i remember in OW that if you dropped below your rank (bronze to plat) that you needed to play 3 games in that SR and not get your rank back to be demoted but in diamond and above if you dropped out you immediately became diamond again
there was also preformance based SR gains and losses in regards to the game up until diamond to help with smurfs
the point im trying to make is that you can have tier specific systems to improve the ranked experience

the ranked system in OW is unironically fantastic. the actual system it uses is quite accurate and good at placing people(even if it does take a little to long to fall and you can camp a rank for a while if you dont play much then your placements per season and tends to boost new players). problem is the games in such a state that the ranked experience is some of the worst ive ever had
maybe fantastic might be a bit much but in comparison to other rank systems ive played and heard about its honestly quite good
the biggest issue with it is probably the fact that the games system is very specifically made to show where u are on a bell curve and is not helpful in any regards to learning the game better. so makes a lot of boosted egos even at relatively low ranks

Iâm only gold on the benchmarks but I feel with projectiles it doesnât really do me much good here. I still need to work on tracking with r9 and wingman up close too with reactivity and smoothness for more precision while account for projectiles.
