explain how it wouldnt. there are 21 "divisions" (including masters) and people shouldnt be stuck in just 3 of them (plat4, d4 and 10k). people get stuck in these divisions because they dont know how to go positive when they lose 12 more rp than before. this also resuts in an irrelevancy of ranks like d3-d1 and plat3-plat1 because all of those players can consistently get rp in their rank, only, the d1's have consistently gained rp in diamond for longer. in every other game with a ranked mode, divisions really show a difference in skill (a gc3 in rl is generally going to beat a gc1). if masters needs to be even more exclusive, apex could introduce more ranks (emerald, grand master. . .) to make even smaller percentiles that ranks cover. i just think a sudden +12 to your match entry rp cost is bad with or without demotion
