adding in strafe aim lets me just focus on vertical adjustments with the mouse most of the time

so not only do i protect my hitbox by strafing but it actually makes the effort to create a smaller grouping easier, in my eyes

now i'm not a great r99 beamer from standing

Clipping with r301 an opponent from 100m who overpeeks and stays out of cover for more than a second is good, but it's not going to happen often

More than often you'll have to just shoot someone crossing from cover to cover where they move and recoil smoothing kicks in already and it's a matter of you tracking and maintaining your crosshair position

So yeah, imo nice skill to have but not super important

And correct me if I'm wrong but I GENUINELY haven't seen anyone actually learning recoil patterns in this game apart from recoil strafing

I can imagine it being more frustrating as you might get inted once a few games early on and die top-15 and lose a lot of points so I see how unfun can it be

But more survival aspect of it is kinda cool as you get something closer to high quality lobbies where you actually think before commiting as you have a price to pay in RPs even though it's not that big of a price as you can immediately go into the next game

For me.. i think the convo depends on how much time you’re willing to play boring matches.. when I did it, I had to drastically slow down my pace of fighting.. I like to play the game kinda dumb and just w key everything

I was already a d3-d1 player and making that adjustment helped me make it

I also had to make swaps to my loadout.. I played a fuck ton more wingman because it was the only way to compete with pred level dps… I couldn’t track at their level so I just started to try and land 1 headshot with wingman every fight

That’s just my take… I think regardless of who you hear it from and the biggest thing you can work on is getting abnormal levels of fighting skills.. your aim needs to be consistently solid and you’ll need to be able to put out high level of pressure/damage/util lol
