I will say that a lot of character specialist or weapon specialist players well often times have negative experiences as a result of the cyclical nature of balance patches, but this is a unavoidable negative outcome for players who prefer to have things one way in the game with so much variance

The easy comparison would be to see a player who only plays one character in a fighting game, have their character Nerf on a patch

Obviously, it sucks for the one player who only likes playing the game because of that one character, but at the same time, the competitors mentality is always going to be to adjust to whatever the current matter is

I feel like it’s always a difficult position to take, though, because of how easy it is to seem like a bad guy for saying that the character specialist is going to have to get over their special character being weak

It is very easy for people to claim that they play a character for the love of them whenever they are strong

As it turns out, people do want to win, but they mask it in these statements of character loyalty, and if they cannot win on their terms, they would rather quit entirely

All I can say is that this is an entirely valid viewpoint and if people want to draw boundaries about that specific thing, then there is nothing wrong with that

It's impossible to find since this happened like two years ago on stream but someone said Gen would be shit at MNK, he switched inputs for one game, and hit over 5k damage. He showed his setup: a coffee table. He didn't even have a mousepad. Gen is simply that guy.

What gets to him is more weapon handling between inputs. He expected to beam a guy with CAR last week when playing with Mande and I think Xera but since it wasn't roller, the guy barely survived and it came down to a knockdown shield fight
