absolutely, at higher levels i think strafing is more about maximizing damage out than minimizing in, because the other player is going to hit shots regardless, so making the most of the trade is what's important if you're unfortunate enough to be in a situation where your dodging matters. I'm more referring to situations where CQC is objectively advantageous (eg health/numbers advantage)

But controller can flip that advantage quickly, so I'm experimenting with how to finish my fights vs rollers more consistently
