It’s about suffocating the Russian government as much as possible, and like it or not, even taxes on salaries/prize money are one of the ways in which they make money.

To be fair, there's a difference between someone hitting master with 29 kills on their main and 0.25 KD and you. Plus rank as a concept means little when considering the whole, but only until you realize how few get it legitimately anyway.
