Basically strafe lurch or lurch just throws you in the direction of your directional input in addition to your initial momentum direction. You have to input the directions where you want to lurch within 0.5 seconds after your jump input, with the initial 0.2 seconds lurching you more. Tap strafing is basically stacking forward lurches in addition to air strafing.

What the Korean/Japanese players like Aimbot do is jump, use forward-side-back/back-side-forward lurches to do those strafes. You see the Octane landing on the ground every time and every jump they lurch to the opposite side.
