Well, the 20 tick servers is definitely something that I wish would be fixed. But, any modern game has a infinite amount of bugs. It's physically impossible to have that much code in a game, without breaking something. Especially when you have to try and add new lines of code on things that are looking at prior lines. Everything is connected in some form or another and when you interact with something it can change how something else views it. It's a normal part of game development and why a lot of games have "Betas". The issue is more just EA won't let Respawn have enough devs that can work on said code
I'm not sure on the logistics of the server garbage, but that's genuinely an EA staple, and it is extremely expensive and time consuming to make new servers that can handle 60+ ticks in a game so intensive like Apex
It's much easier when the game is smaller like a tac shooter and there isn't much to load in the map. It's like comparing the resource intensivity of CoD vs Kovaaks
A toaster can run Kovaaks, but a toaster can't run most CoDs because of how much is going on. And getting servers that can run all of that alone is expensive, let alone servers that can handle more than 3x of the load already being placed from this massive map/game with an insane amount of things going on at once

Fortnite makes over $5 billion dollars per year, and Apex in it's whole life cycle hasn't even made that much yet
It's not surprising that the game has a higher tick rate server. But, even then. A company with that much more money and R&D sunk into the game only has 30 tick servers because of how expensive and time consuming getting all the servers, licenses, land, etc really is
Especially since you can't just update "one server" at a time. Otherwise that server is going to get crowded and you will definitely start a player riot over it
You have to update the whole infrastructure all at once. And you don't know too how the engine/code will react to that change in tick rate as well
They're definitely being a lot more proactive about bug fixing major bugs rn. If you watch their twitters it's obvious they are trying really hard right now. It's just that they have a small team compared to what they need to push fixes and stuff while still working on the big updates/cosmetics
They genuinely just don't have the budget from EA they need to really make this game truly shine unfortunately. If they got a somewhat bigger team hired on, and maybe a road map to getting even 40-60 tick servers in place, this game could genuinely get revived really fast

Damage is always meaningful, just not necessarily something you can capitalize on for a push or squad wipe; I saw YukaF run out of meds in endzone because his team didn't have sufficient cover and it easily blew any chance of winning for them.

The issue with that is that you see a guy hit just as he reaches the wall and there's a death box he could have shield swapped from. It sounded like one bat went off in the clip. And the third guy seems to have managed to get nothing at all, because he seems to be low on health the first time he takes damage.
So there's a three-second interval (if that) for the last ult hit.
But maybe that was a cell instead of a bat going off while he's climbing.
