunZ)
also the playerbase is either insanely cracked or theyre not too good/medium at the game, the skill gap and sbmm is brutal as well so it could just be that
if you want to improve i really reccomend recording your games then when you get off look through your recordings slowly and think about how you could have played that better after the fact. like if you pushed a fight that you weren't kitted for, think about how you could have won
some situations are just not winnable though unless its through pure mechanical skill but I always find a ton of mistakes when i review my recordings and it really helps me to improve knowing what i did wrong
